Wasn’t there a situation that happened in Australia? Zara got mad at him, I think they said it was because of his drinking but who knows. I guess that he must have a lovely personality and is is very respectful to Zara because he’s not much to look at.

I'm under the impression Derek is in the state he's in because of the treatment they gave him. Being in intensive care and put on a ventilator is a very invasive process and the intervention itself is what gives the poor outcome.

Ibwas under the impression that he was treated this way because it was the early days of the pandemic and we knew little of covid at the time. If he was hospitalised now he wouldn't be given the same treatment.

I might be wrong of course but I don't believe he's suffering from long covid, so this documentary can't be to raise awareness.

I just don’t understand the treatment Derek has been given. He was in a ventilator for god knows how many months yet I know families who have been told their loved ones will be removed after a month. My own father died from Covid and they didn’t do anything to help him like the doctors are doing for Derek - no ventilation, no medication. After 3 weeks we were told ‘that’s it’ and they removed all treatment and left him to die. So I feel really frustrated when I see Kate Garraway’s face everywhere going on about her family’s Covid struggle because to me and quite a few people I know, Derek has been given better treatment and I personally can’t be dealing with Kate and her benefitting from her husband’s illness. She’s brought a book out and now a documentary and it all feels really intrusive and to me I guess a slap in the face. Why wasn’t my father given the same chances? I really miss him.

I've been quiet here for but a while but I felt compelled to come on here to say *look* at Laura Whitmore on Instagram. The comments show her true colours. As a fellow Irish gal in London I feel I should have a sort of comradeship with her but she is awful.

In this post, she's banging on about how proud she is to work with renowned sustainable brand *checks notes* eh, Primark. People are commenting with legitimate concerns about the company and she is so passive aggressive towards them. Great that Penneys/Primark are taking steps to improve but if you were truely into sustainability you wouldn't work with a brand like that.

I've had the unpleasant misfortune of having to spend a lot of time with her because there are some overlaps in our circles of friends and because of some work I do. She is a nasty piece of work. She practically foamed at the mouth when given the chance to work on love island and let me ask you, if you were so heartbroken about one of your 'best friends' dying would you be posting videos of yourself dancing around less than a week later. She's such a con artist. I mix in circles that are full of show biz types and used to work in PR so it says a lot when I say she is the most pretentious, selfish brown noser I've ever known. Wouldn't trust her as far as I could throw her. And it all comes out in those comments.

This is not really tea ..bit crap actually but thought I'd share ! Adam Thomas (think he was in emmerdale) was staying at the same resort as me with his wife and kids. It was quite an expensive place and I'd saved for an entire year to bring my family away....only to see this knob had been #gifted his entire stay. I was fuming! (had a snoop on his and wife's insta. Total posers and complete show off's)...saw him lots by the pool and at breakfast . He was mostly stuck to his phone no interaction with the kids unless of course it was for the gram. I hate people getting gifted shit for free when us mere mortals work our arses off for the luxury !

My mum came back from holiday a few years ago saying she'd seen Hugh Grant at the airport having a big strop. She said hevwas really horrible to the BA staff. I loved him at that point and couldn't believe he wasn't the bumbling posh chap he was in films. My mum slagged him off for days and I finally thought to ask her what he was shouting about? Were peasants too close? Did he miss Liz Hurley?

Nope. BA had lost his luggage. No wonder he was angry.

When I said I'd be cross too, mum said "He wasn't that angry to be honest, he just asked them when he might be reunited with his stuff."

That sums up my mum. She says one thing, then eventually says something completely different!

So my bit of celeb gossip....when we were kids my mum took us to an open air museum My sister was about 11, I was 8 and my brother was around 5ish. We always went super early to avoid the crowds and probably because it was free before a certain time. It was super quiet!
Being bratty kids we started to fight, like proper screaming and shouting, my mum bollocking us in the process.
As we turned the path and came round the hedge...still screaming and hitting each other we were greeted with a silent crowd of people all lined up, perfectly quiet waiting to be greeted by princess Diana, Harry and William. Everyone had heard our arguing but obviously pretending it wasn't happening.
Apparently Princess Diana looked straight at my mum, made eye contact, smiled and gave that knowing look of you poor cow, it happens to all of us, dont worry.
....we probably carried on arguing, oblivious.

Lots of random soap stars and footballers I couldn't tell you the name of although I did used to work at an agency in Manchester that regularly catered to Man U, including Ronaldo back in the day, although I don't think he shagged anyone, and I was never brought in, don't think I'm their type- no fake tan or tits. A lot of rich self-destructive types including the closeted ones just like to get escorts out to 'party' and are deeply lonely and damaged people.

Re: her speech changing, that's completely normal. It's not suddenly one day "Oh, I speak like this now forever". Symptoms can come and go. She's fighting to speak normally. Sometimes it works. Also, Patients can go into complete remission from symptoms for long periods, then suddenly it returns. The entire piece is full of misinformation and an embarrassing lack of basic research.

Gosh I'm really surprised that so many of you are slating Kate Garraway for her documentary! I think you really need to watch it to understand why she did it. I don't think it's for the money. I think she wanted to show the horror of covid & how it impacts on the patient and the family. It's unbelievable that he is still in hospital a year later and could be until December 2021. He will never be the same man. It showed how horrific the disease can be for some people. I don't see this doc as any different to others that have been made about people with disabilities etc.

I remember watching a documentary on Boris before he was prime minister where they followed him behind the scenes for a few weeks. He used to purposely and intentionally ruffle his hair up, pull his shirt out and scruff his tie up before he went on camera for anything. He plays the fool because that’s the character that works for him that has got him elected multiple times. Hell, even the fact we all call him ‘Boris’ instead of his surname like all other politicians says it all. He’s marketed himself as a goofy, affable, dopey and lovable rogue when he is far from it.
