As I’ve said before, I knew JM around 2010 in a lesbian online and off social group. Apart from us all noticing that her posts were inconsistent and attention seeking, one close friend from Southend who was not prone to gossip, warned off another friend who was due to go on a date with JM. Here is why:
She said that JM had, a few years back, so perhaps 2007/8, been having a secret relationship with a local woman who was already in a long term lesbian relationship.
So JM was ‘the other woman’. Apparently when JM realised her beau was not the wealthy side of the pair, she dropped the poor one, and set about starting an affair with the rich one!!
When the affair was discovered by the poor one, the couple realised that JM was after money more than the pumble. The couple were both pretty broken by the whole drama apparently.

This happened long before the hunger period, and pre-motherhood, so it seems to me that she’s always been on the lookout for a meal ticket.
With this story in my head, I was not at all surprised to see JM jump at the chance to move into West London and live the high life, and to not consider the implications for her child!

I have no more ‘history’ of JM, unfortunately, but that story alone left me with a fascination of why she was so manipulative. I was quite excited to see her get some fame, as I did think somewhere down the line, they’d be some notoriety…

Morning. Just to say she was in fact on twitter yesterday, because she 'liked' this comment about That Man's show.

Let me speak on this for a minute because I have FEELINGS (not really lol, just a relevant anecdote). The other day my mum bought a small amount of mince for me along with her own. I was like 'oh great I'll make a bolognese'. I was going to bulk it out with a tin of lentils a la Jamie's suggestion on his programme. However, after some deep thought and soul-searching (again not really) I decided to give my mum back the mince because it's just not worth the cost of gas for me to be making one, maybe two, portions of bolognese. That's the whole point of the programme - how to reduce energy costs while making family meals which will last for more than a day. If you can't afford more than 250g of meat, I suggest mince and tatties or something which isn't going to be on the hob for an hour or more. Thank you for coming to my Ted talk etc.

I would feel sorry for her if she weren't just so foully unpleasant to everyone - there is no excuse.

I can’t feel sorry for her. I believe she always saw austerity chic as something she could monetise. She was just really bad at it as she wasn’t actually skint or any of the things she claimed to be so she had nothing to draw on. She’s had no obstacles to her working and building a better life as the rest of us manage with all our assorted issues and backgrounds etc. Remember she was perfectly capable of passing the tests to be a control room operator which can’t be easy. So the adhd and autism et al weren’t a problem until she needed them to be.
She aligns herself with everything from gay to bi to trans to working class to socialist to vegan and is none of those things-she’s just openly grifting people who are or who support the causes she’s appropriating. This is a person who has used the existence of food banks as way of directing a revenue stream at herself. Then there’s the issue that she’s never even tried to do any research or development to become a budget cookery expert-she clearly hates food and deeply misunderstands the fundamentals of cooking and baking. This brings me to how she speaks to others-not only her combative and rude stance to any challenge but more the utter disdain she has for her followers and her unwillingness to thank them or praise their efforts or engage in an uplifting way. I have no idea why they follow her other than her troupe of tamed neckbeards (feet pics, love myself pics and the hope of an Only Fans one day)
She is dull as ditchwater, so miserable and bitter. She should pay them to read her content it’s that bad.
And then of course-the spending. On it’s own absolutely fine although as others have said-my equivalent time spent in a now fairly comfortable double income household after having our pov times has not left me with over 100k in designer clothes and furniture and sadly my friends and relatives are too poor/stingy to cough up designer jewellery as gifts. If she was just a crazy spender unwrapping her latest treat on Insta that would be her thing. But her thing is ‘no jam mama’ and solar lights for indoors and selling your child’s favourite toy and using shampoo in the washing machine (because you’ve seen the new Bosch in John Lewis and Harold won’t replace if it’s not broken?!)
But this is other people’s money. We know people are donating to her because they align themselves with her-same way you’d lend your last fiver to your mate-that’s what she’s playing on with them. The middle class squig money she’s taking should be going directly to their local foodbank or hospice or charity of their choice. She’s been running a scam and she’s not sorry. To jump on the bandwagon of child and food poverty to create an income is disgusting. It sucks for her that she’s stuck with her personality but that’s what happens if you do no emotional growing between 13 and 34. I wish I had a morsel of pity left for her but at this point it’s too clearly all intentional.
