It just shows her level of immaturity, anyone that messaged her, and the comments made here, were all coming from a good place, people concerned about Ollies safety but she's too immature and pig ignorant to see that. Personally I couldn’t care less about anyone buying anything baby related from Smyths, however I do think if you’re going in for something as important as a car seat then you should do your own research before going in and not depend solely on retail staff to make that decision for you. Baby walkers are always up for debate, do they hold back kids walking, how about their hips, does the house have stairs, etc but it’s not a hill I’d care to die on. However.. the fact is rear facing is safer than forward facing, possibly up to 5 times more. Whether you choose to take that on or not is irrelevant to the fact and I do question how a parent could know that and decide against it. I couldn’t care less if that’s mom shaming or not, car seat safely really isn’t that complicated

I’m not talking about Kim though. I’ve said that I believe she made the wrong decision. My point is that this has become a wider debate about rear facing and the fact that every parent should make that choice as it is the safest. I’m pointing out that it’s not a one size fits all approach. There are genuine reasons why some choose not to and I think people need to be a bit more respectful of that without branding all parents who forward face irresponsible because the research is there to support the other option

As for car seat safety from the 70s. My dad often tells of him smoking next to my mothers hospital bed in the ward after having my sister, is that ok now aswell then? We’ve moved on, she really is thick, she prob doesn’t even need ivf they’re probably just not doing it correctly.
She’s putting him at huge risk it’s as simple as that

It's such a pathetic cop out that she knows her child best. That might be the case for instinctive things around parenting, but unless she knows that he has some sort of superhuman exoskeleton that makes him immune to collisions then he is the same flesh and bone vulnerable little human as any other 6 month old.

I think she's portraying herself as such a self absorbed person. Everything is about putting her feelings and her right to enjoy Ollie over his safety. She's not saying he's as safe as he could be because he's clearly not.

Also, I find it ironic that she's going on about how no-one is going to take her happiness away when actually she's the one most likely to do that herself. If that precious little baby was badly hurt or worse due in large part because of her stubborn arrogance, how could she live with that?

After losing my first son I live in such fear of something happening to the others. I just keep telling myself to control the controllables. It makes me so mad that this simple controllable thing is being so badly handled. I just hope they never have to pay the price, I really do. I also hope no-one is influenced by this.

Safety isn’t a choice, it’s soley up to a parent to keep their child safe, any parent who is informed and decides to forward face for absolutely no reason are literally putting their baby in danger..

I actually liked her up to this point my daughter is 16 months and 14 kgs and still fits in her baby seat so I’m sorry but you are lying that he’s out grown it and if he did go rear facing it’s the most talked about thing at the moment so even a quick google search would tell her.
