Actually disgusted by that tantrum tonight, I’ve liked dim Kim in the past and enjoyed following her story but that’s enough for me. How dare she go after some well meaning people trying to look after HER child, something she should be doing instead of screaming into the phone like is she actually alright? That outburst from what she said was four or five messages? I don’t know why she’s worried about the messages anyway she’s obviously vile and common enough to deal with anyone who comes her way, she needs a doctors appointment to try discuss that rage.. no wonder Robbie spends his life on the road. I sincerely hope she calms down and puts in the research and doesn’t knowingly put her son in harms way out of pride, do better Kim

Not putting down Smyths employees in any way either but there are retail staff at a toy store, not some car seat specialists. I’ve a feeling you’ll read here Kim so if you so please contact the lovely bunch who work for the RSA Check It Fits

I actually can't believe it, how stupid and dangerous can she be?! Even in the infographic she posted it said approx age 9months. Is he even 6 months yet?!

ETA she should go to the Check It Fits service and tell us what they say......
Ron would have a stroke if he saw that! I have big boys, off the charts big boys, and they’re both still rear facing. Seats are expensive but for a bit extra she could have gotten a Joie and kept him rear facing for another while. If she went into Smyths to get it she could have easily gone done the road to Tony Kealy and gotten proper advice, they’re in the same industrial estate.

I just saw a vid of another Irish insta person whose little baby girl passed away yesterday. It’s left me broken and wondering how Kim could be so cavalier with her precious baby.

I’m mortified for her that she’s posting that infographic like it’s a middle finger to the world, when to the left of the bit she circled, it says how much safer infant carriers/rear facing seats are, and that it’s best for at least 12-15 months.

This is what I thought.

The thing she circled said 9 months..the piece beside it said infant car seat up to 12/13 months.

It doesn't validate her point whatsoever. More so validated everyone else's.

Heartbreaking. What they wouldn't have given to keep little Evie safe. Kim is an idiot of the highest order. The same tit with promoting unsafe Doppler's in pregnancy, sharing awful breastfeeding advice, but this is next level. I wish these insta types would grow an ounce of humility. We all get it wrong sometimes. I'd have a million times more respect for someone who said 'thanks so much for the messages, first time mum here finding my way and now I see there are better seat options and I'll be changing in the morning' I publicly commented on a post from a UK insta person this week (not a massive following- 8k maybe). She'd done a reel about a funny dance to make her baby move (heavily pregnant). Also gave dangerous and outdated advice that she always finds sugary cold drinks gets baby moving on a quiet day. I've had a full term stillbirth and am passionate about sharing the importance of movement monitoring and a lot of other stillbirth mums commented and messaged her too. I was shocked that she messaged me back to apologise. We ended up having a good chat. I educated her and pointed her to resources like kicks Count for the best info and said I think it would be great if she could share that she got it wrong and share accurate advice. I don't think she ever did frustratingly but at least she made an attempt to be engaged. It's awful how out of the ordinary that type of response is.

I’m so sorry that happened to you @Thumper .
I’m a first time mammy and have no allusions that I’m doing everything perfect 100% of the time. And I know I’ll mess up plenty!
However-and this crucial- I’m not too arrogant to take advice on safety. And I certainly wouldn’t get that defensive and shout people down when they mean well.

Imagine having that rage inside you and also allowing your child to witness it, poor little boy must have been so upset to have his mammy shouting behind him and no one else even in the room with them like just her holding him and shouting into a phone? I’m not saying she was before anyone thinks I’m making some type of allegation but she was so off the wall when I first seen it I thought she had a drink on her

Bloody hell that was some rant 😂 what a psycho.....I wonder how long she will carry on with the "does this make me a bad mom" jibes, she has so little going on in her life I can see this running for a while yet.

Nice way to carry on in front of your baby btw Kim, good job 👌

Let’s all not forget that his daddy who drives him around is a novice driver who only got his licence when he was born.

I know it’s been said here that she’s not close to her family but someone needs to have a word with her. It’s very obvious motherhood and the insta mom life wasn’t what she thought it would be.

take some time away from the internet please for your own sake like. Poor baba

I’m actually shocked at the gall off her try Halfords Kim they have trained specialists in car seat fittings, no offence to people working in smyths but they only go off the guidelines of the products they sell they aren’t trained. I actually liked her up to this point my daughter is 16 months and 14 kgs and still fits in her baby seat so I’m sorry but you are lying that he’s out grown it and if he did go rear facing it’s the most talked about thing at the moment so even a quick google search would tell her. And the rant is just ridiculous grow up love before you do serious damage to the little boy and listen to people who maybe have a bit more experience than you

Haven't been on Kim's thread in ages but legged it here after tonights dramatics 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

This one really does have tit for brains doesn't she.. 😬
Almost a decade ago in my early 20s I had my first baba. When she was 11months her nana bought the next stage car seat. I looked at extended rear facing, think it was a fairly new concept, but we simply hadn't a pot to piss in but knew she was better off rear facing for longer. So I kept her in her infant carrier till she outgrew it at 15months.

This dope is pure ignorant in every respect. She's one of these dipshits who uses the phrase "mammy knows best" and "happy mom, happy baby" as justification for her uselessness.

Definitely lying. My 14month old would be >90th centile for height and weight and she would still be in her infant seat right now only that her baby brother needed it when she was 12 months! So she's rear facing in her 4yo brothers old joie seat. If I can manage it, both money and car seat configuration wise, I'll keep her rear facing past 18kg.

I'm not sure how she reckons being 34yrs of age makes her an authority on everything. Yes Kim you might be 34 but I have seen 16yr old girls with more maturity and cop on than you.

Also she seems weirdly obsessed with Aine Lynch....Jesus girl go make a few real friends not fantasy Insta ones

I’m not one to mam shame anyone, lord knows I’m far from a perfect mother myself, but how can she blatantly put her precious little baby in danger like that!? It’s widely known how dangerous it is to forward face such a small baby and it just shows how utterly unintelligent this woman is. Poor little baby doesn’t stand a chance

I think she gave the game away when she went on about how he screams so much in the car, that he hates the car seat. She wanted him forward facing cause she thinks it will shut him up. As usual Kim's needs before all else.

She really needs to YouTube 5 point harness and rearward car seats, as well as crash test videos.. There is SO much info online about them and how they are Far safer. Yes legally you can put them at 9kg. But he's not hit 6mths yet. I don't give a tit that she 'can'.. But jesus, why do it when there are plenty of amazing seats available that are rear facing for heavier weight. I know people that kept kids in them till 3 or 4. Forward facing in a crash is so dangerous when too small. Necks snap so easily, they can be internally decapitated, organs damaged from force.. At best!! In the UK its law that babies must be rear facing till 15mths. A quick look on RSA page says they should stay rear facing till they reach the Max weight of the baby seat.
