Not baby related but my 8yo is taking the piss... sent her in with a packed lunch and I got a notification on her school app telling me she'd booked herself a school dinner and telling me to pay for it! Unreal, little sod

I know I shouldn't complain because we've got the bed.
But this place is awful

It absolutely stinks for a start.
We're on a ward with 10 other beds. All squeezed in.
It has her bed, my bed with no space so I have to crawl onto it from the end. And then a cabinet the other side. All squished together.

She's supposed to have 3 different lots of antibiotics every 4 hours.
Since we got here at midnight, they've given her none.
I questioned it this morning and they said "Well, we don't have one of them"

They're supposed to be giving her constant calpol and ibuprofen to keep her temperature down. Instead of waiting for it to rise because that's when she goes sleepy and not very responsive.
But they refused to give her any when we got here because her temperature was down, so I woke up at 5am and she was roasting hot. Check her temperature... 42

On a lighter note, I’ve just spent the last half an hour stuck in my garden. Getting some housework done, went out to wash the windows, left baby inside because I can see her through the patio doors. Didn’t expect she’d pull herself up and proceed to lean on the patio door for the next 25 minutes. So I couldn’t then open the door again without knocking her over. We literally just stood there looking at each other the whole time til she decided to move so I could get in

I have a very poorly baby girl she’s been admitted to hospital with bronchitis. She woke up today wheezing. We’re still waiting for a bed to come available at the childrens .

Was my last day of maternity leave today, I handed in my notice last month. Havnt had any goodbyes or thanks you from my manager or the company. I worked there for 4 years, I worked 5 days a week in person during the pandemic. Just feel a bit sad this is how it’s ended. Only message I’ve had is from another colleague telling me my maternity cover is being kept on as my replacement .
A positive today was bedtime only took 45 mins, mr dipdab managed to magically settle both crying babies

Update on the school dinner sitch: Apparently she couldn't resist the offer of a cheeky roast and apple crumble so she just HAD to order one. She goes "it's only a few pounds mummy, and it was so yummy I might have it next week" so I've messaged her teacher and told her not to let her order one again if she's got a packed lunch.

Baby is cross because he loves you so much, and you had the audacity () to leave … and now you are back he can let out all those feelings that he couldn’t with daddy. It is really common for our kids to be “the worst behaved” with mum, and better behaved with everyone else. It’s because they feel safest with us, and they know they can let all their grumpy, cross, shitty behaviour out on us. Even the littlest ones!
Also, maybe KW has made things sound better because he a) doesn’t want you to worry that baby was unhappy without you and b) wants you to think really highly of his solo parenting skills. It doesn’t mean it was all fun and games in reality.
Babies have crappy days too, and that’s not a reflection on anyone or anything in their lives, sometimes we just have shitty days even when everything should be perfect.

I’m sorry you’re feeling so lonely. It’s a feeling I think that many of us have shared at some point in the motherhood baby journey, sadly

I am going to start a campaign to elect you as prime minister. Your posts are always kind and wise and you put what I want to say into words that I’d never manage to come up with.

Besides. Apparently they let anyone have a go at being PM these days. Might as well elect someone nice next time

KW went out to watch football today, was supposed to be having a few drinks (haven’t we heard that one before) and dinner after and said he wouldn’t be late.

He doesn’t have a key because we’re living at my parents still, so I’m having to wait up to let him in. Messaged him at 11 and he was on the bus to the tube station. Messaged again about 10 mins ago because I’m tired and thought he’d be back by now… he’d fallen asleep (drunk) on the tube and woke up at the end of the line, no less than an hour and a half from where we live - not even on the right line either!

He’s now got to travel 25 stops back into London to try and change to get another tube and then a bus home. I haven’t been to sleep yet, won’t be able to sleep properly until he’s back and the baby is now shifting around in her travel cot which means any minute now she’ll be crying to come into bed with me.

KW has emerged. Said sorry but maintains last night was “worse for him” because he had to spend £60 getting a cab home. I said what about the fact that I couldn’t go to sleep til you got in at home 3am? The fact id had the baby on my own all day because you went out at 10am? And the fact that she woke me up at 6 this morning and then I’ve been downstairs with her from 7? All while you get a nice lay in?

His response - “well I said sorry”



On a lighter note, have those of you with babies 12m+ started using bedding like blankets and pillows yet? After 5 weeks in her travel cot I want to get some nice new bedding for when we go home and back to her proper cot. Not sure whether to stick to the fitted sheets and sleeping bag or swap her to something else?

Morning all! We survived the move, all went super smoothly which was great. The house is beyond dirty and disgusting, I’ve never cleaned so much in my life, and yet it is never ending. So so grubby but we are making good progress.
Hope you are all doing ok, I miss the daily chats. Only 8 days until the Wi-Fi is connected…

These hospital beds are so uncomfortable.
The only way I can describe how it feels when I've been laying here for a while is... When whales beach themselves and they say that they can die from their own weight crushing them being on land.

My vinted addiction is ridiculous, I hide them all in my car normally until MrGG is at work and delete all proof from the cameras but I’d forgot because it was raining. He went into my car to get the pram from the boot and there were 13 parcels just stuffed in there waiting for my moment to sneak them in 🥷

Don’t think I’ve mentioned it on here. Baby Waka has been waking with trapped wind every night since I went back to work. Can take her up to two hours of crying before it gets out. I threw bottles away incase she was gulping, massage her tummy, do the bicycle leg thing before bed, x2 doses of colic drops, avoid legumes and grapes (that’s what started it). Been to gp and broke down, she said she’s not a food specialist and referred us back to allergy clinic. Anyway. I’m broken. As I was up with her crying last night thought about handing my notice in at work. This is not sustainable. I’m exhausted.

It's my FIL's birthday today and we are going round to their house for lunch, it's nothing fancy, just soup and to hang out, not even all of his children are coming etc.
But because he made a jokey comment to 3yo the other day when he said bye saying "see you in a few days for my party!" she has been awake since 3am bouncing around asking how long until we go to grandad's party and whether there will be a bouncy castle and balloons and party games and no amount of telling her will convince her those things won't happen

For his birthday he might get murdered husband was tempted to put her in the car at about 5am and take her to their house seeing as this is their fault!
