It's finally here! After what feels like 70 billion years, Ruby has finally unveiled her latest ode to incompetence and uploaded the second entry in her 'Dissertation Diary' series. Not that you'd know that from the title.

Ruby's in such a giving mood and her brain's so feeble that she doesn't even wait until the video has started to offer up a kernel of ineptitude, and fucks up the title royally.

'Come on a Solo-Research Trip With Me (studying 100 year old letters)'

oh-my-god-disappointed.gif

First, she displays her patented inability to use capital letters in a correct, or even consistently incorrect way. This is the chronicle of how one puddle-brained ignoramus tried to write the world's greatest dissertation, and even the title of the video betrays how feeble a grasp she has of the basic language she's studying.

Why is the text in brackets/parentheses not capitalised? Who the fuck knows? Ruby uses the statistical probability approach to the English language: If she pronounces words and uses capital letters, grammar, punctuation and every other aspect of English in a wildly different and surprising way every time, she's bound to be right eventually even if just by accident and the law of averages.

But she also has no idea how titling an ongoing series works.

The first episode in the series had a similarly incorrect approach to capital letters:

'The Dissertation Diary (entry one)'

But it was at least clear that this was the first episode of a clear-cut series. That might be the first time she's ever done that, and it's something I've been saying she needs to do for the longest time - delineate her videos into clear, distinct series (vlogs, hauls, ad features, tea tastings and so on) with similarly clear titles, instead of mashing every single video idea together into an overflowing kitchen sink of hastily chopped and tasteless vlog chunks, each video indistinguishable from the last.

'The Dissertation Diary (entry one)'
'Come on a Solo-Research Trip With Me (studying 100 year old letters)'

It's like if, when naming the Shrek series, a studio executive was like, "'Shrek 2'? Far too predictable! It'll make it just too damn easy for parents and ticket-buying audiences to know exactly which movie they're about to see and which other movie they need to have seen first! Let's call the second movie 'Come on a Big, Exciting Adventure With an Ogre and a Donkey (the ogre has marital problems)'! That'll get asses in seats!"

c1cd4871b0ae4c785cf26576cadc2dc7d9dd.jpg

Onto the video, and Ruby can't even get through her first sentence without awkward, shoddy editing.

"HALLO, it's Roobee--[JARRING CUT]--AND WALCOME tyoo thee SACKOND entry in the Dissertation Diary," she says. And new and future viewers will be like, "Wait, I need to have watched previous entries?! The title made no mention of this, what the fuck?! I didn't sign on for this shit! I'm out."

Unti765657.jpg

Ruby launches into a manic, sped-up ramble because she's feeling VARRY lucky right now, because she emailed a request to the University of Texas Library for access to some of their digitized archive material and they actually responded!

This has less to do with luck and more to do with it being their job, and Ruby received the exact same treatment any other person making a request would have. But in her mind, the university (and the universe) recognised how VARRY SPASHULL she is and what an important impact her dissertation will have on future scholarship.

She's more excited that she didn't have to pay than anything else, because the last thing this money-hoarding Scrooge wants is to give money to underfunded libraries.

Unti7656-909709-057.jpg

She mentions that she's wasted some time writing a pointless timetable. The date is marked 30th January 2022, so it's been nearly a month since she filmed this.

Reminder: The last dissertation video was allegedly filmed on 19th January (though it was another 'numerous days of footage under the guise of being a single day's hard work' ruse). Even with her usual deceitful editing trickery to condense weeks of progress into a fabricated 24 hour vlog, she's still no further ahead here.

Unti7656-90767869709-057.jpg

Generic, royalty-free piano music plays as Ruby pours tea in her grimy kitchen, there's timelapse footage of clocks, Ruby lights candles and the audio levels are all over the place as the loud crack of Ruby's SYOOPAH SUSTAINABULL gas lighter sounds like a gunshot yet again. It's indistinguishable from all her other videos.

Unti7656-907678697789709-057.png

On her desk, there's a notebook with a section titled 'Dissertation: January's End'. There's no indication whether this his her faux-lyrical title for her dissertation, or just her twee, weird, overly dramatic way of titling her notes from literally the end of January.

There's a selection below titled 'BRAIN DUMP'. I'm not sure how this is any different from every other platform for writing and speaking that she uses to shit out all her unfiltered, nonsensical babblings, but it's hilariously barren of thoughts.

She's also clearly not using her PONKIN' PRODUCTIVITEE NYOTEBOOK that she ALWAYS uses.

Ruby shows timelapse footage of her screen - she's trawling the internet for material on Cicero to crib from and compiling it all into Notion. She stops off at YouTube to figure out who Cicero is and why she's decided to write about him all of a sudden.

Spoilers: It's because one of her tutors wrote a paper on Cicero and she thinks that her showing an interest will curry favour somehow:

Unti7656-90767869678987988877987789709-057.jpg

After that footage, which is bereft of narration and context, Ruby shows off her photo reel:

Unti7656-9076786968877789709-057.jpg

She flips through several pages of 'The Letters of Lewis Carroll', to show us...something?

Unti7656-90767869678987988877987809789709-057.jpg

A wild and frazzled-looking Ruby reappears as though emerging from a night's sleep in a hedge.

She explains that she's just gone through the "COLLACKTED LATTERS OF LEWIS CARROLL" and "scanned in" the letters she wants to "annotate and link-k-look-at more clyosely". Judging by the warped images on her phone, she didn't scan anything, she just took a half-assed photo of several pages.

"I'm nyow gonna dyoo some more resaarch intyoo Cicero. I don't know much about Cicero's latters, but they're important, syoo..."

Dementia has taken hold already. Despite already showing that she's researched a bunch of stuff about Cicero using the power of Google, Ruby has already forgotten this happened. Oh no!

Ruby, this is your latest reminder that the body requires nutrients for the brain to function.

Along with her brain being shrivelled away to nothing by the ravages of malnutrition, the other option is that she just didn't pay attention in editing and slapped this shit together the wrong way round, even though she's had a month to carry out the very basic editing she does. But that can't be it, right? She's a perfectionist! Her comment section is filled with praise for her editing skills!

Whether it's cognitive decline, sheer lazy incompetence or a combo of the two, none of this shit looks good for any reason.

Ruby states that Cicero's letters are important, but doesn't explain why, or why they're relevant to her dissertation in any way. It's likely she doesn't know herself other than her being a transparent suck-up.

Unti7656-907656709-057.jpg

She slurps some tea like some disgusting troll, and if that weren't enough, after a brief shot of her scrolling through some more critical material on Cicero, she segues into this:

Unti7656-90765609-890057.jpg

for-fucks-sake-saturday-night-live.gif

What does this have to do with her dissertation? Again, she really needs to start splitting this shit into distinct, separate series.

Her entire channel is an interchangeable mess of half-assed vlogs full of lies, shoehorned ads and continuity errors.

I came here to see you fail at writing your dissertation, Ruby, not hear you disgustingly and violently slurping away like a stray vacuum cleaner nozzle landed in a mug of tea. Take that shit elsewhere, or at least put an 'anti-ASMR' content warning on, damn...

anna-kendrick-gross.gif

And, yes, this is a shoehorned ad section:

Unti766786757.jpg

She looks at the enclosed note and pulls an "Aw, you guys...you shouldn't have!" face:

Unti7667986957.jpg

No, Ruby. They didn't send you this out of the goodness of their heart. You know this. You were gifted this in exchange for advertising it, which you chose to do in a completely unrelated video to call attention to it that much more.

Surprising no-one, Ruby doesn't properly declare this as a gifted product. Saying Bird & Blend 'sent some tea' is too vague and ambiguous. This is an ad for a gifted product from a company she's advertising. It should be mentioned in the description, especially since she's got affiliate links for B&B in there.

Here's a handy guide to all the advertising rules you keep breaking, Ruby:

You were paid with a gifted product. That needs to be declared clearly and fully.

She pulls a bunch of faces that are so over-the-top and performative that I'm surprised she didn't just make them the clickbait-y thumbnail:

Unti76676878#986957.jpg

Unti7667978786757.jpg

I mean...

Unti76676878#567986957.jpg

Unsurprisingly, like every product she's ever been gifted, it's all "SYO GOOD!"

"VARRY chocolate-y, but more beetroot-y than chocolate-y," she says, putting several food critics into early retirement with her astute and descriptive review skills.

"Beetroot is one of my VARRY FAVOURITE foods," she adds, like a five-year old introducing themselves to the class.

giphy.gif

"ANNYWAY. I'm gyonna get on with annotating the latters," she says to the camera in the tone you'd use for someone who was derailing your work with idle chitchat. This is your fucking video, Ruby, nobody else asked for an unrelated ad break full of slurping nightmare fuel.

U575769809857.jpg

Onto the annotating, the first thing that's apparent is that Ruby is viewing these on her gifted Remarkable tablet. Ruby insisted on wasting time using original manuscripts and scans for some reason, but then views them on a tablet incapable of displaying colour, so they'll look far less accurate to the original document and a bunch of the detail will be filtered out.

Her annotated comments are obvious at best, bafflingly stupid at worst.

U575780690879809857.png

She mentions that the use of dashes is 'colloquial like child-letters'.

She makes the observation that 'big handwriting = easier to read', as though it were intentionally done for the recipient and not the result of, say, the scan size, or some letters being more cramped to fit on smaller pages, or any number of other explanations. And regardless, it has zero bearing on anything.

She notes than an envelope has been 'ripped open' as though it's the key to some Dan Brown historical mystery that only she can crack.

U5757657.png

She judgementally leaps to the opinion that the handwriting is 'quick and rushed', even as her own shitty handwriting looks like she scribbled it with her fingers glued together and a gun to her head.

U57578069067867879809857.png

She notes that the bottom of a page has been torn off or cropped, as though this was an intentional part of the letter's message or some hidden clue, without considering the idea that this letter was just written on some stray scrap paper. It's also a hundred fucking years old, and may not have been in the same condition after a century of storage in various places than when it was written.

If Ruby were a crime scene investigator, she'd be the type to slap a post-it note on the corpse that said 'Dead body?' and leap to wild conspiratorial theories for a very simple crime, based on nothing but her own feeble-minded, malnourished imagination.

And that's it for the annotation.

So far, Ruby has yet to actually shed any light on any of the dissertation process. There's no explanation why she's so insistent and intent on using these manuscript scans. There's no further detail as to what her dissertation is actually about beyond 'Lewis Carroll's letters'. She doesn't expand on why she's included Cicero's letters in her research. There's no information at all.

I'm not even sure Ruby understands what a diary is. As a document of a portion of time for Ruby to look back on, this is pointless because she's fabricated the events depicted and fudged the timelines so much. For other people to watch, it's equally pointless as it's just Ruby staring at screens, showing clocks ticking and explaining nothing at all.

U5757857.png

After the annotating session, she mentions that she has a dissertation meeting.

"My dissertation syoopervisor is HONESTLY SYO NICE and...syoo...this is a really FON meeting," she says. No mention of what was discussed, what she learned, and so on. Ruby shows her screen as though this will elucidate things, but it's just a shot of her notes from an unrelated children's lit module. Again with the incompetent editing.

U57657657857.jpg

Suddenly it's the next day and Ruby's in Cross Keys Cafe.

You might remember it from that time that Ruby spent most of a day taking up a table and a plug socket to herself while ignoring all Covid guidelines and not ordering a single thing to eat or drink:

Here she appears to do the exact same thing, bringing a travel mug with her and seemingly buying nothing.

U5765765657857.jpg

Ruby starts getting defensive about her archive visit, having clearly read people (likely on here, hopefully from her dissertation supervisor) pointing out what an unnecessary waste of time it is at undergrad level.

"I dyon't TECHNICALLY have to gyo and see these latters," she says, rolling her eyes at her critics bullies. "Thayr not digitalised, but I-umm--they could've sent photos..."

So there's no "technically" about it. You don't need to go, and if you're already behind and struggling to find a topic to write a clear about, wasting time on a manuscript-viewing trip across the country is pointless. Those letters are available to you online and in print. A manuscript serves no value to you, especially at undergrad level.

"But I wanted to dyoo at least one...archive visit? for my dissertation," she adds. "It's just something I really wanted to do."

U576556757857.jpg

She mentions that she's reading 'The Universe in a Handkerchief' by Martin Gardner, a book about Lewis Carroll's word and math puzzles. She's going to have to set her dissertation aside for now, though - she has a creative writing project due tomorrow and it's still not finished.

She furrows her brow, not looking confident that it'll get done or be any good.

But hey, you know what's always a great plan when you're falling behind with everything? Wasting time on manuscript hunts and extracurricular archive trips that serve no purpose!

U5765567577678857.jpg

An indeterminate time later, Ruby reappears, pointing her finger and announcing that she's been writing 'nonsense poetry'. It's a distraction from her dissertation, and by her own admission, not related other than a tangential link to Lewis Carroll's writing.

Ruby tries to justify her meandering diversions as "the cool bit" of writing a dissertation, "like...not necessarily doing things just forrr...umm...which is gonna be relevant for the wahhk, boht ALSO just...FOLLOWING resarrch tangents? And you've got the space with a dissertation to just..go off--you're fully trying to involve yourself fully in the culture of it--that's how I'M treating it. This is just a PROJACKT that I want to be folly IMMARSED IN."

Translation:

giphy.gif

Ruby is in full denial. She is completely clueless as to what a dissertation is or what she's supposed to be doing. She is still wrapped up in her bizarre daydream aesthetic vision of what writing a dissertation looks like. This does not resemble reality in any way.

A dissertation is just a 10,000 word essay with a bit more focus on original thought and more scope to expand on your argument, but it still needs to be a clear, coherent thesis and isn't a license to waste time going off-piste to explore unrelated crap. It is not a dark academia adventure through ivy-covered libraries and dusty archive rooms. There is no dissertation "culture" to immerse yourself in. Just sit down and write the damn thing. If you enjoy it, even better, but that's not a requirement or a guarantee.

This is her obsession with to-do lists on a grander scale. She loves adding meaningless, time-wasting bullshit to her to-do list so that she can tick it off and feel productive, even though she's accomplished nothing. And here she is, wasting time on irrelevant crap. But she's spending time doing something vaguely academic, so she can fool herself into thinking she's making progress. She's not.

And then she gives a dramatic reading of the poem she's written.

89798879.jpg

"Nobody knew what colour it was,
was it purple or lilac-y blue?
Was it green as the peel
on the one rinning friel(?)
which is a kind of chocolatey bean!

The mouse with no tail
who had ears full of kale
no whiskers, no fur and no eyes
This mouse with no tail
who was really a snail
said that they were all telling lies.

It's ACTUALLY orange
as tangerine porridge
the kind that you serve with baked beans!

But I suppose that it's easy
when you get a bit queasy
to mix up your orange and green."

please-dont-do-that-ever-again-sandra.gif

Yeah...there's no way she's going to graduate this year, and definitely not with the grades she's hoping for/believes she's entitled to. Between procrastinating from her dissertation with crap like with this and her also having to rely on her creative writing "skills" to get her through a whole other module, she's screwed.

897978798879.jpg

After her mental breakdown poetry reading, it's a new day and Ruby announces she's going to actually start writing the dissertation that she's been researching for over a year.

And what better soundtrack for this than...In the Hall of the Mountain King. Again.

she-cant-keep-doing-this-calvin-payne.gif

Ruby has written 700 words and claims this has given her a sense of structure. Umm...it's a 10,000 word essay, Ruby. 700 words of the first section isn't exactly a good blueprint, especially since it's likely gibberish.

She's excited to be making progress, even though she admits she won't end up using any of it in her final dissertation. She's on such a roll, she says she's going to keep writing the next section.

And then she immediately gives up to go make tea.

897978786876798879.jpg

After supposedly writing another 400 words, Ruby leaves for the station, wearing a beret like a chef's hat for some reason.

She claims she's going to go back home so that she "can more easily travel to Surrey to gyo tyooo the archives whaahr these Lewis Carroll letters are stored".

Average train time (each way) to Ruby's family home: 4 hours 10 minutes.
Average train time (each way) to Surrey: 3 hours.

It wasn't easier at all, she just used it as another flimsy excuse to go home to mummy.

8979787868767976888879.png

In her family kitchen, she awkwardly zooms in on her laptop to show that she's making huge progress! Only she's quite clearly just written some unrelated gibberish in Notion again. She's actually talking about Genetic Editing, not Genetic Studies (or "Genesis Studies", as she's written).

She's just spewed word soup on the page and not made anything resembling a point.

So, let's go back to that video title again for a sec...

"Come on a Solo-Research Trip With Me (studying 100 year old letters)"

8979787868767976867588879.jpg

If this is a solo trip...who's that with you, Ruby?

If a university student had titled their video 'Come on a Research Trip With Me', the default assumption would be that it were a solo trip. Because that's what you're supposed to do at university level, especially with a dissertation. Ruby still views the world and her place as being rooted in primary school, where the default is that you're doing everything in groups, and if you go on a field trip, it must be with the whole class.

She makes a point of stressing that this is a SOLO trip, as if it's some massive feat of independence for a uni student (who owns her own fucking home, no less).

And then her mummy drives her there...

laugh-emilia-clarke.gif

897978786876797568576867588879.jpg

tumblr_myikrwJHfu1t15lz6o1_250.gif

It's hilarious how there's always a family birthday or wedding, or one of her parents just happens to be in the neighbourhood hundred of miles and hours of travel away, to justify Ruby running home every single week or getting chauffeured everywhere by mummy and daddy.

Her mother undoubtedly had no cause to be there other than as an unpaid driver for Ruby and was likely sat in the car park twiddling her thumbs until Ruby needed to go home.

8098857686754564688879.jpg

Ruby's at the archive library finally and you can practically sense the disappointment. Ruby claims she wasn't sure what to expect, but you just know she was picturing this:

liotheque_humaniste_de_Selestat_21_janvier_2014-97.jpg

1623680067938615-dark-academia-1.jpg

She wanted to immerse herself in Dark Macademia and the aesthetic "culture" of it, and yet in reality, the Surrey History Centre isn't dusty, tomb-like libraries and grand, Ivy League buildings. Archives won't look like aesthetic Pinterest boards in real life.

Her first stop at the History Centre is a coin-operated-locker room similar to the one at the public swimming pool.

Ironically, she'd have gotten closer to the Dark Academia fantasy if she'd stayed on campus and just gone to the library at Exeter University. But she wanted to be special, and be doing something the other students weren't. She wanted to approach her dissertation like a Dark Academia adventure and aim for Master's level with it. And the reality is very different.

She says her visit to the archives was split into two sessions and she didn't film anything in the morning for some reason. At midday, she meets up with her mum for lunch, of course.

80988576867588879.jpg

Ruby's VARRY happy to be reunited with mummy for lunch after two whole hours apart!

Of all the places in the world, they choose Woking Pizza Express - now famous for being the fake alibi of choice for notable royal child diddler Prince Andrew. Ironic, considering Lewis Carroll's reputation (and Ruby's compulsive lies usually being about as convincing as Prince Andrews' infamous trainwreck TV interview).

80988576867545646885646879.jpg

"I'm on my lunch break!" Ruby chirps, as though it's some huge novelty to be spending one day not living a life with a wide-open schedule of free time. She and her mum also show off and comment on her key lanyard as though it's some grand, mystical relic, and not something you wear in almost any regular job. Oh, what fun and whimsy, living like the common folk for a day before going back to their manor of filth and swindled charity money!

809885768675456468858658646879.jpg

In the car, Ruby moans that she's looked at three of the eleven letter manuscripts she requested so far and not found any of them useful.

If only there was a way someone could've predicted that this would be the case...

If only there were something like...oh, I don't know...common sense to tell her that she didn't need to go hunting down manuscripts for an undergrad dissertation that she hadn't even narrowed down to a clear thesis question yet.

If only there were a way she could look at photos, or even just transcripts of the letters first, to see if they'd be of any value to her, before she went looking at manuscripts for no other reason than the superficial element of it.

If only she had a dissertation supervisor to tell her that this was a waste of time.

It's such a shame none of those options exist - it would've saved her mum burning a lot of petrol. And we know Ruby ALWAYS cares about the environment, and NAVVER would've taken a car instead of a train unless her mum was going there on the exact same day already.

8098857686754564688678658658646879.jpg

Ruby says she wasn't allowed to film any of Carroll's letters, and since almost the whole reason she went was to be seen indulging her Dark Macademia fantasies and she has no real interest in research and learning, this must've been a huge disappointment for her.

Instead she decided to grab some other letters at random that she was allowed to film, just to get some footage of herself holding letter manuscripts.

Again, if only there was some way she could've found out ahead of time if she'd be able to film the collection of letters or not.

809885768675456468865675778658658646879.jpg

And if you have any interest in Millicent Fawcett/the women's suffrage movement, weep now as you witness Ruby rubbing her perpetually grimy hands, fresh from being coated in grease at Pizza AX-PRASS, all over these irreplaceable Fawcett letters.

The only things she has to say is how she loves how you can tell that many of the letters were written in such a rush - an observation she seems to make about every single letter she's ever seen.

65755675.jpg

She films herself unplugging her laptop from the floor sockets for some reason, presumably because she's never been in an office or call centre environment, so the concept of a plug socket in the floor must be such a whimsical novelty to her.

6575456465675.jpg

"I think my mum might be parked around here..." Ruby pretends like her mum hasn't just been sat in the car outside the whole time.

657545979866465675.jpg

"Everyone there was SYO NOICE as well. Like...SYO NOICE," she says, with a very passive-aggressive tone, furrowing her eyebrows and giving a strained grimace.

Yeah...Ruby definitely hated this whole experience. What a magical day!

657545979866575465675.jpg

And you know she wasn't going to finish a video without a desperate Waterstones plug. This time, it's one that makes no grammatical sense. "I bought these Votes for Women's badges in Waterstones!" So...you bought multiple votes for badges belonging to women?

Reminder: Ruby is in her final year of an English Lit degree and claims to get consistent First-class grades.

65754597985675.jpg

It's time to head back to uni and Ruby looks on the verge of tears that she has to get the train back by herself instead of being driven all the way by mummy and daddy like usual.

Damn those bullies online, forcing her to have to get a train by herself like an adult once every several months to prove she's not completely over-reliant on mummy and daddy! How dare they!

6575459798565464575.jpg

On the train back, she shows a final list of the letters she looked at, then mentions she spent the rest of the journey reading and making notes on Cicero's letters. For what purpose? She doesn't say. In fact, none of this video sheds any new light on her dissertation. She appears to have made no progress, she still seems totally lost and aimless and isn't any closer to growing a brain.

There's another ad for PONKY PLURDAHURDAHEE at the end of the video. Last video, she forgot to actually check it before tacking it on, so it ended the video with a 'Before we start this video!" intro. Rather than take five minutes to film a new video, Ruby just took the same reused video, recycled it again and awkwardly snipped out the "and before we start the video" part. So it goes "Jost a QUICK remoinder--[JARRING CUT]--THAT I HAVE a stationery shop". The planner's STILL available (yeah, no shit) as is the "farsstahll nyotebook" that she keeps talking about.

Just sheer stupidity and incompetence from beginning to end.

Roll on episode three, so we can see the latest collision in this disastrous car wreck.

Tattlers, I have been looking for clues in her video from today, and I think I have some news... When she does "some bits for work" (LOL) there is a card on the table. I can't make out everything but I'm pretty sure that there is something about "the fabulous news" what looks like "Jesus College" and "So thrilled for you !"

The "Daily" University Vlogs might be dead and buried, but the party isn't over, because Ruby's here to introduce us to a "typical weekend at university". I'm not quite sure how she'd know what a typical uni weekend would look like, considering she's only spent around one weekend a year away from home, but still!

If you thought Ruby's desperate need to have her mother post Cricut accessories to her (along with a bunch of powdered food and seasoning that she didn't need) was weird, as though a Cricut was something she'd never use unless someone was paying her to, well...it turns out that's because a Cricut is something she'd never use unless someone was paying her to. This video is sponsored by Cricut, which Ruby will proceed to shove in a cupboard and never use again.

Ruby starts her "typical weekend" by exposing her forehead to the morning light. The ravages of malnutrition have never been more apparent, and Ruby's hairline has thrown up the white flag and completely retreated.

Untitled010.jpg

Ruby drinks from a Halloween mug, despite the scariest thing she's willing to expose herself to in October being the prospect of not reminding anyone that it's autumn, or reading less than 6 unnecessary or unrelated critical essays per module.

Despite her apparent obsession with Autumn, she's still soundtracking her videos by picking a Christmassy song from the rotation of four overused songs she uses for her videos and dressing like she's preparing for Ol' Saint Nick to visit and bring her the gift of more privilege.

Untitled019.jpg

Ruby makes camomile tea and matcha tea because she "couldn't decide". This might seem like simple, wasteful stupidity, but is actually a perfect visual metaphor for Ruby deciding her future prospects: Fail at life beyond uni because she has developed no talents for anything, or fail at life beyond uni because she's completely retreated into childhood and refuses to spend more than 20 minutes without contacting or visiting her parents. Ruby has chosen both options.

Next, there's a DEAFENING CRACK as Ruby doesn't bother setting consistent audio levels yet again and sparks a flame from her gas-powered lighter, because environmental decline is the new sustainability and Ruby evidently can't see in daylight hours without candlelight.

Now that there are sufficient fire hazards burning, it's time to study! Breakfast? We don't know her.

Ruby says she's working on dissertation prep work by focusing on manuscripts of Emily Dickinson's letters, as evidenced by her showing footage of her writing about Lewis Carroll's letters...

Untitled023.png

....and also some footage of her reading about costumes in Ben Jonson plays while she slightly rephrases sections from critical reading into Notion. It's there we see Ruby's intellectual aptitude on full display, as she offers such startling insight as "jewels = wealth".

Ruby says, "I am fascinated by the materiality of Emily Dickinson's work. She's so aware of her handwriting. You have an awareness from her that she does write in a distinctive way, and I think you see her kind of linking some part of her identity in the way that she writes, which you then get being fed back from the people who know her, who always describe how distinct Emily Dickinson's handwriting IS. It's often compared to fossils?", which is a lot of words to say absolutely nothing at all.

Examples, Ruby. In what way is Emily's handwriting distinctive? And what elements of her personality are shown through said distinctive elements of her handwriting? So far you've offered nothing but rambling, which bodes well for your dissertation, the vague topic of which is already flimsy at best.

While Ruby's rambling about handwriting, apparently she thought this was relevant to the conversation:

Untitled025.jpg

Her sudden love of Perkier bars has nothing to do with the fact that she was gifted them and desperately wants all the free stuff she can get her hands on.

"HELLO IT'S ROOBEE AND TODAY OIY'M GYOING TYOO BE VLOGGING!" What feels like several minutes into the video, Ruby finally intros her video, almost like she edits these things without paying attention to what order she puts footage in the timeline.

Ruby has completely transplanted her obsessively overdependent relationship with her parents onto Blakeney, and has already decided that Blakeney will be reading A Christmas Carol concurrently with her while they both sit next to each other on the sofa...

Usually when they find that someone's been murdering people, neighbours say they never would have suspected it and they never had any inkling such a nice, polite person would be capable of such things, but this obsessive, weird behaviour from Ruby is the exact kind of red flags people will look back on when they find Blakeney's mummified corpse entombed in the walls of Ruby's cottage.

Meanwhile, Blakeney talks to Ruby cheerfully, as though speaking to a small-minded, easily-distracted child, keeping them entertained and engaged with pictures so that they don't run off and burn down the living room. Unsurprisingly, flame-obsessed Ruby is instantly captivated by the pictures of candles and fire.

Untitled027.jpg

Ruby's attention span quickly wanes, so Blakeney puts on an animated childen's film to distract her - but only the beginning of it, because if Ruby does any one thing for more than 15 minutes, she'll have a brain aneurysm.

Ruby writes about the experience as though she were a primary schooler writing about her weekend, complete with misspellings and lack of capitalisation:

Untitled028.jpg

Ruby and Blakeney head to town, and of course, Ruby uses it as another excuse to desperately try to get a sponsorship deal from Waterstones by giving them yet more free advertising. She forgot to get her usual extended shot of the store sign outside, so she just slaps a big, fat WATERSTONES on screen, in case you were in any danger of forgetting which shop Ruby won't stop advertising.

Untitled029.jpg

Eternally wasteful Ruby decides that 'Earthshot: How to Save Our Planet' looks "SO good". Ruby will probably shred the book and use it as abundant packaging to post something insanely tiny to her other home by the fastest, most expensive delivery method possible because sustainability.

Ruby has Blakeney pick out her favourite book covers, rather than her favourite books. Because fake aesthetics over substance is Ruby's entire brand.

After touching everything in Waterstones and visiting no other shops or independent bookstores, Ruby and Blakeney head home and try some 'love potion' tea. A love potion is going to be needed here to win over Blakeney, as Ruby instantly talks over everything she has to say.

Blakeney wants to watch Scream Queens, which Ruby has instantly and dismissively decided looks like "quite bad television" despite never watching television and having no basis for comparison.

It's the next morning and Ruby says she and Blakeney started it by listening to "classical" music downstairs. We don't hear what this music is, but with Ruby's hazy definition of "classical" music, it could have been anything from the score to Downton Abbey to Sam Smith's latest album or possibly the sounds of a passing ice cream van.

Ruby mentions that it's her dad's birthday very soon. Either her dad has a birthday every time Ruby needs an excuse to flee home or write to her parents, or this was recorded weeks ago.

Then we get an extended ad section for Cricut, a 21st Century technological tool which absolutely makes sense for someone who is apparently obsessed with physical letter writing and vintage, Victorian letter-writing habits to endorse.

Untitled031.jpg

Ruby maintains that she absolutely uses the Cricut all the time, not just when it's time for a sponsored, paid video to be uploaded. You can tell she's telling the truth by all the zero times she's used a Cricut in videos and posts that she wasn't being paid by Cricut for.

"This cutting machine is so intuitive and easy to use," Ruby says. So intuitive that Ruby had to watch someone else's instructional video on YouTube to figure out how to use it, despite claiming to use it all the time:

Untitled033.jpg

After making her dad a pretty crappy-looking card that looks like it'll tear apart before it's even in the envelope, Ruby finds the "cutest, most beautiful "autominal" card". In this ad for Cricut in which Ruby's supposed to be showcasing the quality and features of the Cricut, Ruby forgot half of the accessories and has to draw the design onto the card herself in pen.

Untitled0i9.jpg

(Pictured: Ruby Granger being #grateful for more sponsor money.)

This is yet another glaring example of how generally inept Ruby is at all things. The thing she wants to be known for is productivity, and her marquee merch product is her planner - supposedly a monument to her exceptional organisational skills. Only, she's constantly screwing up and forgetting even the most basic things, despite her claims of being a meticulous planner.

Her numerous planners and to-do lists are only a place to remind herself to backflip and brush her teeth, or a place to reward herself for things she's either already done or has only pretended to do. What she constantly fails to do is write down actually useful reminders and plans. Like here, she either knew she had a scheduled Cricut video due, and didn't bother reminding herself or planning to pack everything to take to uni. That or there was no time deadline, and rather than wait until she had all the things she needed to film the video, she threw up an unprofessional, half-assed mess for her sponsor because she's lazy and incompetent.

Untitled099.jpg

"Stop right there," Ruby signifies with an obnoxious finger-point. "There's no time to point out my hypocrisy, lies, ineptitude and general stupidity - not when I could be walking in the rain and reminding everyone that it's October again!"

And then Ruby walks in the rain and reminds everyone that it's October again, pulling the smuggest possible face:

Untitlehhk.jpg

After that, it's time to go shopping again.

Untitlehh.jpg

But wait, Ruby, why didn't you put the name of the shop in big, bold letters on-screen for everyone to see? I mean, it couldn't possibly be that you only did that for Waterstones to make sure they got maximum free advertising in your ongoing begging campaign for a sponsorship, right? And it certainly has nothing to do with you being embarrassed to shop at expensive, upmarket supermarkets while constantly lying about how restricted your budget is, not at all...

Back home, the card that she wrote for her "penpal" is now proudly displayed, open on Ruby's desk.

Untitlehhh.jpg

Ruby's her own penpal? Well, that saves on stamps, at least.

After complaining about how cold it is yet again, Ruby does some awkward ballet exercising while her Exeter University pennant lies discarded on the floor gathering dust.

Then it's time for some patented Ruby exposition, as Ruby shows sped-up footage of her and Blakeney talking while Ruby explains that they talked about an abundance of things, all insightful and magical, and though you can't hear any of it because it's top secret, it most definitely happened and was amazing. It certainly wasn't Ruby talking Blakeney to death with nonsensical go-nowhere rambles about nothing coherent and not letting her get a word in edgewise.

After a video call with her internet studytube friends - a call which her friends take a hilariously long time to answer, as if they're screening and hoping Ruby gives up - that's it for another vlog.

In summary, a "typical weekend at university" for Ruby consists of:
  • Eating nothing but a gifted cereal bar.
  • Making bad birthday cards for her dad (and herself).
  • Watching only the beginning of children's animated Christmas movies.
  • Reading A Christmas Carol.
  • Scheduling Blakeney's day against her will.
  • Talking about Autumn and/or October.
  • Advertising Waterstones.
And since that's a typical weekend at university, I assume she'll be doing all the same things again in February?

I feel physically sick.

How dare she?

The Holocaust is something I carry with me every moment of my life as a Jew. In my daughter’s eyes I see the members of our family that died, and know that one day I will have to explain to her why the little girl in our black & white family photo (whom we named her after) was murdered at the age of seven in Auschwitz.

So to see a “YouTube influencer” using the Holocaust for clout and to practice her editing skills is too fucking much.

So some thoughts now I'm a quarter-ish of the way through the book. A lot of the negative reviews say it's written poorly. I don't think this is the case - the prose and structure seems ok to me, I think it's the fact that Erimentha just isn't a particularly likeable or relatable character, and Ruby needs to decide who her target audience will be; 9-12 age group seems like a better fit?

Do I want a sequal of Erimentha Parker goes to uni, gets a few piercings, a hangover and learns some humility? Hell yes!

I don't think Ruby moving back home did her any favours, I do think her parents indulge this 'childlike Ruby' a little too much. When she did a video on reflecting on her Oxbridge rejection, it was really insightful and mature, not a, "I'm SOOOO much better off without them!" defensive take like that Jade person.

Anyway...

Simone arrives with her dad and Erimentha meets them outside and starts examining his car.

"Is your family otherwise eco friendly?" I enquire, running my hand along the green car frame. "As in, do you use renewable energy sources to power your home?" Mr Randolph indulges her, rather than wondering why this peculiar little gnome is asking strange questions. Philippa Forrester of Robot Wars meets Greta Thunberg.

They talk about solar panels and her dad chuckles at his daughter in an, "Oh, aren't you adorable?" kind of way, rather than reprimanding her for asking another adult such personal questions about his home life.

Simone asks Erimentha if she can make the papier-mâché as she has an allergy to glue. Erimentha says they can use rubber gloves, she isn't doing all the grot work for this, and did her feeble-minded friend not think about gloves? She also points out to Simone that she's getting drips down her shirt. Erimentha begins to wonder whether it's possible that Simone's inhaling her IQ points in such close proximity. Simone goes on about her clumsiness and points out how 'together' Erimentha is.

Simone tells Erimentha that the water spilling incident was intentional and she should tell a teacher to nip it in the bud. Erimentha gaslights her, telling her it was an accident.

She knows Simone is not convinced, and says she, "can see the cogs turning underneath the marrow of her skull, beating against the blood flow and the electrical impulses of her cerebellum."

I'm convinced that Erimentha has decided that Simone is so intellectually sub-par, she's going to harvest her brain to experiment on

No way do I believe that is her afternoon routine (In regards to her newest video).

I'm from the U.K myself and yes, alot of people do have afternoon tea. Its usually in the form of a cup of tea or coffee with a couple of biscuits, with the occasional slice of cake or scone.

We don't stop everything we are doing, get the fine china out, put on our posh frocks and sit around the kitchen table pretending were the Queen of England.

"I never AVVER wore jeans until I got a magical Sisterhood of the Travelling Christmas Miracles pair and my heart grew three sizes and I liked them VARRY much and it changed my mind FOREAVVER okay goodbye."

Ruby, you know you can just say "I lied to make myself seem VARRY SPASHUL AND UNIQUE AND NOT LIKE OTHER GIRLS AND JUST LIKE THE VICTORIANS but was caught lying and now I have to be honest". That's a thing that you can just do. It's incredibly easy. Lying to cover up other lies might be your default, but it's not the only option. It's just embarrassing and pathetic.

Is this you wearing jeans, Ruby?

Because Ruby isn't going to let a little thing like more Instagram backlash over her refusing to stop posting toxic, triggering food content stand between her and her sponsor money, she's back for another biweekly whenever-the-fuck-she-can-be-bothered video.

This time, she's sponsored by Notion (the note-making platform she's shoehorned into every video possible) and after years of her giving them all the free advertising she possibly could, they finally threw her a sponsorship bone. Don't let anyone tell you that you can't achieve your dreams, if only you shout about them loud and long enough from a position of privilege.

And while people have been requesting for Ruby to stop posting triggering, ED-baiting content for a year and that hasn't happened, according to Ruby this video was "very highly requested" and is now here by popular demand. Presumably it was requested by Ruby’s multiple personalities, her imaginary friends and the ghost of Emily Dickinson, because if anyone's actually asked for Ruby to make this video, they sure don't exist on any plane of reality that I've been made aware of.

This video was allegedly being clamoured for by hordes of invisible fans for ages, but Ruby only bothered making it when someone finally paid her to do it, which should tell you everything about Ruby.

Screenshot_20211113-221101_YouTube.jpg

Ruby yet again forgets all her talk about the importance of sustainability and starts some fire hazards burning with her gas lighter.

After beaming about how amazing it is that she's finally being sponsored by Notion, she praises how many things you can do on Notion and how versatile it is. Can it paint my bedroom walls? Can it teach me the piano? Can you play Boggle using it? Let's find out!

"This is my Notion page and I think it looks pretty impressive!" Ruby protests, as she shows a page slapped together with the level of graphic design prowess you'd see in a broken MySpace page from 2009.

Screenshot_20211113-224258_YouTube.jpg

As well as looking as low-rent as possible, her Notion page has been filled with sections which are pointless at best and terrifying at worst. Sections like:

"Things to discuss with Blakeney" - presumably top of the list of conversations topics is the restraining order that Blakeney will hopefully have taken out against her.

"Ideal day at university" - Spoilers: An ideal day at university for Ruby will be spent at home, twirling in a field and daydreaming of cholera and quill pens while her mother is never more than 10 feet away.

"Dissertation: Letter Writing" - which still isn’t close to a specific or remotely relevant dissertation topic for an English Lit degree and signifies only doom and failure for her future.

Also "Masters Planning", because Ruby is living in a fantasy world where she makes it to a Masters course without mass rejection and having 46 mental breakdowns.

"Notion lets you create so many different...types?...of content?" Ruby says, unsure of her words, like they escaped her brain without thought or permission. What are these limitless mediums you can use Notion for? Clay? Crochet? Interpretive dance? Well, buckle the fuck up, people: You can put both text and pictures on a Notion page! The 21st Century is finally here!

Screenshot_20211113-225801_YouTube.jpg

Ruby whips out the obnoxious pointing finger to sternly remind everyone that you don’t need coding experience to use Notion. Because that's what's keeping people from using other note-taking options like Google Docs or, y'know, pen and paper: all the damn coding experience you need.

Ruby points out that it's free, too, unless you want the premium version, which is free if you're a student. If you're not a student? Let's immediately move on without mentioning that at all!

Screenshot_20211113-230759_YouTube.jpg

Ruby's going to break down how she takes "taxtual notes", "lack-chuh notes", "AXE-tra reading and contaxt notes" and "seminal notes". Of all the apparently abundant features that Ruby claims Notion has, evidently translation isn't one of them, as Ruby continues to pronounce all words like she's chewing a sponge while discovering English for the first time.

Ruby was also kind enough to also provide her very own Notion template, just in case you wanted to go ahead and ruin your life for yourself by imitating her disorganised bullshit.

Screenshot_20211113-232116_YouTube.jpg

Ruby only has two modules this year, but she's apparenltly going to show us how she creates six modules' worth of work from them with as much redundant busywork as possible.

She says that when reading a "taxt", she uses the Kindle app, because it's great for annotating the "taxt" and writing most of her notes because "it's really convenient". That's fucking great, Rubes, but does Notion integrate your Kindle books to upload your notes seamlessly? Because you were just talking about Notion being the Swiss army knife of note-making platforms, now there's already additional programs in the mix where you now say you make all your notes.

Also while Ruby's fawning over the Kindle app, Perlego and all the other reading/annotation apps that Ruby has claimed were her favourites in exchange for money are out there like:

friends-chandler-bing.gif

"And with the book read on Kindle it's trineee to move over to Notion," Ruby says, and despite listening to it several times and trying to figure out why she pronounced "time" with an "r" and and "n", I was instantly blindsided by Ruby moving on to the next subject with a "So! Here go..." and she's suddenly decided figuring out how to say words out loud is too much work and just skips them entirely.

Screenshot_20211113-233910_YouTube.jpg

Ruby shows that for each new book she pretends to read for her module, she adds sections about what was going on in the world at the time for added "contaxt". Not content with including things actually relevant to the book at hand, Ruby reveals that she's for some reason crammed half the history of England into each Notion page, with such pointless bullshit as ice skating accidents at Buckingham Palace and when Christmas crackers were invented. This is a true glimpse into utter madness.

Screenshot_20211113-234428_YouTube.jpg

Next she says she's added an "interests" section. For normal people, an "interests" section would be for things like reading, watching TV or kayaking. But Ruby's far from normal, so she's used the "interests" section to remind herself to research her fear of bad smells and how this feeds into "the great stink", which I assume is her nickname for her mouldy, dust-filled house of squalor.

Screenshot_20211113-235254_YouTube.jpg

Here's where Ruby realises that she can't go into too much detail about her Notion use without completely giving away that she doesn't actually read any of the books. She seemingly comes to this realisation in real time, and panic quickly washes over her.

She rambles about how she’s added a plot summary, but doesn’t show it (because it'd reveal that she ripped it from Sparknotes or Wikipedia verbatim) and feels the need to stress that she doesn't always so this for Dickens, implying that she knows them well enough to not need it, but that she only does it after reading the book.

Now, we know this is a complete lie. Not only has she shared countless to-do lists in which she's ticked off "summary" or "critical reading" long before she's ticked off reading the book, but she's tipped her hand and said she copies summaries from Sparknotes to Notion before (at around 4:10):

In the time since, she's clearly realised that saying you've been copying summaries from Sparknotes and reading critical material before touching the book makes it look an awful lot like you're avoiding reading the book and taking lots of shortcuts, which wouldn't go over well with tutors or anyone else, for that matter.

Screenshot_20211114-013905_YouTube.jpg

She then moves on to the character lists she creates, but encounters the same problem. After struggling to remember two character names for the book she absolutely, definitely read, she waves her hand at the camera with a 'nothing to see here' energy, clicks away from this section as fast as she can and says she won't go into detail of course as it's "just an example". Because, again, going into detail would shine a light on how she’s just compiling copied information into Notion to avoid reading the books.

Screenshot_20211114-003653_YouTube.jpg

Next she moves onto the "Overview of my Thinking" section, which sure looks like random copied tidbits from critical sources with her own meaningless drivel sprinkled in.

We get the following paragraph: "we see a progression of time (Christmas, Easter, cold, warm, etc.) which reflects periodical culture. It gives the book as a collection momentum though, as if there can be plot and progress. Especially in the couples at the end who do progress and get older while we read the others." This nonsensical combination of words seems designed purely to simulate the experience of having a brain seizure.

For added intense stupidity, Ruby felt the need to write down the sentence, "we remember elements that have been spoken about before - would only have been like this for first readers if they followed everything." This means absolutely nothing and could be applied to pretty much any novel or story that you've read to completion (which is admittedly a novelty for Ruby). It's immediately clear that Ruby hasn't read this book, if there were any doubt.

Screenshot_20211114-014143_YouTube.jpg

Ruby then mentions that she has a section for "ahclacktuk-aughts", or "eclectic thoughts" in English. She does not clarify how this section differs from the "Overview of my Thinking" section, and they seem to be the same combination of nonsense and borrowed thoughts.

Screenshot_20211114-014704_YouTube.jpg

After showing how she grabs historical context and publication history from a basic Google search, she rambles about 'toggles' for far too long. Basically, you can click on an arrow next to a section to expand or hide that section. It's handy, but not a particularly unique function, but Ruby acts like it's a miracle cure for stupidity; Ruby is proof that it's definitely not that.

Ruby must've gotten tired at this point as she started recycling footage again, this time from one of her recent vlogs. She's droning on about her lectures being online and shows reused vlog footage of a lecture in which she blurred out her lecturer's face.

Screenshot_20211114-015628_YouTube.jpg

It's something she clearly couldn’t be bothered doing again, as she mixes in newer lecture footage, but without any blurring this time.

Screenshot_20211114-015609_YouTube.jpg

Inconsistency and shoddy editing? Just par for the course with Ruby.

She mentions that she stripmines everything offered in her lectures for notes, from things her lecturer said to images powerpoint slides - all of it gets copies and pasted into Notion to cobble together into questions (also written in Notion) to grill her tutors with later for essay material.

So far it's all a baffling, redundant waste of time. Most of these Notion sections are duplicates of each other or contain nothing of value, so it's not surprising that Ruby immediately forgets which sections is which and what the hell she's supposed to be talking about:

Screenshot_20211114-022230_YouTube.jpg

She finally remembers that she intended to talk about "personal research", which apparently is the section for her "lack-cha" notes and group study details. Only to someone as devoid of well-rounded interests or a social life as Ruby could clinical critical research be labelled "personal".

Ruby continues to tout the benefits of Notion by immediately mentioning that she needs to link to Google Drive docs in her study group page. "Unfortunately," Ruby sighs, "not everyone uses Notion..." Apparently the cultureless peons in her study group aren't enlightened enough to use Notion, and they slum it in the Google Drive sewers.

Ruby says she much prefers Notion to Google Docs/Drive, but never actually says why. She does, however, mention that another thing she likes about Notion is how Google Drive links can be pasted and accessed with a click. Which sounds like a benefit of Google Drive that they make shared linking easy, rather than Notion.

Screenshot_20211114-024429_YouTube.jpg

Ruby acts as if pasting a clickable hyperlink is a revelatory step in technology when almost any program that allows text pasting will do the same. It's like exclusively heaping praise on Bentley brand cars because the front window allows you to see traffic lights so you know when to stop.

While the study group schlubs don't use Notion, Ruby has made sure thay Blakeney does. Naturally, Rubes has also linked their accounts so that all Blakeney's study notes are available for her to read and pilfer ideas from, and vice versa.

On Notion, multiple people can share and edit the same document simultaneously, "just like Google Docs". Again, this seems like more of an endorsement for Google Docs, and no further insight into what makes Notion unique.

According to Ruby, she and Blakeney divide critical material and each read half, make notes and then share the notes, getting "double the amount of content for half the work". Given the absolute drivel Ruby writes in her notes and the fact that she doesn't ready Blakeney has nothing to gain from this arrangement and is clearly being used as a source of essay material.

This is a staggeringly stupid approach to learning and both of them are complete morons for doing it, but Blakeney especially so, since she's the only one likely contributing ideas of value. Ruby shows her notes on the critical "ass-ay" she read, and it's condensed down to such short bulletpoints that any critical merit or understanding of the essay is lost. Blakeney would need to read the essay herself anyway to make sense of the compacted horseshit cubes that Ruby's turned it into, so I fail to see the benefit.

Screenshot_20211114-032602_YouTube.jpg

Ruby: "I like doing critical reading because it gives you a better understanding of ideas in the academy and helps you to, like, actually see where the scholarship is?" This is word soup. Pure gibberish. What the ever-loving fuck is she babbling about?

Ruby’s clearly just spouting drivel because she doesn't have the proper context for critical reading. Critical reading is supposed to be to give a deeper, wider understanding or different viewpoints and analysis of the text in question. But Ruby doesn't approach it like that. Ruby doesn't read books first and think critically for herself, then find critical material to support or contrast her argument. She reads the supporting critical material first, mines it for ideas and then skips the book entirely to write an essay with other people's ideas. So it's no shock that her definition of critical reading is this nonsense.

Screenshot_20211114-033634_YouTube.jpg

In the most telling part of the video, Ruby says she loves having a study partner to bounce of because "it's a great way of understanding the material better and understanding your own thoughts on the material".

This is most likely because Ruby has no thoughts on the material and just uses other people's ideas to form her entire essays, whether it's study partners, essay authors or tutors. So it helps to have the person explain their thoughts, so that Ruby can lie and go "I was just thinking the exact same thing!" or "Well, of course, I read the book, but why don't you tell me what happened in it so that I can be sure you read the book - and speak slowly so that I can make notes..." then furiously scribble those stolen ideas into Notion before she forgets what the other person said.

After that she blathers on about seminar notes, but it's more of the same - Ruby copies anything and everything into Notion, to the point where it's swamped with irrelevant crap from years ago up to present, like she's going to need to refer back to the comprehensive notes she was probably taking at her 10th birthday party some day.

Screenshot_20211114-034932_YouTube.jpg

She also has yet another weekly planner in Notion, because 17 planners per week just wasn't enough.

So, in this video about Notion sponsored by Notion in which she heaps glowing praise upon Notion, she never once explains why she loves it.

To summarise what she does say about Notion:

-It has toggles.
-It's free, unless it's not, in which case it costs £???
-You can put text and pictures in it.
-You can share and edit documents, just like Google Docs.

And that's it. She doesn't elucidate what makes Notion preferable to Google Docs or similar services, what unique features it has, what the downsides are, if you can export and back up all your digital information, and so on. She only says that she loves it and highly recommends it. In all things, Ruby has zero critical ability, especially when someone's handing her money to discuss things.

She also never once mentions just how much of this Notion nonsense she repeats across other systems, planners, notebooks and so on.

Here she acts like Notion is the one-stop shops for all planning, note-taking and organisation, yet she’s also hocking planners and notebooks that serve the same person. Not only is it an insane amount of busywork and redundant time-wasting for her, it's just incredibly disingenuous to keep acting like all these things she shills are the only thing that exists until it's time to advertise the competitng product.

Another video, another brain-mashingly stupid display of prolonged idiocy by Ruby.

I made a thread too woops! I'll copy the summary I made here :)

Noteable Events
Ruby accepted a paid #AD for Holocaust Memorial Day, received a lot of backlash and rushed to find an excuse. Initially decided the money was going to be 'reinvested' into a Holocaust charity and an anti bullying charity. A day later, put on her instagram story the money would actually go towards creating a few memorials in underfunded state schools. Had a day off social media and is now continuing to post as normal, feels she has addressed the issue enough

I just wanted to thank you so much for this. As someone who
almost unalived myself during the holidays
I wan't in too great a mood to watch endless video footage of her frolicking, opening tea and prAsents in that childish, callous way of hers. But this thing you wrote...it made me laugh for the first time in days, and I just wanted to tell you that this is just a gossip forum, but for someone who reads here it might mean a tiny bit more than that. Sorry for taking up space and time.
I can't even pretend to imagine what you've been going through to reach that point, but I'm so sorry you've had to deal with it.

I'm so glad you're still here.

Don't forget that you're never alone, even if it might feel like it sometimes. There's always people around to talk to if you need to reach out, and that's something you never have to apologise for.

And for whatever small measure of comfort, entertainment and distraction it brings, as long as Ruby's posting stupid shit online (which, let's face it, will be forever), I for one will always be here to make fun of it and watch Ruby's godawful content so you don't have to.

Must be a young thing cause our parents wanted us out as soon as they could...even when we were teenagers with part time jobs at school they took a percentage for rent and food and bills.
No offense to your parents but I think it's crazy to charge your child for food and shelter before they turn 18?? Like how are you gonna choose to create a human and then charge them money for existing lmao

I wonder if Ruby missed the memo......Nigel Slater's autobiography talks about hunger and malnourished. He frequently had toast because his sick mum struggled to cook, and the toast was often burned (although he still loved it). Sick of her taking things out of context.

And once again Rubix Cube has not done her research on the brand she is partnering with....

Whilst the cause she is talking about is important - she is partnering with PETA, the org that had a campaign saying that dairy caused autism and has had countless other problematic campaigns.

Surprisingly, nearly the entire comment section is pointing this out. Made me smile and I scrolled through hundreds of people asking Rhubarb why she would even partner with them.

Alas this isn’t enough to stop Roobeeee taking money from a corrupt org!
Ruby would partner with the fucking Taliban if they offered enough money
