So depressing and frustrating reading about the lengths people are going to to not get ill. My son's grandparents (on dads side) have basically missed his entire baby/toddler stage and dont leave the house for anything non essential. All meet ups have been done outside and they haven't held him or cuddled him! .. so scared of dying that they are forgetting to live.

I read threads like this and it seems like people are saying they’re sick of this they’re not having boosters or wearing masks but I’ve been to my local large shopping centre today and almost everyone was in masks I was challenged on entry, in the 2 shops I went in before I left the hostility towards me was awful. A woman on the till actually tutted at me when I paid her with £5 in pound coins.
I feel sick and despairing tonight, I feel like my little boy is never going to have a free and normal childhood.
I went to the same shopping centre last week, 10% in masks, a nice atmosphere and then today it’s like this. I just don’t understand it at all. Feel like I don’t want to leave the house again now, I don’t want to be challenged and have to tell people I’m exempt and relive the reason why just for getting a bloody food shop I feel sick with anxiety hence why I’m writing this at 5am!

If you still need a booster after being FULLY vaccinated, and still need to get tested after being FULLY vaccinated, and can still get hospitalised after being FULLY vaccinated then it's time to realise we have all been FULLY conned. There have been far more deaths from previous pandemics and the death rate is still very low. They want us to live in fear as it's easy to control us, and I'm frightened at the way the general population is just being compliant like sheep. Thank God members of this forum can still think for themselves and have got the guts to speak out.

I hate to sound all conspiracy on this … but is it any coincidence that all we are hearing about now is this AWFUL new variant that so far has only had mild symptoms, and then a similar call to get boosters?? Certainly seems like it’s playing into someone’s hands.

Never posted on this thread.
I’m not having any booster.
I’m not wearing a mask anymore.
I’m not cancelling social plans.
My daughter is 9 at Christmas. She’s lost almost 2 years to this utter nonsense.
I’ve abided by every rule to date but this is now something else.

My face mask exemption cards have arrived this morning so I can go to the shops without the worry of being hassled. Phew!

I've not posted on this thread before but the booster stuff crosses the line for me. I'm in my 20s, why the f*ck do I need a booster jab? How many more am I expected to get? And how much am I just expected to put into my body when I'm still young and we don't know the long term effects?

I had the two jabs in the summer just to be covered with the impression that we were going back to normal and that the booster was just a 'top up' to protect vulnerable age groups like my grandparents. So why should I take it?

Sorry but I don’t believe you.
This is surely bullshit? I have a friend who works in the NHS and literally a week ago I spoke to her and she said they have empty beds they can’t fill because of covid. As in they are on covid wards but they don’t have the patients so they are empty. I’m done with the NHS fearmongering, if they can’t cope with winter pressures it’s funding and fucking appalling middle management, it is NOT people enjoying their basic human rights after being scared into jab upon jab and mask upon mask and missing out monumental life events.

This is the turning point. I, like many others in this thread have followed the rules. I’m high risk so have had both jabs and a booster, but with the news coming out that boosters may be every three months. I’m very, very reluctant to have any more. This is getting ridiculous.

And the briefing today, Omicron was referred to as a “public health crisis”. Pardon? We know next to nothing about this variant. This is scaremongering straight from the top.

I don’t disagree with masks coming back in public places. I’d rather them take the precaution in case the variant does turn out to be something serious. But at the same time, there sources are mixed on whether masks are actually effective, and I certainly get why people make the choice to not wear one…

Health care workers angry at the unvaccinated because they have to work…

let me introduce you to my little, sorry extremely overweight friend who spouts bullshit about who’s the “problem” while stuffing their face and gaining an extra 3 stone over lockdown.

The term “NHS workers” is really starting to irritate, not all of them, just the ones who think they all deserve medals for “what they’ve done” over the pandemic,
Work, like millions of others,
Personally feel sorry for care home staff over NHS staff.

So to round up

Get jabbed, wear masks, get jabbed, don't wear masks everywhere, wear masks when meeting new people, get jabbed, don't meet many new people, it's worrying, it's not worrying, get jabbed, we think we'll be ok with Omicron, we don't know enough about Omicron, get jabbed, jabs might not work against it, jabs might, jabs will, we don't want to cancel things, we have to wait, get jabbed, Xmas will be better, we don't know what's going to happen yet, get jabbed

Making vaccines mandatory is just ludicrous. I'm vaccinated but that's my choice. Whatever happened to freedom?

6 year old won’t touch or hug anyone today because they have a cold.

Also watched a segment which encouraged younger kids and their parents to make masks for their dolls, and use pip cleaners to perform pretend covid tests.

our kids are fucked,

Boris doing a briefing later and people are being told to avoid unnecessary socialising. How do you determine what is necessary and what is unnecessary socialising? I bet Boris won't be stopping all the boozing and shagging around.
Unnecessary socialising is when you don't want to go

Nope nope nope they can fuck right off with this shit. I’ve been compliant for long enough. Not anymore. Can’t be that bad if they were having secret Christmas parties last year even before these new, milder variants existed.

People need to start realising that It’s not our responsibility to “save the nhs”, that’s the government’s job and they are failing miserably. It’s totally unfair that they are putting that burden on the general public, turning people against each other in the process. Was just watching the news and it said that at the end of October there were 6million people waiting for treatment on the nhs. That’s absolutely shocking and should never have been allowed to happen. I don’t believe for a second that hospitals are still ‘over run’ with covid. That account posted up thread seems suspicious to me. I’m getting to a point where I feel we should sack off testing altogether and live our lives as normal. Maybe that’s reckless of me, I used to roll my eyes at the “covid is no worse than the flu” crowd but I’m leaning more and more towards that point of view every day. It’s not some deadly virus like it was made out to be in the beginning. We have vaccines now, we should be allowed to live our lives as we did pre pandemic at this point. Masks, working from home, social distancing, isolation, bloody vaccine passports - it’s all pointless yet it feels never ending.
