I just don't think it's as contagious as the media and government keep saying.
My husband had it but me and our son didn't get it. How my son didn't catch it I'd beyond as two of his close friends had it which was we all decided to do lateral flow tests. If my husband hadn't done that test we'd never have known as no symptoms. If it was so contagious we'd all have had it as we carried on as normal at home.

I think it is all down to ventilation really. Cars might be more ventilated than houses so the COVID partciles are getting flushed out constantly by the air con or whatever. But when you are sat in a house or small room and the air isn't flowing through then there's a higher chance the virus is gonan get in you.
They don't have the air con on or the windows open though.

My mum is a school escort that takes children to and from school in a taxi and she's been sat with the driver no masks worn between them and not caught covid when he had it and he was coughing and all sorts for days, and then when some of the kids caught it that she also sits next to she still hasn't caught it. Yet she catches my cold after I visit her house for half an hour. I'm starting to wonder if it's contagious as these scientists claim. Even my daughter at school all her friends she has been around caught covid yet all she's had is the sniffles. She said she must be built differently lol.

I feel bad for anyone who has caught it and has been really poorly. I just don't think it's as contagious as the media and government keep saying.
My 11-year son had it (as has most of his year and school now I think!). As his mum, I obviously didn't socially distance from him and carried on kissing, cuddling and caring for him. He wasn't ill at all despite having to be off school for two weeks.

I'm unvaccinated, have an autoimmune disease, catch everything going and did not get COVID.

I was really worried my mum would catch it when she was at work, she's overweight and suffers from numerous health issues but even after sitting next to the driver both mask less and windows up with him coughing his guts up for a few days before he took a test she didn't catch it. I think that's when I started to think that something isn't fully adding up here, yet we are told you catch it going to the supermarket so wear a mask. I decided after that I'm just gonna live my life how I want to instead of letting the government tell me what I can and can't do.

I'm CEV. Double jabbed and caught covid in July. Didn't social distance from rest of household and nobody else caught it. Slept in the same bed as my husband the entire 10 days. I wasn't too bad just like having a really bad cold. Daughter tested positive 3 weeks ago and again my husband and son didn't catch it.

Still reckon they'll be more air flow through a car and all of its fan vents travelling at speed than a room in someone's house but idk

What about in traffic, at lights, getting in and out etc. I would have thought more chance of getting it in a car than a room. :/

Dunno I always keep my fans on in my car so probably not a good example

Getting in and out would hopefully refresh the air in the space though.

I think just the case of sitting right next to people who are coughing a supposedly highly infectious disease is enough to catch it, despite blowers and windows.
It's that infectious that we had to keep 2 metres from the unsymptomatic whilst outside, so within 1 metre in an enclosed space must be lethal!
You can at least distance in a standard room, even with no windows open

Didn't they say a while ago that only some people are contagious. My dad had it really early on and non of us caught it even sharing drinks and food.

But this time my whole house has it, my husband doesn't really go out so he must have got it from me or the kids, we probably picked it up from a play group.

I didn't actually test until I had been ill for a week. Mainly because everyone has a cough at the moment and they all say "don't worry it's not covid", do I just assumed it was a cold.

I'm in my 3rd trimester of pregnancy and have caught Covid. I'm still suffering from symptoms now, coughing, aches, chills, blocked nose and loss of taste and smell. I tested positive last Thursday, I felt a bit weak on Tuesday but no other symptoms so was at the gym. I felt better on Fri & Sat, but worse again yesterday and today. I would say for me, it's worse than a cold, but not as bad as flu. I'm still up and about, working from home just napping as I need. I never get ill and look after myself so it has wiped me.

Having said this, at no point during this have I wished I was vaccinated, I still stand by my decision and am grateful now I will have natural immunity.
My Husband is also unvaxxed and has had no symptoms.

The annoying thing as well they're being a bit shady on saying if the variant is even more lethal or not. They just keep alluding to 'a few weeks' 'we'll have to wait and see' 'the data is not there yet'. All the while showing coverage around the world of how it's spreading and how countries are going into panic. I've got a feeling Downing Street already know what they're going to do

Feel better.

It seems pretty obvious from the data available it's mild. A great way for real immunity considering the vaccine doesn't seem to help much with that.

They want an excuse for lockdown. So they will do it. This timing was perfect for them. If not this one they'd pull something else out of their arses.

Theresa May makes a good point - you can't just shut things down every winter you numbskulls. I wonder if she were PM would she have kowtowed to SAGE like this? Here in the US Trump was a complete moron who bent over for Fauci (later we find out with DARPA and EcoHealth Alliance he was behind a lot of the sneaky moving of funds to Wuhan, against Obama's wishes), Birx, and Redfield (former CDC Dir under Trump who claims masks are more effective than vaccines lol). All bureaucrats making decisions on public health policy in the USA.
