Isn’t this new variant meant to be mild in terms of symptoms? Why do we need extra restrictions for something that only has mild symptoms? This is doing my head in now.

I had a mask on in the shops yesterday but it was so hot in there I started to feel sick and faint. A few others in the queue were also struggling, hopefully shops lower their heating whilst we are mask wearing
I'm sorry but as someone who works in retail - I'm not going to freeze all day so someone who is *choosing* to come in for a few minutes doesn't moan. This is always a nightmare in winter, people coming in and whining at you because it's too hot. I get it, it's irritating when you go from outside to in with layers on, but staff are there for 8+ hours, do you really want them to suffer all day for your few minutes of discomfort? I hate masks but it does infuriate me what big babies people are about wearing them for a few minutes. Try a full shift in a 45 degree shop over summer, with a shop fully packed and trying to do 6 people's job at the same time, then come back to me about your few minutes of feeling stuffy.

Of course they did.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.
I've already said I'm having my Christmas come hell or high water and I'd suggest everyone does the same. Government advisors "testing their eyesight," affairs with colleagues and parties whilst the rest of us suffered. No, life has to go on.

I'm not having anymore jabs. I was so unwell after mine and developed blood clots and had a mini stroke. Doctors say it could've happened regardless of me having the vaccine but not a risk I'm willing to take.

Thank you all for watching and reporting as I sure as hell couldn't.
It's turning my stomach that healthy people en masse are being strong armed/threatened into endlessly injecting themselves without question,on the off chance of a tiny risk oF covid complications.
Meanwhile it's that dangerous out there that our elderly wannabe King has just completed a tour of the middle East and is now in Barbados.
But we can't have a Xmas party.

And this is why I pay less and less attention to headlines surrounding covid. Nothing but doom and gloom, the media thrives on it. I’ve got enough of that in my life due to mental health issues as I’m sure many others have too.

Absolutely shameful.

Children in third class and above have to wear masks in school from today onwards.

New Department of Education guidelines state a medical cert is required for an exemption, and those without evidence will be refused entry.

The Government is also calling for less indoor socialising among under-12s for the next two weeks, after a sharp increase in Covid cases.

I work in neuro theatre and have done for the last 5 years and trust me when I say as an NHS worker do not get the vaccine!. Just wait, I work alongside the countrys leading neuro doctors and have been told by extremely intelligent knowledgeable people to avoid it as much as possible and to advise family the same. The virus is only going to keep spreading regardless of vaccines there are far to many variants to vaccine against everyone without being a walking labrat anyway! Probably will get a lot of hate for this but if everyone in healthcare actually spoke the truth and defended our rights we would not be so naive to vaccinate our children.
I realise that this is an anonymous forum though I shall take what you've said at face value. So, thankyou for being brave enough to post this. From what I gather, on other posting sites, there are groups of health professionals starting to band together- under the radar, so to speak.

I've had an uneasy feeling about all of this from the very beginning and, the more things have been ramped up, the more suspicious I have become.

I have MS and it was a red flag to me that most of the symptoms of adverse reactions and long covid mirror my own. Also, the second largest number of reports on the yellow card system are neurological in nature.

I've told my GP my reasons for not being vaccinated. She may think that I am waiting on more data as opposed to declining but, nonetheless, she has not pushed me at all and has been supportive in fact!

I was also immensely surprised when I had an appointment with a very senior neurologist a couple of weeks ago. It was our first meeting (I have been under his care although seen by his colleagues). The first thing I said was how nice it was to meet him and I wished I could shake his hand. His reply... 'Of course we can shake hands. Take a seat, get comfortable and you can take your mask off too.' No mention of covid or my vaccine status either.
A couple of MS nurse practitioners in training were present so, there we were, 4 people in a tiny room, windows closed and no masks.

If it really is as scary as we are being led to believe, would a gentleman as senior and respected as him be taking that risk?
I left feeling rather kerfuffled, to be honest.

I'd also like to say that I'm just relaying my experience and apologise if this post is in the wrong thread (mods, please move if you wish).

I wish no offence to any of you who have loved ones who have been affected. Respect to all, whatever our views may be x

I think WFH is totally subjective. Personally I love it! But it has been mandated in my company for the entire pandemic now. I just don't think the executives in their amazing houses complete with home office and garden have thought about the junior members of staff, many of whom live in house shares and work from their tiny bedrooms with dodgy internet or housemates they might not get on with. It's not going to suit everyone, for many it will be incredibly isolating and it is bad for your mental health to work in one room which you also live and sleep in! I was worried about some of my team members and brought this up to senior staff members who call in from their airy offices... and they could not care less. Covid has become an excuse for people to get away with a complete lack of duty of care imo 🙁

I'm CEV and came out of isolation last Thursday. I felt a lot better and had recovered from my bout of Covid, but I've gone back downhill. Now on steroids, prescribed over the phone.
GP won't see me in person until 90 days after my positive test, also won't refer for a chest X Ray as an outpatient until 90 days clear.
I'm holding my own with 02 still at 94, just shortness of breath, lung pain and dry cough.
They diagnosed (over the phone) post covid lung inflammation which is common in CEV patients.
I queried a potential pulmonary embolism which he said, isn't how I'm presenting but then in the next breath (ha, pun) that because I'm young (40s, is that young?!) I could be compensating too well on sats and might not get the classic sats drop even if I did have one.
So can I have a chest x Ray? No, in case my residual viral load infects anyone.
Hang on, if I went to A&E they'd treat me, right? So why is the GP surgery any different? Why is the outpatient X Ray different to inpatient?
How come paramedics are allowed to come and get my residual particles but GPs aren't?
And how come I was allowed back to work after 10 days if I'm human kryponite?
Me and my bucket of steroids are confused as to how any of that makes sense.

I too feel sick.
SO many questions.
Where are all these millions of "boosters" being manufactured?

I presume they have a shelf life?
How can we see a doctor to get jabbed but not for anything else?
What about the damage being done to mental health of nations in comparison to the virus deaths ( within 28 days of a positive test).
Why are we trusting governments and pharmaceutical companies when history and past actions tell us we shouldn't.
Why do I feel scared for people?

I just watched a video of the Princess Royal hosting a Christmas Party at St James's Palace. They made the waiters/staff wear a mask but of course not a single guest had to. One rule for them, one for the serfs. Really clever that the virus knows to limit itself to the staff and not anyone else.

I honestly think even the language they use is telling. “Get jabbed” you don’t speak of medical intervention for serious illnesses and threats in this manor. It’s more like fucking wartime propaganda.

It's immaterial to me what they say about cancelling Christmas - unless Nicola/Boris put the army across the border we will be going to Scotland to spend Christmas with the family. They can fuck right off if they try and pull that nonsense again this year.

I remember someone on here proclaiming that because they worked with children (in a school setting I believe) that they knew kids would be fine because from their experience they couldn't see any damage being done.
I remember arguing at the time that just because no damage was being done at the start of all this, that didn't mean damage wouldn't be done.
I explained that I had previously worked with kids who had been treated awfully, had a trauma, or bad experience when they were little, and that it wasn't until they were older that the repercussions became apparent, and that the same would happen with this.

Well here we are.
It was obvious that it was going to happen. I might not be a qualified teacher, and do come from an 'unskilled' background, but I've worked and lived long enough to know I was right. I bloody wish I wasn't though! 😔
honestly, I dread to think what they’re being told in school without parents knowledge at this point, this isn’t restricted to vulnerable kids at all, this lot aren’t vulnerable in the slightest but there is a real fear being installed in them all.

I just want to say that this is day 14 of my Covid infection, and I still feel shitty. AND I've been double-vaccinated. I dread to think how sick I would have been had I not been vaccinated.
Hope you’re out the other side now!
Be nice, ok?
I’m sorry but I had to 😂😂😂

Absolutely livid.
I like many others didn't see my family last Christmas because Boris told us it was too dangerous. I actually fell out with my sister as she couldn't understand why I was sticking to the rules and wouldn't go down and see her.
It's just an insult to all those that did what they were told.
