It is hard to be on time for anything or really even care about time when you don't have a real job and haven't really had one in a lonnnnng time... especially one that actually requires a specific time to start. These two have nothing tied to time going on in their lives except getting on a ship (usually late boarding time) or a plane.
It's hard for regular people to understand how they can always be late, because regular people have endless tasks and events happening tied to time. Work arrival, work meetings, project deadlines, deadlines for paperwork, school times, kids' school activity times, sports with practice times or game times, regular appointments related to kids or pets or self, errands out in public that require you to be punctual. These two have zero consequences for just not giving a tit about time. It's why some of us preemptively feel for J - if he ever wants to attend school out of the home, play in the band, play soccer, meet friends for play dates, etc., etc., good luck because his parents appear to have no concept of time and don't seem to care how much they inconvenience others with their tardiness. Seems very narcissistic.
