Hello folks in relation to a post written by Wendy Grimwood, & now removed by her, it was me who approved Wendy's post, it was also me who created the rules. I am very aware that we do not permit any Petherick related content in the group, that was a rule based on my personal experience, water well passed under the bridge & a matter that does not require further debate. That said I like to think I am a fair person, & I do believe Billy Petherick is an excellent video producer & he has & does execute some lovely restoration work. Hence why I approved Wendy's post. Not without thought I might add, the approval did take a few days. I certainly did not approve it for someone to crucify his character, Amy Sky. Every vlogger has a different style, some we like others we don't. That does not mean they are not good at what they do, it means we do not like their style. Indeed Dan leaves the camera rolling too....also some people are more comfortable in front of a camera than others, & Billy has achieved a lot in his projects as has Dan. Whilst I believe it is very important to have constructive criticism, as I have said before, it gives the content creators an insight into what type of material their audience prefers. However, this group is not the platform to refer to anyone as clowns, Susanne Petersen, unless they are performers in the circus! Stephanie & Philip are not clowns, if you do not enjoy what the channel is creating disconnect. Amanda Maxwell Lightfoot I note you actually clicked on the heart emoji, so you are clearly thrilled by what Susanne wrote. Amanda, Stephanie's vlog, is a diary of her life, her life as she chooses to lead it, not as others think or would like to dictate she did. Indeed she will do things differently than some, but it is her choice, not yours or mine. I certainly would approach some projects from a different angle, as I am very sure if she was in control of my life she would make different decisions. There is the point, we are not in control of her life, nor should we be. This group is very well supported by Stephanie & her family, how hurtfull do you think it is for them to read such comments in a group that is supposed to be for her supporters?....with friends like that she won't need many enemies! There is NO place in this group for hateful comments, comments which the author knows will cause upset not only to their topic but to other members, the same as there is NO place here for other members who give support to such comments by liking them. Whilst I appreciate members informing me there may be a post or comment in the group that is causing concern, I do not take lightly when members start to chastise other members & start a lot of dialogue. This only fuels the fire & causes more damage than the post/comment itself. We do not require anyone to be a vigilante in this group. Wendy was bullied by your comments into removing her post, that is wrong. Also keep in mind as I have said before, there will be negative comments about Stephanie, that is fine, as long as it is in relation to vlog content, style of vlogs etc...& not of a personal or hateful nature. We cannot devour anyone who makes a negative comment..they don't like a vase..they don't like curtains etc...that is silly, members are entitled to their opinions, we must respect that. There will be members who will have their membership revoked this evening, if after reading this post they haven't left freely.
I hope this clarifies Admin's position on these matters.

You asked how I was doing , really kind of you.
Actually I am really struggling and can see that I need to make a break as nothing I am doing is helping and it certainly is damaging my own mental health .
Fortunately we have an annexe and I have temporarily decamped there but it is not susustainable.
It seems unimaginable at this stage of my life to contemplate such a decision.
It is a huge thing and at times feels unsurmountable.
Watching the crazy woman and her very strange relationship at the chateau certainly is a big distraction!

I get the impression that Grant is none too happy about having his meals in Cinderella's kitchen rather than sitting with the guests as he did when he was there with his wife. He will also be the odd job man doing all the heavy carrying which Snorty can't manage. I guess he won't enjoy his visit as much as he did in the past. Good for Amaury and Natti avoiding supper time, probably because they are fed up with acting as waiters and serving little lover boy. At least, he now has to pour the wine himself, which he won't like; he wants to play the lord of the manor at the head of the table, pretentious little prick!What the hell !!!!?????
He went all that way to France to help a lazy old cow to declutter her ruin of a farmhouse !
I bet he never put the bins out for his wife and helped around His Home!!!

I just watched the Fleuries latest vlog. Remember, while Anna and Philipp DO have a Patreon account (where people pay to see extra vlogs), they earn an income from YouTube, AdSense (they are shilling something every week), Anna's online lino print courses, and might have come out even on the candles.
While they did treat themselves to one night at a hotel that Anna had been admiring on IG (while they lavished a lot of praise on the hotel, did say they paid full price), and stayed at a less expensive hotel the following day. Since they lugged their gear (in backpacks) to the boat for the sea trial, I'm going to guess the plan was to spend the night aboard if it was a success, or find a nearby hotel if it wasn't.
The boat itself is an older Arcona 385 (39')- I'm guessing 2004. A brand new one is €425,000, and the ballpark figure for a used 2003 one is around €160,000. They are good quality boats, but with an older boat, there are going to be niggling issues that will become apparent during the "shakedown cruise" when Philipp gets a crew to help him sail it back to France. He did state that the boat needed to be hauled out again for the previous owner to sort a few issues (like replacing the head seacock, which was seized.) If one needs to be replaced, more than likely, all of them do.
The upfront and immediate things that I could see are that the lines (ropes) need to be replaced, along with some of the blocks (pulleys), and the dodger (the canvas that covers the cockpit with the clear vinyl "window") has seen better days. I would have liked to see the engine, as they had an issue starting it, to see what shape it was in and if it was original. It was also odd the sails were missing- I would have wanted to inspect them and test out the roller furling for the jib (another expensive item that breaks.) If the dodger needs replacing, the mainsail cover probably does as well.
While the boat itself looked very clean, it was dated with the original curtains and blue cushion covers- minor. The electronics were pretty dated as well- that is an older Raymarine chartplotter, and not sure if the box the wheel went into is the auto pilot.
Overall, it appeared to be a well-built and maintained older boat, but they've got their work cut out for them. I know full well the excitement of buying a boat, so felt that for them, but once they get it back home, the reality will set in- it's not all sunsets and cocktails. They will need to replace and update a lot of things.
One of you mentioned that they were not wearing life vests. If we are sailing in the bay, we don't wear them, but keep them accessible in the nearby lazarette, and let our guests know where they are when they board. Same as on the powerboat. However, if we are in a storm or sailing off shore, we wear them, but have the auto-inflate ones, as they easier to maneuver in.

She is not the first guest/volunteer to have a hard time. I am not a fan of Selmar, but it was very kind of him and Tatty to make her a flower arrangement. Someone will eventually spill the tea.

Thank you for featuring a female artist (Jenny De Vasson) in your vlog today...not sure you remember me from my visit to Lalande, but I collect and support the work of female artists. Just had 6 female artists at my home tonight for my figgy pudding party and all agreed that women artists are still only acknowledged and recognized at a ratio of about 1 to 10 compared to male artists. We must help to elevate them to their deserved status. Thanks, Stephanie. I loved visiting La Chartre and loved tagging along with your excursion today. Happy Solstice.

Also, have something on hand to settle your quessy tummy when Fanny talks about her purpose in life & their first kiss.

This vlog first reminds me of my own antique 20K sq ft home in California, and the thousands of square feet of attic space with a vaulted ceiling and loft with thousands more, off our Library. It is so nice to see others, like us, who choose to live in these enormous historic homes, and are passionate and empathetic in our conservation restorations. The ruin veranda of the other Chateau reminds me of my almost lost flying double veranda that was peeling off the house and risking collapse, which is today one of the most incredibly beautiful places to stand and look in awe of the mansion, pristinely preserved and almost perfect. The exploration, lite food, and perfect company on your outing made it so enjoyable!

Thanks for the warm welcome, OhIDon'tKnow. I definitely got to pull the curtain back and see the real chateau Oz. Stephanie did a bizarre post titled Living the Downton Abby Life (or something like that), glamourizing the whole servant and master thing. It was prescient. I was there for over a week and a few "volunteers" worked tirelessly for no pay (while one just lingered around the fringes doing nothing). The washing machine broke down and someone had to take all the laundry into town while a skeleton staff of 3 had to clean and prepare every room for an upcoming full house weekend (12 guests); they also did all the shopping, cooked all the meals, served them, and cleaned up afterward. SD and T and SJ and Philly were off on mini vaca for several days but returned on Friday, showed up at dinner to grace us with their presence, and basically dialed it in. They seemed disinterested, aloof, and burned out on the guests who had traveled during a pandemic to middle-of-nowhere France at great expense to meet them. I actually found Tatianna to be refreshingly authentic and interesting; she was one of the only ones besides Josie who recognized how messed up the whole operation is - and she was definitely treated as an outsider. SJ and snorty were "flouncing" about avoiding people as much as possible, except those who had given them copious amounts of presents, had social capital or big money; they gushed over them for a few minutes before disappearing again. The food was delicious thanks to Josie and the table settings were nice, so mealtime was lovely - but you can get a lovelier meal almost anywhere in France - it's not the reason you make CLL your destination. SJ sells it hard on her vlog as a welcoming place to interact with her and her posse and experience a glimpse into chateau life. It's not. I rented an apartment and it was clean thanks to the slave laborers. There were no window coverings and the bathroom door didn't close so I could see right into the parking area while sitting on the throne. And there was no heat in the late autumn. From the moment I arrived, it was clear that I did not pass the "Natti test" and I was treated like an interloper and an inconvenience. She wouldn't even let me enter the chateau for the first two days and forbade Josie from taking a walk with me because of all the work she was required to do. For 3 nights and 4 days, I was the only one in that huge building with 3 volunteers, one of whom told me they couldn't be bothered with the guests and another who ran away from me at a full sprint when approached. I was totally isolated. I also got in a car accident while I was there (the other driver's fault - no injuries but my car was totaled) and NO ONE at CLL helped me deal with the aftermath except Amaury - in his "spare time". Can you imagine? It was a nightmare. And I was not the only unhappy customer. Several people encountered complications or problems and no one at CLL offered to help. The whole experience was a joke. The only saving grace was the beautiful countryside and villages in the area. I spent most of my time exploring the region's art galleries, shops, museums, restaurants, and walking paths, and I dreaded going back there each day. Luckily CLL was not my only destination. I could fill this forum with all the problems I encountered there- and I never complained - I just bided my time and got the hell out. Most of all I want to get the message to others: Just don't go. And stop supporting her on Patreon and YouTube. Everything I've read in this forum is true. I wish I had found it before my travels.

- They ARE getting married, but after Natti & Amuary. There will be no joint nuptuals.
- There will be a blessing in the chapel
- They have not set a date - Fanny is in no hurry (NO SHIT)
- Snorty wants an intimate autumnal wedding for 20 guests (he has no friends), but Fanny wants to invite eveyone she's ever met to an OTT summer affair. (For Snorty the wedding depends on the size of the dinner service, so if he starts compiling a 100 piece dinner service we'll know how large the wedding will be).
- Snorty has known what he wants his wedding outfit to look like since we was a child (ofcourse he did)
- Fanny wants 3 outfits - 1 for the registry, 1 for the blessing & 1 for the paaaaaaarty
- Snorty likes small weekend getaways and prefers to stay home while Fanny enjoys grand excursions, BUT,
- Fanny wants them to travel to India to look for a stone for the wedding ring - ideally a pink sapphire or maybe a yellow citrine (which Tattler guessed a trip to India or nuptuals in India????)
- Fanny thinks Snorty is a language savant because he can speak Dutch, Lindberg, English, German and French. Yes Fanny, Snorty's a mimic - he mimic'd & love-bombed you, you desperate cow!
- Was invited to apply to Disney (the porn channel) as an animator, but didn't want to compromise his own art
- Fanny lists all his fake allergies (too long to write down here)
- Had nightmares as a child but his grandfather helped him to get over them (Snorty was aninsipid little boy who grew up to be an insipid little boy)

Most, if not all, of the chapel restoration is being paid for by Adopt a Star and the Lake money etc. which was previously accumulated.
Where in the hell is all of the monthly Patreon money going???????????

This vlog first reminds me of my own antique 20K sq ft home in California, and the thousands of square feet of attic space with a vaulted ceiling and loft with thousands more, off our Library. It is so nice to see others, like us, who choose to live in these enormous historic homes, and are passionate and empathetic in our conservation restorations. The ruin veranda of the other Chateau reminds me of my almost lost flying double veranda that was peeling off the house and risking collapse, which is today one of the most incredibly beautiful places to stand and look in awe of the mansion, pristinely preserved and almost perfect. The exploration, lite food, and perfect company on your outing made it so enjoyable!

Glad somebody else noticed that about the containers. I can’t tell without a full on side view but those appear to be 20’ TLC (total loss containers) boxes. All of the contents will be destroyed within 30 days. If it rains everything will be useless within 72 hours. Even items generally impervious will be lost. The combination of heat, water and biological growth will destroy metal and porcelain as well. Even some glass types will be affected. All of PhiPhi’s precious cut glass stemware will explode due to the temperature differential. Oh I do hope we get an unboxing video in two years!
