Just want to say a big thank you to everyone, all 15 of you, for keeping me entertained these last few weeks. I'm in the UK now for Mums funeral tomorrow morning, you'll never know what a joyful distraction this has been. Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas. A plus x

Let’s recapitulate Philip Janssen’s attribution to the channel that is wheeling in the money for Stephanie Jarvis: he provided content (not), he edited (maybe, but very flawed if you want to be kind), opened a shop (not), started his own channel (not, but he’s still dreaming of it), offered family accounting services (bingo!). Now let’s evaluate why they are still together….

i find it so weird to bugger off on a trip around Europe just the week before Christmas..I try to slow down a bit with work this week so i can get into the spirit of Christmas..Take some time to meet people not in a rush....do some shopping, decorating , putting lights in trees etc ..simply enjoyment..

I was on a walk this morning..the ground frozen...everything white...not with snow but you know..i met a lott of people who were doing the same...i had such nice conversations...thats Christmas for me...a bit of rest, enjoy family and friends..and a bit of help here and there...and offcourse good food and a drink...a cozy fire in our warm decorated cottage..the dogs in front of it... I know i like the simple pleasures of country life...And on Christmasday a nice dinner in the big house surrounded by family and friends..

Why those people always feel the need to travel all the time, and in special in the middle of winter..it puzzles me...

And that's a wrap. My mum has had enough of the UK and the "The wonderfully under-qualified PM", and is going back to live in her summer home in the midwest US. "Um, Mum, you do realize they are about to have a blizzard and sub-zero temps there, right?" "At least my heat will be affordable and ON when I want it to be! I have a fireplace there!" "You're very determined. And what of the UK house?" "Ironically, I sold it to a lovely couple from Canada- did I not tell you?" "Mum, we talk almost every day, yet you FAILED to mention this. What the hell?" Riddle me this, my UK Tattlers- because my mum is overdramatic at times, I am not sure if her claims are certainly just mum just being overdramatic (yes, she did indeed sell her home there) or if things are getting that bad in the UK.
Us Brits are a stiff upper life type when facing troubles but I have to say things are pretty bad here 😞 Just a few personal examples in Oxfordshire;
Heating my home is costing around £140 a month.
Electric bill is £120 a month.
Hardly any food on the shelves in my local supermarkets (not sure if a nationwide situ), it’s hard to get a basic full shop in one place, if at all.
Today the ambulance drivers are on strike and we’ve been advised to call a taxi to get to A&E and that heart attack and stroke victims could die as a result.
I personally haven’t had a pay rise for 3 years yet the cost of inflation is currently 14.8%.
House prices are falling (here 25k within 4 months) but mortgages rates keep being significantly and continuously increased meaning they are crippling.
Houses being repossessed is now the norm and families are kicked out and living in hotels, our local hotel has cancelled Christmas parties because function rooms are being turned into bedrooms for displaced local families.
Crime is VERY high here, we’ve personally had our firewood stollen, an attempt to steal our heating oil, parcels on the doorstep taken, a wheelbarrow (of all things) taken within 3 mins of it being left out all during December alone. EVERYONE I speak to has had a recent theft. This week in our area a men was rammed while driving and attacked with a crow bar for his mobile phone - it’s that unsafe here.
Electricity blackouts planned from next month daily between 4-7pm (peek time) until possibly March.
Heating oil and petrol at record high prices, my elderly neighbour in her 90’s comes here to get warm and use our oven because she can’t afford to turn hers on 😞
Used cars at record high prices to such a degree it’s now common to sell your car and simply not have one. My friend couldn’t afford the repair bill so was forced to sell her car last month.
Rescue centres are overrun with pets owners can no longer afford.
Domestic violence within the home is at a record high.
I could go on but I’m aware I’m taking up space on this thread. It’s seriously bad for lots of people and it’s unpleasant here. Just some of the strikes planned this week;

Alexander was forced out because he's not part of the "Firm". They couldn't risk having an outsider listening in on their plotting and scheming. All the family and friends that are invited are in on the scam. Every single one of them. They'll be a lot of discussion and planning and not in a good way. This Christmas is definitely the first time the entire tribe has gathered under one crumbling roof.

We didn't even put up a tree this year. My kids' dad gave us a 7' pre-lit LED tree a few years ago and we've always put it up on Dec. 1st but this year we just...didn't. We don't have any little kids living here anymore so my daughter figured, why bother. We went crazy with the presents but nowhere to put them. I guess we'll just hand them out right out of the shopping bag...I did wrap them!!!...LOL...sorry I'm just not in the Christmassy mood.
One of the most memorable Christmases for me was when I was 12 years old. My grandmother had a massive heart attack about 2 weeks before Christmas. She lived about 6 hours away, so my mom immediately dropped everything and rushed to be with her (and my grandfather) at the hospital. About one week later, when school let out for Christmas break, my dad, sister, and I joined her. We spent Christmas away from home unexpectedly that year. No Christmas tree, no presents, no big Christmas dinner. But, we were together. After a month in the hospital, my grandmother recovered and went home. So, don’t worry about the Christmas tree or all the other “trappings” around the holidays. Just enjoy spending time with the people you love and care about. ❤

Is this the same guy the Pethericks dumped off at the shitoo?
If so, Tattle is calling you....come to us Alexander and receive a warm embrace🫂 from the 15 or so menapausal trolling hags😉

I’m sure Stephanie Jarvis thinks she’s very clever, hitting two birds with one stone by showing off Armoir’s handywork back in England. Instead, what she did show off was more details and backgrounds to their grift, that clearly has been going on in that family for the longest time. Does she really think we would forget about the little construction company Tartinette, her husband and son had created around the project of building up that derelict farmhouse?
A family company entirely constructed around the renovation of an “historic” building with the sole purpose of living in it yourself and enjoying it’s magnificence, sounds familiar? Cutting corners with the hours worked on it, being able to come up with fake accounts for each and every detail, as it is done by family. Let’s keep it all close, except the influx of cash: that needs to come from elsewhere, obviously.
With all the properties now tied to this family, they can keep going for years, passing around the “constructing cousin” and his expert “business”. After France, maybe he and his Argentinian Bully can move to South Africa? I’m sure Percy’s place can do with some renovations. Or there’s a beach house to enjoy.

How's the new laundry room?
“Thank you for asking…” Almost done and the machines are working. No more laundromat! Just need to touch up paint on walls & ceiling, paint the new doors & put up some sort of shelving. Here are a few behind the scenes pics.

Hello Tattlers,

Long time lurker, first time poster!
I wanted to say, it's been so entertaining and validating to find this gem of a community. I got sucked in the chateauverse during the pandemic, like a lot of you I imagine! It was a form of escapism, day dreaming about restoration: I pictured myself losing immense amounts of time adding my small contribution to preservation efforts.

It started with Lalande, then the Fleuries, then branched out to smaller channels, but I have to say I'm getting chateau-ed out. While of course a lot of it felt click baity, or misaligned with what I would do (I mean at some point, there IS too much toile de Jouy), I kept watching because it still gave be that form of escapism. I started watching less and less as the CLL vlogs became more inauthentic (the forced laughs, the child-like voice, catching glimpses of people's reactions to getting a camera shoved in their faces) it reminded me of toxic workplaces that claim they're like a family. I keep watching out of morbid curiosity, and mostly to know what you're all talking about!

I felt compelled to finally write today after the Fleuries posted the candle vlog. I find of all the chateau channels out there, I'm most disappointed with theirs. I feel with Lalande, I kind of know what I'm getting, it's like a food court meal - it's not great, but it does its job. The Fleuries, I saw potential. I LOVED the humour, the DIY, the style too. Then they closed the B&B, and now the exorbitantly priced candles... it feels like I've seen behind the curtain and I'm just disgusted. Asking 110 euros for a candle you can't smell oozes of privilege.

In a way it's not entirely their fault, I think their rapid rise in popularity put them in a place where -- unless they made an effort to remain grounded -- it would be impossible to not be out of touch with the rest of us. For a lot of us 3 years of pandemic, global hardships, financial insecurities, a harsh winter ahead, and general feeling of burn out have set the scene to a feeling of great disconnect with people flaunting their wealth/possessions/travels. I wonder if we weren't experiencing these hard times, would we feel this grossed out by 110 euro candles? I still wouldn't buy them, but in our current context it feels especially insulting.

Anyway! I thought I'd add my grain of salt here.
Thank you all for the free entertainment!

I think the 36 Euro for prints is somewhat OK. If one likes his style, one can hang it on the wall and has something pleasant to look at for years. Much better price than the photographs of the other Michael.

But a candle for 110 Euro? How long will it last? Hours? Days at most!

How much did the elegantly living Nicolas sell his candles for?
It's in the comments supposedly burn for 75 hours so that is £2.20 an hour ha someone worked it out they were so cross.

If you cash out 110€ in 5€ notes, then place a drop of essential oil on each note and set them on fire, you’ll get the same result: nice smell, a flame, similar burning time and the same price

Beautiful candles. I would never pay that much for a candle even if I was rich, which I’m not. Crazy

Alexander’s language was ‘now’ they have no room for me....
The whole thing with Alexander is odd. He’s always been a friend of the Pethericks, not Fanny. Then the Pethericks drop him off at the farmhouse just before the holidays. Clearly, based on his recent post, Alexander expected to stay there through Christmas. Now he has to leave because they have no room for him at the inn. Will he be sleeping in a manger? Does he have nowhere to go? Why don’t the Pethericks invite him back to Begmania? I hate the thought of anyone spending Christmas alone. Kicking someone out before Christmas…Fanny is a cold hearted bitch.

Will someone please give me back the 17mins 34secs of my life that I wasted watching the video of Fanny and her bitch Phillipa's visit to the Aunt's barn conversion! Where to start... Jesus, Mary and Joseph! The Christmas tree plonked right in the middle of what Fanny reliably told us was the entrance hall looked as though countdown had started before it launched itself into outer space!
There were so many flashing/blinking lights that anyone suffering from epilepsy would have been driven into a prolonged succession of hysterical fits! Seriously, the video should have some with a warning of flashing light.
This was not an advent video. This was a desperate attempt to justify her and her bitch Phillipa's escape from the ruined farmhouse (I refuse to call that wreck held together by mud and a prayer a castle) and to provide content for her vlogs because neither Fanny nor her bitch Phillipa have either the intelligence nor the creativity to come up with anything interesting at the farmhouse. She has prostituted her relatives for cash which is repulsive... but they deserve it for playing along.
It seems that one of the aims of the video was to persuade everyone that Armoire had built the barn conversion and therefore he was qualified to take on the work to shore up the not so grand salon in the Farmhouse wreck. Only a certifiable cretin would believe that Armoire single handedly managed the barn conversion. There is no way on God's earth that he managed that. They had to raise the barn on hydraulics... Isn't that specialised? Wouldn't engineers have to be involved? Armoire doing that on his own... pull the other one! Granted, maybe he did the stairs and also laid the reclaimed parquet flooring and did some painting. But no way on God's earth would he have been responsible for the structural work. Would the insurance have allowed it? If they had a mortgage would the bank have allowed it? He does not have a qualification and is most likely uneducable. And he did the structural work?
By the time Fanny was up the stairs and clutching a glass of wine my eyes were eyes were blinking as rapidly as the thousands of Christmas lights and I had to pour myself a vodka.
There was only one benefit to this video and that is I didn't have to be visually assaulted by Fanny's bitch Phillipa's face incorporating his grimy unfathomable hairline. The voice, however, intruded. If I ever watch another of these videos then it is with the sound off and captions on. Paarfect. Now, where's that vodka...

DO YOU ALL REMEMBER. . . .back in the day, when Staph had to hurry to tell us that “yes, she and PhiPhi were girlfriend/boyfriend” - didn’t she add a disclaimer that she had never planned to say a thing. . . .and now all we get is my boyfriend, he’s my boyfriend - over and over and over and over and over again.
Please, pass the airline puke bag this way.
