Another Butter Interruption - BBC News reporting that Lurpak has stated it has upped prices in order to give farmers a better deal, and to ensure they're paid a fair price. Lurpak has always been the spenny butter, so feels relative given price increases across the board. I got a tub of Clover for under £2 from my local Tesco just a couple of days ago. The article also states security tags are added at the discretion of individual stores. It must be exhausting to constantly be making mountains out of molehills.

I say this as an *actual* dyed in the wool socialist, but it seems standard that lefty men have no idea of the cost of mundane things like weekly food shops.

Have your boyfriend do a weekly, forensic and painfully detailed stocktake of what food you've got in, and then have him handwrite it before sending him to the shops with a huge backpack to carry everything back. He'll give up within 30 seconds.

I'm a fan of saying 'OK then, you're responsible for all meal planning, shopping and cooking from now on'.

Most people when they actually have to do it soon sort out their priorities. And if you have more than a score with which to feed yourselves, that day comes pretty quickly. If it doesn't, well, he's welcome to have a saucer of mouldy tea stewed lentils every day for a fortnight whilst you have some proper food.

I just buy proper salted butter for under £2 and enjoy it.

Life is too short to ruin crappy, overpriced GF bread with bleeping margarine or saltless butter.

And if there's no butter, well, EVOO also tastes nice and has health benefits (we go through about a litre a month).

I'm so far behind but I have seen the hammock photo AND - why are her followers so thick? Why don't they know that filters exist? There's like 3 of them in the comments off to wash their faces with a hot flannel to get their skin as flawless as old Mackie?!

This is a niche reference but they remind me of the aliens in Galaxy Quest.

When Superdrug asked Jack for money saving tips, I don't think this is what they meant.
To be fair shoplifting is probably a better tip than some of her other ideas like make a box out of a box, or soup out of a tin of soup

The ‘extract’ - I use the word guardedly, as I suspect there’s not a single word more currently extant - is the worst and most offensive thing I’ve ever read, and I’m including Mein Kampf in that. At the very least you could say it had a *purpose*.
I
Mien Kampf is also cobbled together from other people's ideas and badly written though

I always forget how grimy the sideboard shots look. I feel that they should be illustrating a story in the Observer’s weekend magazine called ‘Why I Ate My Own Placenta’ or ‘Experience: I Ditched Showers and Bathe in the Sea’ or some absolute middle class nonsense along those lines.

If I saw someone stealing something from a supermarket I don't think I'd say anything. But that is different from normalising and encouraging theft. We all know Jack has very loosey goosey morals when it comes to taking something for nothing but for most people I imagine it is a hard thing to do. A quite sad desparate embarassing decision rather than a 'duck you Tories' moment.

Ooooft, she's in a bugaboo about something.

She really does think shop lifting is the answer to the cost of living crisis. Wow. That VBI must have told her so.
