The fanbase Grace has amassed is truly 'amazing'/horrifying/unbelievable. Having 45,000 people literally biting your hand off to give you money is such an incredibly privileged position. You literally need zero business drive/knowledge/acumen/investment/sense. Grace could easily be the "CEO/Owner" of 20 different businesses and with the support/fans she has, all would be successful. Grace could sell year old cheese scrapings as a moisturiser and have 1000 people willing to buy and try it and say it's the best thing ever. At this point, there really is no limit. The ego/deluded mentality she has is almost understandable with the level of unwavering support/finances she has access to.

If she’s actually just bought a buy to let she’s scum, even if it’s not and it’s a second home she’s still scum, no one in this country needs to own two homes when so many people especially in London can barely manage to even rent one.

“so many tasks looming over me” she can’t be that busy if she’s going to see an apartment during the working day

ugh so many things about this, one of my colleagues is dyslexic, she has a programme that reads her emails etc back to her to make sure they are okay, in this day and age an instra post with basic errors IS lazy, whatever Graze says. And.. then the random two excuses for it is hilarious. I hope her Oxford lecturers are proud

She really thinks she’s something special saying “well not everyone with the same privilege has achieved the same as me”. Right Grace so why do private school kids make up 7% of the population but make up 80% of Oxbridge, all of the Russell Group universities and probably almost every CEO/director position at the biggest companies?

She’s the product of class/wealth/nepotism/pretty privilege rolled into one, and can fuck off acting like her fitness pdfs and talent got her there when she hasn’t got one single fitness or health qualification to her name even after all these years
She also makes out she’s not that privileged like her parents were gps or similar paying roles living in a middle class suburban area and attending the local private school, not multi-millionaires who lived in central london or their second home in France, went to one of the most prestigious private schools with the top results or 2nd if look at mixed private too!

“They’re on annual leave, well deserved and I keep seeing them online anyway” annual leave isn’t well deserved, it’s the bloody law to have it! Also maybe you’re seeing them online because you encourage a toxic non-stop work culture?!? That is not something I’d want people knowing, makes Tala seem a terrible place to work

Sharing this for like the 5th time as I think it's relevant for every thread and I'd imagine new people are joining the threads (Also Grace continues to post her daily schedules which make me want to be sick through my eyes), but can be deleted if mods think it's too much:

I don't know if it's been brought up recently but thought I'd share some explanation of Grace and her companies, after again claiming she works so hard and is a full time CEO to 2/3 different, extremely successful companies. I just find it extremely disingenuous and harmful.

Let's imagine that anybody (use yourself as the example) made a viral post on instagram and suddenly woke up with a million followers. Loyal followers who trust what you say and look up to you. (Grace grew her audience pretty organically, but just for context)
A large company realises you have a large, impressionable audience and email you and say "We create companies for people who have an audience, let's talk."
You have a meeting and they say, "Look, you have a million followers, we want to create a jewellery line for you. We have all the contacts, we have the manufacturing, we have the supply, we have the factories, we have the designs and we have the brand and logo all ready. You'll be the CEO and you can make decisions, but we'll do everything for you, the product, the marketing, the shipping, and we'll split the profits 50/50, how does that sound?"
You don't know very much about jewellery and even less about starting a jewellery brand, but.. this sounds perfect. You get to "OWN" a company, you get EVERYTHING done for you and you can promote it on your page and make a ton of money, so deal agreed.
You promote your new line, you sell it through huge advertising, scarcity marketing, influencers and you sell out your launch as you have a lot of loyal followers who couldn't wait to buy it.
You are now the CEO of a successful jewellery company.
You didn't need to do anything. You and a larger company profited off your impressionable and loyal audience and they got a product and to support someone they look up to. Everybody wins.
The next launch is next month. There is a meeting to discuss the colours of the next pieces of jewellery, they present you with some options. (Business meetings!!!) The options are blue, gold, red, silver. You choose silver and red. (Note: Grace calls these "approvals" or "strategising" or whatever nonsense for choosing pointless differences between basically the same products)
You are now a CEO who is making decisions and who is running the company. You upload to social media how hectic it is and how you have meetings and emails and so much to do. It's time for a holiday. (Grace does her daily schedules and pretends to be doing actual work)
You promote the next launch again and it sells out.
You win a business award for your successful company.
The larger company is earning a lot of money from you and your audience, so they want to keep you 100% happy. They give you teams to talk to, they throw you parties and send you gifts. You are as involved as you want to be. You can do nothing. You can be cc'd into every email. You can go on holiday for 6 months or go one holiday every other week and pretend to work through email once a day. The work is being done, the products are being created and marketed and sold either way. Though as it's your audience, it's helpful if you post and promote obviously.
You can portray your company and involvement however you want on social media.

That's basically the formula for these influencers and their brands. Some take the 'entrepreneur' title further than others.

TLDR: Grace was handed a company because she has a large, loyal following and another company does ALL the work for her. Grace's job is basically still an influencer. She goes to photoshoots and sits in on meetings, makes "decisions" or as she calls "approvals" which is super unimportant for the success of the business. The business would be exactly the same if Grace did absolutely 0 but post about it once or twice a day for 5 minutes. That's all she needs to do. Any other schedule or meeting or thing she does is just fake ceo'ing.

Grace grew her following extremely well, in the early days came off as extremely likeable and obviously has her head screwed on in terms of opportunities and money. I'm not trying to totally discredit her work or social media/influencing as that would be unfair, and it's also possible another person in the same position wouldn't have done as well or would even bother going to meetings etc, but I feel she massively misrepresents her days and I feel that's extremely harmful for a lot of people, especially young people who look up to her.

Grace has done a podcast with Ali Abdaal - laughed when I saw because I remember reading his Tattle thread and finding out he’s an incel 😭

Anyway, I’m 5 minutes into the podcast and she is already claiming she got huge scholarships for private school/Oxford…she’s learned nothing, I cannot believe she is still peddling these lies. She also claimed she “gave up” the scholarship for Oxford - it was a poxy £250, she didn’t give up anything, and it was taken off her anyway. Not sure I can listen to any more of it.

Her life choices are so bizarre to me. You spend hundreds of thousands renovating your dream home only to move out into a flat 2 years later? I get the sense that in 2019 she no idea what to do with all the money she was making so figured the grown up thing to do would be to buy a giant house and make it perfect. But now she has lived in it a few years the novelty has worn off and she has the itch to do the ~single woman living alone in London~ thing. Obviously just speculating but a few months ago I did get the sense she was having a bit of a quarter life crisis and felt like she wasn't making the most of her 20s.

Like do what makes you happy and all that, but I think it's very telling that not even a year ago this was supposedly the house of her dreams and now she is ditching it. These 'passions' of hers (the house, travel) seem more like whims and things she feels like she has to fulfil to meet a certain expectation rather than seeking genuine contentment and happiness.

whenever grace/tala talks about their clothes being "flattering" I think about this tiktok
I was thinking this yesterday, like it’s got to the point where womens clothes for doing exercise like swimwear and activewear have to be ‘flattering, snatched, synched, sculpting, like shape wear, like a bbl’ etc, rather than being practical and comfortable. Are we teaching women that we have to be synched and have our ass and boobs out all the time to look and feel good? (I know it’s not that deep but it’s definitely an interesting topic especially when you consider the impact on young girls:unsure:)

AYM are always the brand Grace slags off as an “expensive” sustainable option and positions herself as competing against, so totally see where the owner is coming from. Their bamboo flare trousers are what TALA has tried and failed to match for years

Grace fails however to mention AYM is obviously more expensive as their clothes are ethically made in England as opposed to China where the minimum wage is significantly lower. Yes tala might be *marginally* cheaper but AYM is miles ahead in terms of ethics and actual sustainability, in addition to the clothes not being flown in from China 🫠

Re: her latest stories, she has literally become the kind of fitness influencers she used to criticise. Pretending her body is a result of a quick 6 week guide rather than combo of genetics and years of going to the gym consistently.

The change in her body from March to May isn’t because of anything she has done in the gym. She has clearly just done a cut (i.e. eaten less) - she hasn’t gained any muscle. You don’t need a guide to do that.

I hate the way she always wears overly branded clothes. Like all the fendi and Gucci logos plastered everywhere. She screams tacky

the nice designer clothes are the ones that DONT do this

I commented on the tala swim photo about how with all grace approves she could start using a spell checker and it got deleted..how can you want to be a respectable company that's 'disrupting' the industry but you can't proofread? I saw on one comment the girl said she was dyslexic but that's no excuse-get someone else to read it before you post!!
As someone with dyslexia who works in legal services it drives me mad when people use it as an excuse. Check your work fgs! There’s soooo many apps and programmes that help people check their work, and there’s also the rest of your team. It just reinforces the idea that dyslexic people can’t be trusted to have attention to detail which is so frustrating when I can do my job as well as someone without dyslexia!

Tala have posted that same video of Grace bullshitting about the ‘amazing quality basics that will last a lifetime’ and yet these are the comments...sounds almost as bad as Shein quality if they’re not even lasting a few months

Today's board meeting spam indicates Tala has 5 board members and 67% are female. So 3.35 women and 1.65 men on the board. Perhaps she should deep dive a little deeper into those numbers
