My interpretation of "boss" was that it could mean chairman as much as manager - are there many prominent chairpeople at PL clubs, though? I can only think of people like Abramovich who aren't around anymore.

I didn’t think of it being a chairman but now that you say it it makes sense. Terms like “organisation” rather than “team“ and they’d probably have more of a say in interviews
I've read similar about the former Everton player in question on the Everton subreddit (which in my experience is usually very reliable on most matters, some people there have commented stuff before which then became news the next day etc)... something about him sleeping with an escort, being told she was underage the next day/asked for money and then phoning the police himself... though I am very very wary of believing a story like this when so many footballers, past and present, are genuinely predatory
He was the first person I thought of when I read the story. It definitely reads as if this is an owner/chairman of a club rather than a manger/coach.

But if its a chairman why would they be interviewing surely they have someone else to do that? Office Manager or Head of a department?
It happened years ago at a previous organisation, they may have been of a lower position or the company was much smaller.
