@NineTails20 the guy who is the little duck hut for VAR was David Coote, he was dropped after his wrong decision in Feb for the Azpilicueta and Lo Celso and was the VAR in last years 1-1 for Utd/Liverpool.

But yeah, season defining injury. Virgil was spotted leaving hospital yesterday on crutches. Not sure how true it is, but there's tales going around on Twitter that it's a ruptured ACL. No official word from the club, but it's heartbreaking news.

Liverpool FC can confirm Virgil van Dijk will undergo surgery on the knee injury he sustained during Saturday’s 2-2 draw at Everton.
The centre-back damaged knee ligaments following an incident involving Blues goalkeeper Jordan Pickford after six minutes at Goodison Park.
Van Dijk was required to be substituted and further assessment on the injury has revealed an operation will be needed.
No specific timescale is being placed upon his return to action at this stage.
Following surgery, Van Dijk will begin a rehabilitation programme with the club’s medical team to enable him to reach full fitness as soon as possible.

Typical recovery time for an injury like that is around 6-8 months, though.

It’s an awful injury and it’s one that never fully recovers it will be recurring though out his career and he’ll have spells out through out further seasons.
Same, absolutely crazy he didn't even get a card. So gutted for Virgil too and Liverpool will definitely miss him this season
