Yes, there's a small waist-high iron gate in front of it but you can look right in.Is that the actual room?

There's a royal burial ground at Frogmore where most of them go (eg Kents and Gloucesters - Prince William of Gloucester is buried there as are his parents, and no doubt little Lord Patrick Windsor, the infant son of the Kents) but the Queen will be put in the sidechapel where her parents are in St George's Chapel and Philip will join her from currently being in the main royal vault. Princess Margaret is also there with her parents; she chose to be cremated in order for this as there isn't room for five coffins but her urn could be laid on one of her parents' coffins. Victoria and Albert are in the mausoleum at Frogmore but most recent monarchs and spouses go into St George's rather than Westminster Abbey or various cathedrals. You may be right. Where will she be laid to rest exactly, when she passes? Sorry, I don't know anything about these type of things or where the royals are buried.
Oh ok. Did you visit there?Yes, there's a small gate in front of it but you can look right in.
I thought they said at Prince Philips funeral that he won’t go into the actual grave slot in the Chapel until the Queen does, to save them having to open it twice and that the commemoration stone will be done at the same time? Currently he lies in the crypt?I agree, I think they're desperately trying to get her to the jubilee. I wonder if the hospital stay was to ascertain a diagnosis of some sort.
In the King George memorial chapel at Windsor with her mum, dad and sister. I think Philip is in there too but I didn't see a plaque for him when I was there last week. Margaret was cremated so there's like a large standing stone tablet for her inside the chapel. It was situated resting against the wall, just above her parent's tombstone.

Thanks, that explains why there was no reference to him then. When I was in the quire, I realised I was actually standing on the vault platform from where his coffin was lowered into the vault. You could see where they had used white sealant around the edges to seal it back up. How long ago did you visit Bubba? Thanks, that explains why there was no reference to him then. Just last week. It was really impressive. I'm not a mega royalist, I just like British history and old architecture, and it blew me away, especially St George's Chapel. How long ago did you visit Bubba?
I'm the same as you. I have a mild intrigue in the RF, but not a true royalist. I like the history and architecture of the palaces and castles. Windsor Castle is a very impressive building though. That's right, the largest and oldest inhabited castle. After I got home I watched a YouTube documentary on the restoration after the fire. It destroyed 1/5th of the castle, 105 rooms in total I think.I'm the same as you. I have a mild intrigue in the RF, but not a true royalist. I think there's a quotation of Margaret’s where she said that her children weren't royal, they just had the Queen as their aunt.Of the male line, not female. That’s why Princess Margaret’s 2 ‘only’ have the styling of children of an Earl.
(although she they were born, it was with the Monarch as an aunt, but it wouldn’t have made any difference).
Well, HM lost her sister, Sarah her mother, so I can see her being almost an extra daughter, companion and confidante. While being family, Sarah's everyday life is mostly outside the royal bubble so no doubt brings another viewpoint. The Queen probably doesn't have many friends left alive so Anne, Sarah and Sophie (who's said to be the closest DiL) are no doubt her inner circle. She does have Angela Kelly for everyday grandchildren etc chatter but Angela is still an employee, however close.Yes Lady Sarah is believed to be a firm favourite, it was on a documentary which l think aired when she became the longest serving monarch.
It's incredible really. I remember a documentary on it and apparently many of the general public helped out and donated towards it. They helped out physically too. That's right, the largest and oldest inhabited castle. After I got home I watched a YouTube documentary on the restoration after the fire. The repair cost was £40m, which doesn't seem a lot when you think of the specialist craftsmanship involved, and how much a lot of modern architectural monstrosities cost.
I didn't realise at the time, but most of the state apartments and function rooms that you get to walk through, the interior structure of them would be barely 30 years old.
