I remember my health visitor didn’t seemed overly concerned by the fact my youngest wasn’t talking even at 2. She told me that all children develop differently and she’ll talk when she’s readyExactly. He should be saying something now, all ive heard is 'go' but Im wondering if that's another noise more than anything. I dont remember him babbling much either when he was younger?

I had to repeatedly address my concerns to other health professionals before anyone took me seriously. Only when she reached 2.5 did they start to listen to me and refer her for speech & language. Even that didn’t work. I even had to learn makaton. I also kept being told that once she starts nursery she’ll start talking in no time. Nope never happened. Only when she started at a specialist speech & language school did her speech start to develop. It was still another six months before she was saying anything understandable though.
