Exactly. He should be saying something now, all ive heard is 'go' but Im wondering if that's another noise more than anything. I dont remember him babbling much either when he was younger?
I remember my health visitor didn’t seemed overly concerned by the fact my youngest wasn’t talking even at 2. She told me that all children develop differently and she’ll talk when she’s ready 🙄
I had to repeatedly address my concerns to other health professionals before anyone took me seriously. Only when she reached 2.5 did they start to listen to me and refer her for speech & language. Even that didn’t work. I even had to learn makaton. I also kept being told that once she starts nursery she’ll start talking in no time. Nope never happened. Only when she started at a specialist speech & language school did her speech start to develop. It was still another six months before she was saying anything understandable though.

The trouble is they talk to Jace in a baby voice that sounds nothing like their normal voices. They also say things like 'birdy' instead of bird, bird is one syllable, birdy is 2. They just complicate things for him.
And instead of them saying, 'do you want a drink? Your drink? Ok remember to use your words'. They just give him whatever he is uh, uh, uhhing over and say Cleeeaaaaverrr boooiuy.
I don't necessarily think his speech is behind, children all develop at different rates but they are doing nothing to help the poor child, even Isabelle and 'the girls', talk to him in a tone that is nothing like their normal talking voices.
He really reminds me of how Isla used to be in a lot of his mannerisms already.

Yeah I know, there’s just so many signs. Tbf on him though- has he ever interacted with children of his own age? No. I think that’s really sad. 😔
I think that's more the issue, he's had very limited contact with other kids his age. No playgroup, baby groups. What happened to the swimming lessons Sarah was going to take him to 🙈

I find the strange baby talk very odd. I don't know anyone that speaks to their children or babies like that. Especially every time they talk to him. If they aren't careful when he does start talking he will also speak like that. Children speaking the accent they are around so this could be his!

Valencia is a port

Valencia to Mallorca is about 8 hour crossing

8 hours - day off vlogging

Typical chavvy Ingham destination

Unfortunately it is too early to determine this as all children develop at different rates.
My daughter was non verbal until she was 4.5.
despite constant interaction, storytime, attending playgroups etc.
At 4 she was referred for an autism assessment and they couldn’t determine a diagnosis. I was told it was just a complex language disorder.
At 6 I was still concerned and the school agreed she should be assessed again. The paediatrician told me that even 4yrs old One still quite young for a diagnosis. It took a year before she was given a working diagnosis for autism and a further year until we were given a formal diagnosis of ASD.
She is 10 now and 4 yrs behind in her development, both academically and emotionally.
She starts secondary school September and I’m absolutely dreading it 😬😬

One thing I can determine is that if his first word is mummy it won’t be to Sarah.
Good luck to your daughter. I’m in Scotland so things may be different but can you start high school at 10. The youngest we can start is 11 and a half

Re lil mans lack of speech, my daughter was also a late talker, the health nurse said it was because her brothers always talked for her. We had to stop them from answering for her and eventually she started talking. She did say all the milestone words, mum, dad, Bub, dog,cat etc just not sentences. They don’t give him the chance to speak or even encourage him, he just has to go ehhh ehhh ehh and they either shove food in his gob or a drink or a toy. Is this lazy keeping him a baby By not encouraging speech, maybe!

I had a late talker too but by the time she was a year you could ask her things like where’s your nose or whatever. By jace’s age she understood everything and had enough words for her basic needs - milk, mummy, daddy, cat etc she had a wide vocabulary by her 2.5 year check.

she also started reading twilight and was so furious half way through the first book (feminist reasons) she refused to read the rest 😂 reading twilight isn’t really anything to be proud of, it sends a disgraceful message to girls about what to expect in relationships.

It's like children who have parents who speak 2 different languages to them at home. They say their speech generally comes later because they have more to master.
Poor Jace is having to master, Lazy's put on paused 'posh' accent, Creepy's rastamouse accent, the girls yorkshire accent and the baby accent. So confusing for him. I can only imagine his reaction when he's an adult and watches these vlogs back and hears how they talk to him.
It's weird as hell.

Attempting to diagnose any potential issues that Jace may have is fraught with difficulties through the medium of these vlogs. I don’t think it’s possible to draw any meaningful conclusions from what we see, other than that I feel very sorry for him.

Let's face it, the kid either has a dummy or a bleeping doughnut shoved in his gob half the time, he doesn't get a chance to try to talk

Why do they narrate stuff like their dinners instead of showing them on camera? How inane. Can't even vlog properly.

And Isla got about 5 seconds to talk about how she read 100 pages of Harry Potter in a few days (advanced for a first grader) before Jace ran across the shot and Isabelle interrupted to talk about Twilight again. Sarah forgot about Isla immediately of course.
You can tell isla made that up aswell 100page I've read and now on page 200 lol liessss

Think they would've got the ferry from Barcelona though, but never know with the Inghams, especially how we all know what thoughts and plans these experienced travellers put into place.

I find it very concerning aswell, at his age with 3 older sisters and both parents, constantly talking as their filming “everything” my niece was a chatterbox at his age, even tiny words all mumble jumbled by none the less they were words, all Jace knows is “ehh.” They all go on about how he says, meow and woof etc.. but when have we ever actually heard it ?...
definitely is some kind of developmental delay.
I follow Gemma Atkinson on insta, her and Gorkas little girl is just 13 months old. Today Gemma has posted a story of Mia pointing to a squirrel and she was jibber jabbing, as if she was having a conversation with Gemma, I swear she almost said squirrel.
And all we get is "eh" from Jace, poor lad.
