I beg to differ in some points. Mainly because I find burning and destroying cultural artefacts (and books, for that matter) abhorrent. DJ's paintings are not to my taste at all, and I do not like where and how they are displayed. So wrong! But whatever their artistic or historic value (I'd love to hear from someone knowledgable in art history what they think his influences were? I see a bit of pop art, yes, @Mummy Dearest, a bit of Picasso, Paul Klee maybe? a smidgin of Mondrian? whatever, they are unique!). I do understand that SJ values/appreciates/loves her father's oeuvre, and I am sure they have their place somewhere, but not in a chintzy mishmash of vintage/antique/shabby chic domestic environment. They clash horribly. As was suggested before, a gallery space for all the artwork could surely be established somewhere in one of the outbuildings. Imagine the possibilities, a vernissage, annual artyfarty memorial day, workshops "learn to paint Derek Jarvis' style", merchandise, like colouring books, ;), painting by numbers, screenprinting your own DJ artwork onto aprons, oven gloves, cushions, (remember Dear Brenda's awful artful cushions, anyone? o_O ),WALLPAPER!! Yesss!, etc. I think all this would be simply paarfect!🎨🎪⛱❤ (and for the children: sock puppets! There are enough socks in the shatoo to last for many, many workshops! And felted hedgehogs, stuff your own squirrel utilizing the sheepwool fleeces , sparkly headdresses, tiara style, with peacock feathers. The possibilities are endless! Does anyone recall Oliver's painting workshop(s)? Just like that, only MUCH bigger! The superfans would love it, and flock in droves to book The Creative D.J. Chateau Experience!(foraged lunch pakets included! ;) )
DJ's paintings are in "the style of" art popular in the early 20th century, owing much to Picasso and the Surrealists . They are interesting , some better than others, but you are right, they don't suit the period of the chateau at all. Agree there should be a dedicated gallery space.
The mediaeval series seem to be copies of or to be based on the "Unicorn" series of tapestries. Not sure how close the copies are to the originals. There might be copyright issues.

I’m always angry for Marie, that people use her home as a dumping ground for everything. It would annoy me!

I am indeed envious, I dream of having many languages but I get totally mixed up and sound ridiculous! I think you either have it or don’t.

I don’t want to watch him, but is he truly being b so disrespectful to a women and posting it?

But truly fabulous!!

I haven’t seen much from Brenda as of late?

Actually the rapid test are not very accurate. I tested negative rapid and four days later, after spreading my germs to my family positive. The new variant is even harder to detect.
Oh poor you! I hope you are all recovered.
I have heard they can be wrong sometimes. If a test is taken just after the vaccination, it can show up as positive, even though its not. This may be skewing figures. The PCR test is more accurate but not as easy to obtain.

I too see how uncomfortable she is and her body language is screaming 'oh no, this is not what I had in mind' - he keeps calling her darling, putting his arm round her and she is not liking it, and I sped far enough forward to the next grimace she pulled and he was spouting they had taken things to the next level - that girl is not happy and shes gonna run (not literally there and then, but she will disappear soon enough) , but I dont think for one second he is a danger to her - he just sees something that is not there...a relationship!
That makes sense. I’ve got to agree with @mrsp67 , no rent, no utility bills, no food cost, no kids, no car payment, no insurance for home or auto, anyone would be able to live higher on the hog without paying for expenses that almost literally everyone has to pay for in the normal world. Its all play money in the Game of (LaLande) Life. I would bet my first born that she is paying him a lot better than anyone thinks, because without him she’d be struggling to get out the overkill of videos she puts up a week. Why else would anyone hang out at there long term if they aren’t doing the horizontal mambo on the side, cash baby, cash. Fanny can afford to pay her employees very well, 30 grand in Patreon a month + 10 to 20 grand in ad revenue (although I’m going by what someone could get in the States). She pretty much pays Nutti and Selmar to exist. I don’t actually buy the part-time story, with all the videos he’s in, cameraman job, editing, whatever else he does, he’s putting in more than 40 hours a week. He’s also her favorite shopping pal, so if he has no money, there’s no shopping and no video showing them shopping.

On the flip side, maybe he’s getting residual checks from his Mmmbop days as a boy-bander , but judging by the quality of the videos and the amount of views, I doubt it would be enough to pay for a Netflix subscription.

If anyone has this grifter game on lock, it’s Philip, he’s been trained by the best in the business.
Yes!!!!!!! He is bonused heavily.

Just wondering 💭
If you caught SSB big gaff

SSB : oh we used them 2 days ago
Snorts : LAST WEEK

So gifts are scrutinised
By all or snorty if it suits his table arrangements

Poor Nutti … back of the stable … I can see her reluctance for the apartment - away from the direct access to SSB bedroom
unless she tangos by snorty first

Snorty wants her OUT of the main residence

So he can assume his court jesters righteousness place …. Next to the fire 🔥

Methinks trouble will blow an ill wind in the farmhouse….. now the back door is fixed 😈
I didn't make it past 12 minutes of GAG and moved on to Nicki Positano's Ischia tour!
But, I did notice how SJ seemed annoyed with the peppiness of that new American volunteer.
Nutti forgot to warn that giant of a girl that SJ hates to be outshone!

I LOVE the Unicorn Tapestries and try to see go see them as much as possible (live very close!). They definitely do give off similar vibes, but are not direct copies at all. Plus, the tapestries are in the public domain and part of the Met's Open Access policy, so anyone can do whatever they want with images of them.

Sorry, but all they did in that apartment was build a new bathroom. Most of the furniture Nic and Marie are using were bought at Emmaus by the American lady that took over the house when my friends left. The colors on the walls were chosen by my friends. So no, Marie is definitely not deciding on furnishings/colors herself.
What American lady? When was this?

Noooooo.. I was angry because he was taking profit of his coming out to ask money...
I deprecate everybody asking for money and selling his dignity on the TUBE.
I do not care of the sexuality of anybody..
Copy that
It was so low
He behaves like an adict, they will sell their mother to get their fix
Gwen should make an inventory, just to be sure

I haven’t watched it yet… but I will when I have the right kind of time… it’s so interesting and fun to observe their behaviours.
It can also be very revealing to watch parts of it with the sound muted. That way you get to observe the body language and miss the squealing, squawking and manic laughter. The body language, without the sound is very telling!

Helloooooo again...great posts peeps! You probably have this on a thread somewhere I have not come across yet (let me know) but how did everyone start watching CD? Yes, I am typical when lock down was in full swing - but it came to my attention via a channel Nicki Positano. I love Positano and binged watched her vlogs. In one she did a shout to CD, a video about: "what channels do you watch". So, I checked it out. Was entertained at first till something looked so odd..I think it was the general lack of privacy to all who lived there and the weird projects. Anyway - if I am right SJ never gave NP a shout out or mention, in return for what clearly gained her subscribers. Now, Nicki Positano has just got better in all vlogs and has over taken CD for subscribers. That truly makes me happy! With a small garden and family members they produce so much food and actually work on preserving it for the winter. I know lala is different in ambitions but you would think with the hoard that lives there - food would be a priority?? Or am I being far too practical? :)
I knes her from UK TV show, I was intrigues by her weirdness and once I came across her YT I was able to analyze her whole world for me this is fun pastime and the gift kept on giving, I found tattle after very long time, normal search didnt show it to me even though I was here already to read about some other accounts
I knew about many of her traits and about the dark side of Lizy but it was even worse more I watched it
Its like those dumb tv reality shows which you know are stealing your intelligence but you watch anyway bc sometimes you learn something new

With the food being of the priority - you need to watch and get to understand her personality more, in that way you would know that she would never prioritize it

I also saw her on the ETTC-DIY shows and began watching her vlogs from that. I enjoyed them at first, then the begging bowl came out. I still watch but it's nowhere near as enjoyable now. Mostly I watch just to keep up in here.

I felt bad for her, sitting there on camera for 4 or 5 minutes with her zipper down and then realizing it and having to zip it back up in front of four strangers. I would have been mortified! They couldn’t start over because they already tore through one box like the savages they are. She recovered pretty well considering the situation. She was a bit overzealous, but probably had that embarrassment adrenaline running through her. I couldn’t have done it, sitting there acting interested while listening to them read cards and praising the gifts much longer than necessary, knowing my fly was down for tens of thousands of viewers. And how long do they need to discuss the use of cleaning brushes? Watching a grown man open stuffed hedgehogs and socks. And contemplate the use of crochet wash cloths? Is it a pot holder?…🤣 Seriously, they have holes in them.

From today's giftgrab. Still no donation for May, June & July?
Your summary reminded me that there has still been no news from S. Africa about the student at the fashion institute. Shows just how interested SJ is in the scholarship and how the girl is getting on. That girl was exploited by both Fanny and Villiotti for their own publicity. Didn't V suggest to the girl that further donations would be forthcoming for the remainder of her study time? Can't see that happening! No more yellow ball gown monstrosities for Fanny!

Sandro37 - I missed the UK shows so YT was the intro. Its almost like watching a social experiment - how many people fall for the guff and try to work out why. My first slap was when I was a subscriber. I made a very harmless comment - think it was when she and P went to visit a garden, both of their lack of knowledge of a basic plant was hilarious. It was all - "that blue flower" "red flower/bush" "maybe we can have that at lala land"...I kept wondering if they had been raised in concrete. SJ is not a child, yet she kept talking as if she had never seen a friggin Camellia in her life...anyway I was jumped on by zealots. Snarky people upset I dared to point out that a garden tour is redundant as a vlog if its all about preeeety colours. Started thinking then - this is no happy place. Its a cult! I removed my post to get rid of their replies. I am now on the look out to see the food growing aspect. I actually thought the garden was to sustain a business..eyes now wide open. Its summer past there and they seem to harvesting bugger all! Cheers!

A lot of these, “how I started watching CD vlogs” are posted here and there in the threads. It might be fun to post again for posterity, so here goes…

I enjoy watching Rick Steves, he’s not everyone’s cup of tea..👀 @Jikki2 😉 . Anyway, I was watching his France videos, then a video of him visiting French Chateaux, boom! I fell down a rabbit hole. Doing it Ourselves popped up in my suggested. I was on a French country kick at the time and figured “why not”, so I watched, I believe Petherdick’s first video, which was really boring to me from the jump. But the ending with “Madame Mystery”, caught my attention because of how over the top ridiculous it was. She put on this “Marie Antoinette” type act = royalty with a roll of toilet paper on a string of pearls, so I made a mental note to go check out her videos. It sounded like her content would be more DIY inspired instead of vlogs, which in truth, I can’t stand. I tried out one more DIO video where the two numbskull brothers are panning for gold, and I was done. Their content was draining the life out of my soul. So off I went to check out Fanny. Her videos, in contrast, were bright and cheerful, she had a vibrant personality, and I enjoyed her content. Even checked ETTCDIY to watch more of her interactions with Isabel. It wasn’t until getting flashes of designer goods, the Patreon video, the story of purchasing of the HMN with the two exes, that I was curious about her back story and what she does for a living to afford this lifestyle. That led me here and I haven’t been the same since 😂🤪❤🙏. Even though I can’t stand vlog style content, I still watch because I enjoy the conversations more than the content. I was relieved to see I wasn’t the only one who saw through her fake, vapid personality.

I don’t remember what exactly brought me here, but it must have been something tantalizing because quite a few of us joined around October to the end of January, I was lurking around for about a month before making an account.
Yes, I am happy to find an open discussion when its very clear CD removes posts. I came here after teabag did his plea and I was in the comments with 3000 others having a reality say on the content of a vlog so terrible - why wouldn't people tell him to piss off? Many didn't, I thought mostly the advice was good - given the obvious. Then I looked at the CD channel to see how it was handling that fall out - nothing. Decided to look further a field and found this place - and probably wont be the same either as I actually started laughing at the comments. True irony and many facts! I cna;t remember who said in a comment when the pea chick died " FRK probably ran over it in her florist mobile"...LAUGH out loud I had thought the same thing...given her ability to hit things - it was incredible people chipped in to buy her a van to do more damage. BTW after I said I had found CD through a NP vlog...I have gone back over that channels content and blown me down...I can't find it again. Its GONE. LOL...good move, she has clearly seen the light!

I think there is art depicting equal or worse than that, Goya and his scenes of Spanish atrocities by the French come to mind, but I get your point. It needs to have it's own space, carefully cordoned off per the norms of the day.

Yeah, that bit about the grown man and his fluffy hedgehog toys was just the pits. I mean, come on, did he miss days at the mothers teats?

I'll take a ding for Marie's grifter food. She served lemon curd, a winter dessert, in the height of the French fruit season, about 50 times in a row, because she could get bottled lemon juice at the supermarket. And also killed off perfectly good strawberry crop, as you point out. She's a pig.
What would be a nice modern little garnish for lemon curd IN SEASON?
A little piped baked meringue, I think.
Some candied lemon peel. This would of course require fresh lemons. 🤡
A little sugared rosemary sprig.
Some lemon tuiles.
YES! Its the height of a growing season in the good climate of France...any dick can grow courgettes - try using them up at the height of the season...bloody everywhere, can't give them away here. Yet all I could see on their menu was - bought bought some herbs. Its a B&B. Eating local is not the supermarket unless you came to the shat too to see chairs..in various states of repair, then you may not be disappointed. Completely understand Dan preparing at his home - he knew he could control the situation. Worked in food all my life and for the life of me cannot grasp this place even trying to be on the map as a destination - being so remote. Roll on Halloween.

This statement should be immortalized in the Tattler Wiki 😊

I love Canadian French! My lovely mother was born in the predominantly Anglophone and Yiddish Westmount neighborhood of Montreal where my grandparents still live! They all learned French for obvious reasons and I always enjoy visiting family in Quebec and hear them speak a weird different genre of French! ;) 😆
Several years ago I was asking my uncle to tell me specific phrases in (Canadian) French so I could say them out loud and no one would know what they meant….he couldn’t stop laughing….then my father corrected my pronunciation of any words with “d” in them as having to be pronounced “dz”….took me a bit 😶 ….not sure if this is the same as with Parisian French ….. I did love learning specific words such as sorciere (witch) …I enjoy the pronunciation of that word in particular….much fun to say 😊
