The thing with the pie shop family, no one ever mentions Sue’s tender age when she first became pregnant. Having babies is the only thing she knows. It’s sad and she is 100% exploited.

The farming family are different, the whole family work hard physically and no one is watching to point and laugh, like they do with the pie shop lot.

It will be interesting to see how the children turn out after a childhood spent being filmed.

I find autobiographies very dull at the start. Reading about people’s early life and school days is never great.

I liked Andy Taylor’s from Duran Duran. Good to read it back to back with John’s.

I have a few on my book pile to read, I’ll need to crack on!
If anyone likes the Duran books or ones from around that period, the Steve Strange one, Blitzed!, is an enjoyable read.

(I always look through the photos first, does anyone else do this?)

Yes! I was a massive Girls Aloud fan and I was disappointed in Cheryl to have featured only ONE photo of the group in her book considering she'd spent 7/10 years of her career with them, it's like my whole life had been a lie!

True, but I suspect now that they can't afford to bring up 9 kids and run a farm without the TV and book money, so they have to carry on.

Have the farm family got a thread? I've looked through the various forums and used the search tool but nothing is coming up.

Sue Redford was pregnant at 13 wasn’t she? I think her husband was closer to 20 at the time, so she was very underage. It’s all kinds of wrong.

She was 14 and he was 19 I think. Completely wrong.
I think by the time she was 18, she had three kids. How did he get away with it? Why was it all just swept under the rug?

It’s shocking. She was sexually exploited and coerced into having multiple children. Yet nothing has been done about it, and she and her family are z list celebrities now. I wouldn’t be surprised if one turns up on IACGMOOH.

You have to wonder how she’ll cope when she goes through the menopause and won’t be able to have any more kids?

I've just seen this. Wonder what the real story is.

Any one know?

Clive has admitted the marriage is in a rocky place and Amanda has been living in a holiday let they own for last few months. In the comments in Daily Mail, among the accusations that her head has been turned by fame, there is mention of her carrying on with one of the camera crew.

She also has a new book to flog, and is doing the rounds of personal appearances etc. so it could also be possible that it’s publicity for the book.

Sometimes there is a juicy nugget. Someone related to Ant McPartlin’s new wife’s ex husband (still with me?) posted quite a few scathing posts when Ant got remarried.
The best I’ve read on there was one Ant first went onto rehab for his painkiller addiction. Someone posted saying there was footage of him snorting cocaine off an escorts breasts and The Sun had got hold of it.

Also more recently that Matt and Martha Hancock were planning to split up before Covid but then locked down together as a family and she assumed the marital problems had resolved. Clearly not.

Pretty sure he did a deal with the newspapers so they wouldn't run with that story

Another vote for Lily Allen, Kathryn Ryan's is also good, surprisingly emotional in parts and she knows how to take the mick out of herself. Haven't read it yet but heard an interview on a podcast with Miriam Margoyles who said her new autobiography is full of tea. Can't imagine her holding back tbf!

‘So Me” by Graham Norton is fantastic. I think it’s actually all written by him and not a ghostwriter, it really reads like his voice and there’s a lot of laugh out loud moments.

Loving all these book suggestions!
Going to make a list
Apparently Dave Grohl The Storyteller is amazing.
One I forgot to add that I was left speechless at some of the stuff he got up to is Tim Burgess (lead singer of The Charlatans) autobiography Tellin Stories. A must read for any britpop / 90s indie kids.

Has anyone read Tyler James book about Amy Winehouse?
