DEV. SERIOUSLY?! I know I'm being queen petty and I suck at grammar but OMFG your entire job is talking to a camera...at least make an EFFORT to sound somewhat intelligent. Especially when you are pausing every other word and already make our ears bleed.

But don't worry guys...he has a bunch of BIG giveaways planned, including tickets to the park. Seems super super appropriate to gift when people are struggling to put food on the table and travel is restricted. I guess Visa giftcards or instacart giftcards or whatever would have been too hard

Hey Dev just in case it hasn’t been said in a minute...you are an absolute douchebag

you know when you talk about all the charity work you do it becomes less charitable because you are looking for a pat on the back.

just give up and stop with your stupid channel...we are all sick of your terrible monotonous voice, obnoxious content, and arrogant personality

Although the trackers are fake, their on screen persona especially in the parks is at least easier to warm to and less annoying. Tim especially is kinda calming when just walking around pointing and shooting. Dev just makes me want to throw things at the tv

I 100% agree!! There is something easy to watch about them which is why I think they are still loved by so many!

but Dev...Dev you are the absolutely worst. There is no hiding your arrogance and watching you is unbearable and I hope you never hit 100k and I hope you’re numbers fall

New to this thread but I use to moderate for his channel until recently and everything stated here is spot on. My life has been so much better now that I’ve escaped all of his drama!

Wait, that's a thing? No disrespect to you but how does he need someone to moderate his channel? He isnt exactly Jake Paul

True, but jerks are everywhere, from those who spam ads for the next miracle Viagra or to come check their channel, to those with very inappropriate language for the audience. All livestream channels need a mod.

Fair enough, I didnt realise/hadn't thought of that before

Yeah, I didn't realize it was a problem either until I moderated a chat some pedophiles came in on (Olympic gymnastics) Had to call the cops on one of them.

oh do tell!!!
For a few he definitely gravitates to anyone willing to support him financially and acts like your BFF when he thinks you’ve got money but when you’re not giving as much as you should drops you. Very immature when comes to any kind of criticism even if it’s constructive (we were told to delete it). Caught him in several lies about various things (one about making up a story about B in an accident). He always wanted to be the center of attention, and if the mods weren’t basically at his beck & call he’d drop ya. Very bad at communicating with those of us helping him on our time and obviously volunteering to support him and then if we weren’t available he’d chastise us. He’d blow up if we weren’t checking comments enough on his channel (mind you us Mods have real jobs, lives, and families). Just lots of BS, when you’re modding for him it’s like being in a cult! Ask anything you want, all truths here nothing to gain on my end!

Can I ask a dumb question? And feel free to not answer if it is out of line but is being a mod a paid thing or is more a prestige thing? No shade either way, just always been curious...

Not a dumb question, definitely not paid and I personally poured in to much time & effort into supporting the channel. Really took a lot of the BS personally because at the time I really believed in wanting to do a really good job to see the channel grow (which it did 10 fold while I was there). Let’s just say I drank way to much Kool-aid!!

Wow really interesting to know. I didnt realise that was a thing, but it makes sense. I guess it's the same as fand becoming mods of Facebook groups and pages. Having done that myself years back I understand where you are coming from. Used for what they can with just minimal surface level respect in return in my experience

I'm glad to hear / read that you've verified my initial thoughts I had about him (and why I chose not to really view him further).

I think the bigger, more professional channels may pay their mods. I was a paid mod, however it was part of my developer gig where we were building out the sites on which the chats took place. Obviously this was over a decade back.

The professional part wasn't bad.
The moderating drove me to quit.

Wow I can only imagine how much time and energy that took, especially to foster that kind of growth rate. Sorry you got the raw end of that deal :(

That makes sense. I mean I used to mod for message board 10-15 years ago and it was most definitely unpaid...and it wasn't fun. So I was wondering if that had changed over time. I guess not
