I just watched some of her Vlogmas videos from 2018 and I thought to myself "wow, I like this girl" and look at her now ..... what the duck happened? And she was already with Joe back then for approx 2 years, but she acted so different.

Ah I was wondering where is her weekly self-love post, and here it is. Literally every week she posts the same thing: "self love, I'm putting myself first for a change, blah blah." But the photo is the highlight. There is something so cringy and obvious about it...

It's like she wants to post "sexy" picture and get all the attention, but she doesn't want people to think she's shallow, so she slaps "self-love" in the caption...... we all know whats going on, you cant fool us!

And she still can't make "sexy" happen. She just doesn't have it. Why can't she just be herself and stop acting so desperate.

Come on. It's a bit much if we are going to pretend that we can diagnose people as narcissists.

Look, there's plenty of valid criticism we can say about Niomi and influencers like her but please leave self-diagnosed personality disorders out of it. The truth is we don't know her and we are not her doctor.
I never pretended to be a doctor, and obviously a diagnosis is not what this forum is about.
Some people are much more self-centered, and have a huge need for control. It's something that's easily noticeable in the way they manage interpersonal relationships.
I noticed Niomi has been showing many of these narcissistic traits. It doesn't mean she would be diagnosed with narcissistic personality disorder. It's a spectrum, and there's a difference between having narcissistic traits and having the disorder.

Deary me...this may be a rant or a PSA so up to you if you’d like to read or nI wish someone would remove “tone” and all its variants from the working out dictionary. Sorry to break it to ya’ll but there’s no such thing as “toning”. You can’t tone muscle or any other part of your body. You can put on muscle and lose fat. That’s it. You need a good combo of surplus calories, set macros (including a good amount of protein such a 1g to 1.6g per lb of body weight), progressive overload (and actual rest in between) and really good + enough sleep in order to GROW your muscles. This would be a bulking cycle, there’s dirty bulking and lean bulking. Most people will bulk until they have gone up around 5% body fat, it can take 3-4 months depending on if you’re dirty or lean bulking. After this, you start cutting which is eating at a deficit, set macros again, and everything else (training, sleep and now also cardio). Lowering your body fat will reveal your new muscle mass.
Having a high muscle mass means you burn more calories even at rest because your body needs extra energy to carry you around and keep your organs working and all that.
I feel like what a lot of people fail to realise is that undereating lowers their BMR and they don’t lose as much fat as they would like. They don’t lift (the heavier the better) because they don’t want to look bulky (btw body fat makes you look bulky, not muscle) and don’t realise that muscle helps you lose weight easier.
Soooo much misinformation out there. There’s nothing like being strong and full of energy. Lifting weights for women is also very beneficial considering it improves your bone density and prevents things such as diabetes, heart disease, back pain, arthritis, falls in older age, etc.

Done ranting.

edit: yogi.who on IG is a friend yogi who practices yoga and lifts heavy...and eats whatever she wants, no restricting and can still be strong, fit and sexy at the same time. I also follow a few others like her and they’re so much more inspiring than bland Niomi.
This is the mental image that I have of a toned body:

I've admired rickshaw drivers ever since I've visited India and seen them brave Delhi traffic going into opposite lane full of trucks with a full rickshaw, everyone heavier than the driver and everyone's life depending on his strength. That is truly survival of the fittest.

Another example of women with impressive bodies that's also stayed with me since India:

No fillered/botoxed brazilian buttlifted filtered/photoshopped instagrammer comes close to these women in beauty in my opinion. We're just shoved those unnatural images down our throats so we've forgotten what an actual human looks like. I guess the next step will be genetically enhanced babies etc.

I don't think I can respond to specific posts yet because my account is fairly new, but I just wanted to offer another quick opinion on social media. Obviously I understand where people are coming from, but I do believe it's very much about how you use it. This year I was diagnosed with breast cancer and instagram was by far the easiest way for me to reach out and find a whole community of young people dealing with the same thing. Instagram has provided me with a support system I couldn't have done without this year for sure. Also as someone having to get I the train to and from chemo during rush hour at the moment, I find it so frustrating to see influencers getting the tube at the busiest time of day for things other than work or meetings (basically leisure activities) and adding to the crowds 😔
It's so good that SM has been I help for you, I hope you are doing well ❤ exactly, influencers going to yoga in rush hour is the epitome of "non essential travel" we are warned not to do. selfish and arrogant in the extreme, even if it is for meetings surely most of these could be done online? hardly like they are providing an essential service with sponsored instagram posts and cheap skin care products is it?

Not being funny, but I had a quick look at her website which is now really out of date....

Back in 2018 (and probably even before) she had a blog entry (#ad) on 'self love' and 'putting yourself first', so literally nothing has changed. Its not new for her? They probably split because she always had put herself first.

Edit: Looking at her story, she really does seem to have an issue regarding exercise. Yoga last night, 'just finished my 6.30am class this morning' and now she's off to do ten hours of yoga training? She looks absolutely shattered.
10 hours?! is that in one day?!

Could somebody please sneak into her pahhhfect flat in Notting Hill and BURN those ugly unflattering jeans that she keeps wearing? INTO. THE. FIRE. They are atrocious. For sure she must have something better to wear.
She looks pale and tired.

I've always wanted to ask: don't her feet look weird? Does she have flat feet or something? They look disproportionally big compared to her body structure, is she SO underweight that even her feet look to big for her?
*no foot-shaming intended, I, myself, have really long feet*

Sending lots of love to you. Hope you are hanging in there through chemo. You’ve got this!

That's what she said, and every day until Sunday?

I doubt it's really 10 hours. She's probably counting the 1 hour commute to Parsons Green on a 15 min delayed District Line both ways plus the 3 hour lunch break walk in Battersea Park with a new beau hoping to spot Joe -- hey, that last bit rhymed!

Because it basically dampens down the stimulation and reward centers in our brains through over stimulation.

If you start masturbating to porn in your teens when your dopamine levels are at their peak, then by age 22 your nightly habit can lead to some severe chemical imbalances. These imbalances can lead to depression and severe social anxiety.

It's all linked to reward-seeking, novelty-seeking, and addictive behavior. So if you find that you're suddenly forgetting things or struggling to make decisions, get off the internet and stop watching porn! 😜 It's literally eroding your brain.

Yeah, Niomi is not a narcissist. Come on, guys.

Narcissists are seriously dangerous people and ruin lives. She's just an entitled spoilt princess, nothing more.
This was a really interesting article, thanks for sharing!

It strikes me as being particularly selfish that she’s going every day as well - yoga can be done at home, she does it all the time? It’s not like she wants to go and use big heavy weights or gym machines. She has a mat at home, doesn’t use blocks so doesn’t need that. The yoga classes I do have all been moved to Zoom anyway. Like you say it’s non essential travel.
Idk I’m probably bitter as where I live looks like it’s going into tier 3 lockdown today which I believe means no gyms and no indoor meetings with family yet again. But sure Niomi can go to 5 yoga classes a week that can be done at home.

slightly OT but I was shocked to find that "hot yoga" centres near me are still open, this sounds (even with distancing) like the most unhygenic thing ever atm, does anyone else think this?

Sometimes I think the more obsessed you become with "wellness" the more unhealthy you can get. I've fallen into it before thanks to following people like Niomi. After I got a puppy that demanded all of my attention and gave me less time to obsess about myself, my fitness, my supplements, suddenly my skin cleared up and I felt much more energetic and healthier even though I was eating less healthy and letting my personal routine slip.

I just don't think it's healthy to be so consumed in your own self. If Niomi had a (non-fitness) hobby or an interest, or something to work at that wasn't all about her she'd probably look less dead behind the eyes.

Don't forget she is the founder and creator of an overpriced skin care line :sneaky:

Haha. But it's all about her, it's not about the skincare, she ain't fooling anyone. Her whole career is about self-obession. What a pointless existence.

She is becoming Lily pebbles’ alter ego in a way. Both post WAY too much on Instagram and their posts keep highlighting just how ignorant/problematic they are. Lily is the dark/moany version and Niomi is the happy-go-lucky/overly cheerful version. Both completely self obsessed at the end of the day. I honestly don’t know a single other person who posts a grid photo every. single. day. like Niomi does. And they’re all the same type of pics as well - these photo shoots she does with her photographer. It’s such an overkill.
