Personally I just think she has never had to struggle for anything (built her social media platform because she was in a relationship with Marcus Butler, bought a house, travelled to several countries, has a mansion for a family home etc.) so feels like she was "owed a Joe" in her life to make it "complete" and she is obsessed with having a "picture perfect" life.

I feel really sad for Verity as she has lost her father and Niomi wasn't even there to support her whereas she has been there for Niomi through everything (the house move, breakup etc.)

Her family seem to enable her behaviour and she doesn't seem to have ever been on the receiving end of some "tough love". If I did what Niomi has done when her Grandad had passed away my family members would have straight up told me how selfish and thoughtless I had been.

The surprise party from her family was as if she came home from a military deployment, but the cold and aloof way she greeted Daisy Mae was more reminiscent of how you would greet an acquaintance at a work party. Not to mention Lordon McDonkey looming in the background like a spectre.

This is complete speculation, but my intuition tells me that Niomi is depressed to the point where Verity is overly concerned and doesn't know what to do. Why else would a mother set aside her grief (over the death of her parent) to coddle and worship her 30 yr old daughter returning from a VACATION??? And why is Niomi showing literally no joy at seeing her cute little sister?
Even excluding the jarring presence of Lordon, there is something deeply wrong with this picture...

And then there's the obsessing over Rosanna's baby... Also bizarre.
