Beautiful lake and gardens and meadows and woodland. There's fairies everywhere, I couldn't help but take pictures of some of them.
The trellis walk, which looks quite bare at the moment but is planted with roses and wisteria so when they flower it will be gorgeous:
A copy of Cellini's Perseus with the head of Medusa (not a great picture of the statue which is very impressive, but I was looking more at the lake and sky here):
The river:
A goose:
Many geese:
Feeling quite fairyish myself in today's colour scheme:
While walking I had an ice cream. Not really the weather for it but rude not to when such lovely ice cream is available. Rum and raisin, which I suspect will be a controversial choice:
Then after I'd walked enough in nature, I went for a potter around the little shops. Bought a book (Marian Keyes hardback, £8, can't complain) and a reed diffuser (pear, jasmine and vanilla, I'm going to put it in my dining room).
And when my legs were fully exhausted, I sat down and had a pot of tea and a bakewell tartlet. Very nice:
I also saw
dozens of beautiful dogs but I didn't take pictures of them as it would have felt rude.
