Your instagram account is a business. You create content to try to secure brand deals and advertising contracts. You try to sell the make up you’re using, the bed you sleep on and the clothes that you wear by posting them and using affiliate links to generate revenue.

This is not an organic account of you and your family. It’s content posted with the aim of selling to customers. Let’s not confuse the two. As a business people can decide whether they like what you’re selling and they can critique it and the way you’re selling it. Just the same way they critique all kinds of other business. It feels personal because what you’re selling is yourself.
That’s why I’m constantly shocked that these people are willing to package up their small children and use them to hawk their wares. It’s actually scandalous to commoditize children in this way. These studies report on development at 2-3 years of age, so not altogether how your child will turn out in the long run.
There is a major confounding psychosocial variable - that it is a position of PRIVILEGE to choose and be physically able to BF - and that those who are of higher socioeconomic status are more likely to BF. For example, if both parents return to work or Mat leave is not an option, being in a job that supports pumping and having access to the pump, refrigerators, and an area to the clean the device is still a big deal. Yes, formula is expensive, but time is the most expensive/valuable thing out there which not everyone has access to.
These cherry picked “studies” without any critical analysis drive me absolutely bonkers.
yes, BF/BM has lots of benefits. But formula does not make a child stupid, like that post seems to be insinuating.

A good mother wouldn't share their child's most intimate moments to thousands of people for admiration and likes on social media! You're supposed to be your child's safe place, the person they turn to with their problems and insecurities.

She has shared absolutely every detail on SM about that child's life from birth. From the placenta, very intimate breastfeeding photos, to the child's nursery/bedroom/home and so on. That's not a good parent, it's vile. She obviously has no cop on. I hate to think what her child will feel when he's 13 years old, looking back at everything she has shared about him online. Making money off him with all the AF links. It's disgusting.

Is she really unaware of how condescending she comes across? Labelling an approach as gentle or responsive inherently assumes any other approach is rough or reactionary.

Taking fifteen seconds to explain that a child may need help climbing down off of something is grand, but if they’re about to fall/hurt themselves, saying “wait/hold on/stop/I’m coming” is perfectly fine.
I suppose we’ve entered the unsolicited “responsive parenting” era.
