Oh my goodness I've just watched the car seat video. She is really lost. I'm all for being gentle where possible but not when a child is unbuckling themselves while the car is moving. She tries to bribe him with sugar - this makes it seem like it's a negotiation and he'll get a treat whenever he does it. Then says we'll stop for 5 minutes and have a cuddle - now he knows he can get 5 minutes of cuddles whenever he fancies if he unbuckles himself.

I've been incredibly fortunate that my 4 year old only ever unbuckles himself once we're parked and the engine is off (we've explained why this is critical and he understands) but if he did this and being stern didn't work I'd show him videos of car seat safety tests and what happens to unrestrained passengers in accidents. She loves to play the victim and make out that she's tried everything and he can't be stopped, but this is basic safety and it's her job to figure something out even if it's hard.

The new video is up. How I budget as a self employed mum she’s still employed until September

I think she must be. Statutory pay is only 1 year and she must have started it from, at least, Halle's birth, early July last year. That means in a few weeks that money will be over, if it isn't already (my guess is that it is). So technically her only source of income is from self-employment.

What I am dubious about is her employer holding her job for over 2 years after going on maternity. It seems hugely generous and frankly I am doubtful that it is true.

whether it's 2 or 4 it doesn't matter. Where I live it's easier to get babies/toddlers in swimming classes if they are mid-week so she has literally NO excuse not to take her. It would be a great way to socialise and do exercise as well. They tend to be pricey for little babies so maybe she doesn't want to spend the money (it wouldn't be like it, now would it? )

The government claims some of those jobs can be automated with AI. I think a lot of what Shan does can easily be, (diary scheduling is a clear one) but that would mean some additional investment in technology - and we all know how likely that is to happen with this government...

But also Forest Holidays tends to be pretty pricey and I couldn't see her spending that amount of money. Sharing with another family it'll be peanuts. I just can't see how if they have 5 kids between them, how they are going to fit them all in one two bed cabin, unless they got a ton of cribs? Or the friends are simply visiting for the day.

Does a 10 month old even have the capability of screaming? My toddler does, but at that age they just cry. And usually for very basic things, food, nappy, if they got hurt...not much else. It's hardly rocket science with babies that young.

I think for Shan, any sort of noise that comes out a child is probably classed as "screaming at her" Halle can only communicate by crying and George has to make it obvious he's after her attention because her face is probably staring into her phone.

I'm definitely interested to see what she does in regards to going back to work. She definitely couldn't hack SAHM life as she'd still want to send them both to nursery for most of the time.

I'm guessing her shitty social media "business" which she does an awful job at classes her as self employed so she can use that to still claim the 30 free hours childcare for George? If so that really winds me as up as I could neglect my child and make shit reels and get more childcare hours. But then again I enjoy the time I get to spend with my child over embarrassing myself online.

If I knew for a fact that she was supporting a small business ran by another mum for free, out of the kindness of her heart, I'd be massively supportive.

But the reality is she just got some free clothes for Halle and that is why she is doing a couple of stories in exchange. Nothing to do with support. Those will disappear in 24 hours.

At least last time she got gifted some embroided goods, she did a whole post (attached) that lives in her feed and has the maker tagged.

She comes across as so disingenuous every time she promotes anything.

Makes me sad when I see G slumped over napping at 4pm. The nap drop is difficult and you need to be all over it to ensure the kid is getting good quality sleep. No wonder G is hyper, he isn't SEN he is just constantly running on adrenaline from not getting good quality sleep.

I felt the same. That’s passing out from pure exhaustion. And to think that the melatonin was meant to be a magic cure! If she stuck to a rigorous routine for a week she’d get his night time sleep sorted. I think she lets him nap because it gives her a short term break. I did the same yesterday - let my one year old have a three hour nap instead of two hours and he wouldn’t go to sleep until almost nine at night . I knew I’d pay the price in the evening! Trouble is, she seems to let it happen every day with her son that’s way too old to need a sleep.
