Exactly. She signed off on the whole thing before it went live, and it will have been built and tested according to her exact specifications. All responsibility rests with her.She's talking shite. I work at an ecommerce agency and we would never launch a WordPress site for a big retail operation like this. She would have been told that. She's gone for the cheapest option. You can do it, yes, but it's not suitable for what she needed.
If she did things properly, she'd have had agencies pitch their recommended approach and chosen based on that. A contract would be drawn up. I've seen this so many times, businesses getting in over their head with no one qualified to manage the project and blaming the agency when it goes wrong. She needs to take some responsibility here.

The freaks would do well to remember that a lot of her recommendations are paid for by the brand as well. I'm not in the group but there seems to be a real lack of critical thinking and willingness to research things, and people abandoning products that worked for them because CH said so. I think some of the criticsm re the failure of the estate is a bit much. I'm not an IT expert but we don't know what they were paid to do and whether the agency were given the correct specification or whether CH was cheap with the service she wanted or if the agency had actually made a balls up. She did take responsibility initially and she clearly feels that the agency messed up. To be fair I'm no IT expert and would rely on what so called experts told me although I would hope CH has more IT knowledge than I do.
My firms servers went down on Monday all afternoon and none of us could do any work, it happens.
