I have long hair and a pretty bad patch of grey right at the front. I have no choice but to get my hair done every 8-10 weeks. I get a full head or half head of scattered highlights, olaplex, toner, cut and blow dry for the €220 mark.
Going blonde has made my maintenance easier and my hair in better condition. When I was auburn I would have to colour my hair every 4-6 weeks and it was hard on my hair.
Ooh! A Mallen streak! 😄

I am not sleeping properly
Have you tried melatonine for sleeping? It's honestly the only thing that make me sleep okay-ish (I get nocturnal during my luteal phase, fun 🙃). I was a bit dubious (thought it was placebo effect) but it's a life saver after 5 years of insomnia. Not all 'brand' are equal so you may need to use a higher or lower dose (anything between 1 to 5mg is safe).

Would love to know how much people spend on their haircuts and how often?
I haven't been to the hairdresser in like 10+ years... I cut my own hair every month (I have long hair with some layers with side bangs/curtain bangs/face framing bits). I dye my hair with henna every month and a half as I'm starting to have grey hair on my temples (I'm not even 30 yet!), it costs around 4 euros. The hairdresser in my hometown (small suburban village in France) is 35 euros for shampoo+haircut+blow dry, so I can't imagine the price in the big city I'm living now (no shade to hairdressers, they're skilled pro but I'm not willing to pay that price when my hair is easy to manage on my own).

I can’t stand going to the hairdressers, I have balayage (as low maintenance), wash, cut, toner etc and it takes ages and is so loud I can’t wait to get out! I literally go twice a year and it costs £165. I couldn’t bare to go any more often, or justify the cost! 🤣

Some hairdressers may be….but others are very nice.
Maybe it’s your attitude

Not all are, but you can feel quite vulnerable in the hairdressers chair. I had all my hair chopped off as a kid as the hairdresser was chatting my mum up and forgot what he was doing.
My hairdresser hasn't been treat very well by some clients but she has moved to a new place and can pick and choose who she has now.

Gosh that’s a very broad statement! I’ve gone to dozens over the years and I don’t think I’ve ever had a bad experience (personality wise). Some shocking cuts though 😂.

The worst was a well known salon where you would often find actors sweeping up - well known ones. I honestly thought I was seeing things as you don't expect them to be sweeping up when they're famous. 😄

Not bitchy too me when I’m in the chair, not experienced that at all. But the talk amongst each other. Entertaining though

I’ve also never had a bitchy hairdresser. My current ones are brilliant, I’ve been able to go shorter since finding them as I actually find them reasonably priced and I look forward to going every 8 weeks or so cause I know they’ll do what I want. I’ve not always had that and have ended up with some terrible do’s over the years!!!

I’m letting my greys naturally take over so don’t have to worry about the price of colour anymore and pay £38. Just outside Birmingham for reference

Has anyone any recommendations for a good strapless bra for a bigger chest? I'm heading out next weekend but need a strapless bra for the top I'm wearing, I'm a 34DD so need something with good support!

Reading this as father Jack is hilarious. Can’t help you I’m afraid, but thanks for the laugh.

This is not particularly helpful, but have you ever looked at the Boob or Bust method of measuring your bra size? A slightly more helpful comment from me though is I found the Panache Evie to be a supportive strapless bra.

Thank you so much, I will check both out! Always find Panache a great brand x

My hairdresser is ace. Not at all bitchy. We moved in the same circles as teens and still have a lot in common. I’ve been today actually, cut, colour and blow dry is £65 here in the midlands. I was there for four hours and my hair is just shy of waist length.

I was paying £50 for wash/cut and blow dry at a curly specialist hairdresser until recently and used to go 3 times a year. After a disappointing experience last time when she made next to no effort to give any shape to my thin below shoulder length hair, I looked up cutting my own hair on YouTube and cut it myself into a-line bob. It looks genuinely lovely both blow dried into a sleek bob or air dried into my wavy/curly natural pattern.

With a few exceptions I’ve always coloured my own hair with box dyes or using professional colours and developers- it’s not rocket science, if you have understanding of the colour wheel and what different types of dyes can achieve.

My 13 old has a mid-waist hair which she lets me cut once every few months. We put some layers at the front and leave it blunt at the back. I use good quality hairdressers scissors and a comb and she’s really happy with the results. I keep asking her if she wants to get booked to have it cut professionally but she wouldn’t let anyone else touch her hair.

I have had a few disappointing curly cuts too, I now go to a local hairdresser who isn’t a curl specialist but cuts my hair dry and freehand and it’s the best cut I have ever had. I have been tempted to cut my own but am nervous after a few disastrous attempts in my teens😂
