I definitely will do that cos I’m really regretting now not standing my ground more at the time!!
You were paying them for a service. It was shoddy. The lack of customer service is appalling. A lot of hairdressers rent chairs so she would get the bulk of what you paid if that were the case. If you were late you might get fined.

I haven't tried the original but I got the dupe from Eden. Stunk of pencil shavings, which I hear the original does too for some reason on some people...
I had a bottle of the real thing. That was exactly the smell on me. Nobody chased me, not even someone with a pencil fetish. One to try before you buy.

Where can we buy these in the UK? Or do you have any recommendations?
There are uk sellers - but I buy them from target in the US get them sent to my P.O. Box ( I use stackry, it’s free to set up ) and they then ship to me here in the UK, it sounds a faff, but I’ll do a massive bath and body works order and anything else I want from target - tree hut scrubs/ ranch / clothes and they ship all in one box 💪

I’m a big fan of a straight leg jean, one roll up, with thick socks and flat boots at winter. Classic look that suits most.
In reality, I’ve been wearing secondhand super skinny maternity jeans for the past four months because I refuse to buy new ones 😆 can’t wait to get back into normal jeans.

I’m hoping this thread will have some answers but if there’s a better one please direct me to it so I’m not clogging the thread up!!

Does anyone have any recommendations for a budget friendly natural daily makeup routine/some affordable basic clothes? I’m not expecting anyone to list absolutely everything they use but I’m currently having a bit of an identity crisis and want to try a whole new routine/style that highlights my natural features more - if anyone has any tips or products that they could suggest I’d be so grateful, I really just want to get into a good routine and feel more put together as my current style/clothes just don’t feel like me anymore
I have recently found this ELF mascara for £6 and it is amazing! I ran home in the rain yesterday from work and it didn’t budge or run at all, gives length, volume and curl and is way better than Benefit ones I’ve tried in the past, and the Maybelline Sky High that’s recommended quite often on here and other threads, which I bought but didn’t rate.

Hey guys! Just some advice please…I have a friends wedding coming up in March where I need to wear a bridesmaid dress. I bought the dress in 2 sizes, my normal size (12) and the size down (10). Ive been trying to lose weight recently, but it’s slowed down lately because of my birthday, holidays, etc.

Both the 12 and the 10 fit but the 10 is really tight, especially when I’m sat. It still zips up though. Should I keep the 10 as motivation to lose weight by March? I reckon I’d need to lose about 6-8 pounds for it to be comfortable. Or just keep the 12? If I do lose weight though, the 12 might end up being loose (I wish 🤣). Thank you girls x
Would you be able to get the 12 tailored if it needs it? Easier to make a dress smaller than bigger. I'd keep the 12.

Ah that’s a tricky one then. If you are usually happy with them then I’d grumpily wait but expect a big discount for the inconvenience. If there’s no apology/decent excuse as well as an offer of a decent discount when she eventually gets there then I’d take my business elsewhere. Also make sure when they do turn up though that they aren’t rushing your service. I’ve had it before where my hairdresser was running late and rushed through my highlights to catch up. Looked shite and had to get the salon manager to fix it.
Sorry to jump on but Omg this was me last weekend! My hairdresser was there but had too many clients on the go at the same time (I felt anyway) and was an hour late starting my hair!!! (No apology) I was giving her an hour max then I was gonna walk out and even that was too long imo! When she finally did start my hair she looked disgruntled as I asked for and booked an apt for a full head of highlights and she just assumed it was half a head! Absolutely shocking service!! then proceeded to not really pay that much attention to my hair, I’m not a hairdresser but I really felt she left the bleach on too long and then rushed my hair and needless to say it looks awful (colour is patchy & brassy) I’ve been really upset with how shite it looks anyway gave it much thought and rightly so I complained and she is actually redoing it tomorrow! I will let her rectify my hair as it looks less hideous and I paid for a service which I didn’t get plus would cost me more money to go elsewhere so I pray she does it properly this time but I definitely won’t be retuning! I would definitively urge you to complain though as it’s not on! I would much rather pay more next time and they are attentive and do what you ask for and your hair looks great at the end! sorry to hear you’ve also had such a negative experience ☹ im sure there are some fantastic salons but my last one let me down too by not turning up and not even cancelled the apt! Also not on one strike and your out with me! good Salons/hairdressers are so hard to find these days 🤨

I’ve got a nail appointment, haircut, and facial all booked in for tomorrow. Been feeling pretty naff about myself so hoping these will all help pick me up!

Any other suggestion on what I can do to make myself feel better? I don’t necessarily have too much of a budget - I’ve paid all my bills and put a huge chunk into saving and still have just under £1k left for the month 🙈 So don’t mind doing something ‘pricey’ x

So I got the Bondi Sands tan in dark and also the self tanning drops. I did a practice run last night and the colour on my body looks really nice (if not a tiny bit orange). I did 1 leg so I could compare and see the difference 🤣
The tanning drops said to add between 4-12. I added 4 and I'm glad I didn't add any more!! My face is sooo orange right now. Luckily with how much you wash your face I know it won't last, but safe to say it's very effective

Do you have everyday foundation/skin bb/tint etc and then Going Out foundation?
....
but lately I’m buying random Primark cheap crap ones and I feel I deserve more going to work but somehow I don’t?! I have a mental block 🥹
Why not use up your nice Going Out one every day until it's gone? It'll stop it going off or oxidising (I've had this happen and regretted not using it up). Treat yourself, even if it feels like it's for no reason and it'll give you some time to find something else you'll use all the time

I was paying £50 for wash/cut and blow dry at a curly specialist hairdresser until recently and used to go 3 times a year. After a disappointing experience last time when she made next to no effort to give any shape to my thin below shoulder length hair, I looked up cutting my own hair on YouTube and cut it myself into a-line bob. It looks genuinely lovely both blow dried into a sleek bob or air dried into my wavy/curly natural pattern.

With a few exceptions I’ve always coloured my own hair with box dyes or using professional colours and developers- it’s not rocket science, if you have understanding of the colour wheel and what different types of dyes can achieve.

My 13 old has a mid-waist hair which she lets me cut once every few months. We put some layers at the front and leave it blunt at the back. I use good quality hairdressers scissors and a comb and she’s really happy with the results. I keep asking her if she wants to get booked to have it cut professionally but she wouldn’t let anyone else touch her hair.

I feel like we've all moved on from the Lovall Leggings however I finally made an order and they are as great as everyone said! I went for the every day high waisted in chocolate and oatmeal in a size 10, regular length and they couldn't have been a more perfect fit. Really happy and also like the paper packaging instead of plastic
Oh yes I must as a fellow latecomer to Lovall say I love my new leggings too. Wore the winter fleece lined ones they other day and they were great!

@milkywaygirl Uniqlo does reasonably priced basic clothes - but which are very good quality. I like the jumpers and the long sleeve T-shirts. They have an on-site tailor who will turn up trousers for a small fee. Their coats and gilets are good as well. They are good solid clothing, no gimmicks etc. I have had long sleeve T-shirts from there for years.

I even find TU at Sainsbury’s good for jumpers and the fitness gear. I know others like the jeans. There is some dross but some golden nuggets too. They regularly refresh the range.

For make up, ELF and Revolution have some good products. I follow the Pampered Wolf on You Tube - she often uploads about budget make up. Just My Look is a good website for budget make up ranges including Essence now that it is no longer available at Wilko’s. I don’t wear nail polish anymore but Primark’s is excellent, as is Maybelline’s Stay Perfect range.

Omg she did my hair for about 20 minutes before she went to do someone else’s….I am speechless.
Don’t pay, tell them what an absolute shit show this was, leave a review, and don’t go there again! That is so shocking, they’ve completely messed you about

I go to the Hygenist every three months. Sad that my regular one has moved on. She had a celebrity friend and I got a lot of gossip which made the process more palatable. Last time it was someone new, and she was brutal. I am going tomorrow and if she is the same tomorrow she is getting the elbow. My teeth never look particularly whiter but they are so clean you could eat your dinner off them. And I do!
