Because a girl going topless to model or whatever is doing so for that purpose - being a topless model or doing porn involves showing your boobs. Going topless to get a tan involves getting your boobs fully out. Breastfeeding doesn’t NEED to involve pulling out your boobs for all and sundry to see and there’s no need for it to be photographed. Doing so is just the mother attention seeking.

i’m not outraged that their breastfeeding, I couldn’t care less but most of the time when the mother posts endless breastfeeding pics, it’s her getting attention for herself rather than just happily showing off she’s breastfeeding. Some breastfeeding pics I see on sm it’s the Mum pouting Into the camera with her boobs out feeding the baby, it just feels like it’s for her own gain rather than her proudly showing it off? Plus you barely see anyone upload selfies of them bottle feeding their baby, pouting into the camera
Because if I’m not mistaken lads mags don’t exist anymore…
So its ok to get them out for any reason, just not when BF

I think that brings me to a UO of why so many follow people they hate and then keep saying why is this person still relevant , They are relevant because even those who hate them cant keep away. popularity isn't just about the clicks from those who like the person .. All clicks are counted. Don't like someone stop following, vote with your feet so to speak if all those who disliked them did that most of these people would just fade away

Most people wouldn’t typically post a photo with their boobs out to social media anyway (unless you’re Britney or on Only Fans) so why start now that you’re a mum?
Surely you’re just setting them up from the start - once those pictures are on there, anyone can see. Imagine your child grows up and gets slagged off because there are pictures of them on the internet being breastfed by their mum?

This thread is nearly a year old and we are still on the breastfeeding discourse.
The comparison has been around since topless models came about.. People are much more OK with topless models getting their boobs out than they are with BF mothers getting their boobs out and are always saying they should be more discreet. I don't see the difference Boobs is boobs, get them out if you like or not if you don't
First time I ever joined this particular debate. My opinion on this seems to be very unpopular.
There is no comparison. A topless model is getting her boobs out because it's her job and she is being paid to do so. A breastfeeding Mother is getting hers out to feed her child. People are PAYING to see the topless model with her boobs out. Nobody asked to see the breastfeeding Mother's boobs. Nobody has an issue with BF Mums actually getting their boobs out - it's more the fact they feel the need to take pictures, upload onto social media etc etc etc. It's a private moment between you and your child, the world does not need to see and I'm sure the child won't appreciate in years to come knowing photos of them being fed were shared online....
For me breastfeeding mothers just WANT everyone to know they’re BREASTFEEDING like they’re superior to mums who don’t bf. When my son was a baby I was nervous to go to a baby group cos I felt I’d be judged for bottle feeding my baby, I plucked up the courage to go and one mum literally told me i should still try and bf him. I was like errr my milks dried up (I didn’t bf at all so it was dried up within two weeks) and she told me well you never know … then I kid you not one week she bought me in a little bag of her own breastmilk 
I did make some lovely friends there but one has gone on to have another baby and is a breast feeder this time and my god it’s all she talks about and I don’t know how to tell her I DONT CARE.

I breastfed all my children and whacked my titties out wherever I pleased. I wouldn't cover up just to make others comfortable. If you are uncomfortable feel free to move on.
I don't take photos though and I don't share my kids online, but whacking a bap out in the park is a-ok.

I have no issues with how people choose to feed their babies. I just don’t care, but posting breastfeeding selfies just screams of self-indulgence and attention seeking.

I agree with Betty. I get the modelling thing - models or porn stars will be contracted to get their boobs out at specific times. They are paid to do so and people will pay for access, and therefore consent, for pictures of their boobs or whatever. When you are breastfeeding you do not need to whack out the whole tit in public and I highly doubt everyone in Costa consented to seeing boob over their caramel frappe (might give the elderly lads who always frequent my local one cardiac arrests bless them 
), so there’s usually a shawl or a top designed to manage BF discreetly in public. If someone is whacking them out and taking photos of themselves breastfeeding IMO they aren’t really wanting to

I find it interesting that last thread, or maybe this thread, we had a discussion about breast feeding not being controversial but there’s clearly some opinions that would make a mother more self-conscious even if she’s not showing everyone her boobs
