Dare I say everyone on here who stuck up for her yesterday wouldn't stick up for that poor working class family on the estate who sit about claiming thousands in benefits and all have the latest phones, huge telly, new car...? It's the same thing isn't it? They've both made a conscious choice to not work and live off the state. Why is Anna allowed to spend her benefits on stupid tit and they're not?

I work with all those families you talk about and every circumstance is different. I would say that if Anna is unwell - as we dont know why she doesn’t work, it is a completely different scenario. Ultimately we only know what she shows and no one knows the full circumstances of her finances.

And amazed at how many people defended her when the same people would probably be outraged at a working class family spending their leftover benefit money on luxuries - I won't go down this rabbit hole, but why is this I wonder? My theory is that they are so marginalised in society, and so used to watching other (probably employed) people treat themselves, that occasionally they think ‘duck it, I want what they have’. And instead of paying the rent/council tax/buying food, they blow their UC on a luxury item. Of course this causes financial problems further down the line which is why there are payday loans. But I can sort of understand why it happens.

We watched Anna do this to a very small extent with charity shop purchases, but I honestly don’t believe she’d leave her children hungry or rent unpaid.

If people are managing to pay for Botox/go on holiday/buy new clothes while operating within the welfare system’s parameters, it’s a bit futile to get worked up about individuals. This is a SYSTEM problem (as you wrote) not an individual person problem. People are only claiming and being paid what the system says they are entitled to.

Anna wants to live the Instagram lifestyle, and I can’t say I blame her for being sucked in. She’s on the edge, like I said before. She’s only got 17k followers, not really a big enough following for a full time Instagram life. I can’t see that she’s got anything special about her account that would get an influx of followers, she’s not a food blogger or typical mum blogger or an interiors account. Tbf the only thing she can really capitalise on is being on benefits really, and showing her life and struggles on that, so then the Botox and lip fillers don’t marry into that. But it must seem like it’s within her reach to be a chanel handbag, Botox loving Instagram mum! I just think Instagram will be a nice bit of a pocket money earner for her, I can’t imagine it’s going to be her full time job when she gets one again.

If they can “scrimp and save for ages” for Botox or a holiday, rather than spending their benefits on living, they’re being paid too much. It’s supposed to be a safety net to keep a roof over your head and food on the table, if you lose your job. It’s not meant to be a lifestyle choice, and it’s not meant to be funding Botox. I don’t really care if you think i’m being judgy, most people would be.

You do this thing called work. You then receive something called money. You can then exchange that for goods and services.
At what point is the government supposed to hand over money? As a fall back if you lose your job or are too unwell to work, to keep a roof over your head and food in your fridge. Not to inject shite into your forehead because you’re vain. Hope that helps

I think anna struggles with her looks. She's not a "pretty" woman so to speak. (there's more to life than looks though!!)
I think her ex being with some young pretty woman is incredibly hard for her.
But I do find it upsetting when she has posted SO much about living on the breadline, having debt counselling, her soul income being benefits..... then she then goes and spends loads on cosmetic treatments in hope to look more attractive.
It's so sad.
Her daughters are honestly going to dislike her when she grows up. Her mum chasing after something unachievable and spending money, emotion, time on.
I hope she gets some more help and realises that sure.... She's not necessarily outwardly attractive but there's alot more going for her than chasing that.
She's quite funny and articulate.

I'm not someone whose fussed trying to be more attractive.. So the whole thing baffles me.
