I agree with you on everything @vikka they are all dreadful people. Harry is more stupid and out of touch than awful though I think. I think he just doesn't know what real life is. He thought he was hard done by when he, like all the Royals has no idea how good they have it. H& M could have stuck around and got a nice travelling round the Commonwealth job but they were too arrogant and entitled. I do think that is Meghans fault, and she should have either not married him or given it more of a chance, but Harry never went for the type of woman who would want to be a Royal, which is why all his other girlfriends ran as fast as their legs could carry them as soon as it got serious. He should have done what his dad did. Marry some aristo dolly bird he didnt love and shagged around behind her back with women he was attracted to, but that didnt work out too well last time and has resulted in a dull, out of date institution with little modern relevance.
On the other hand, the Palace constantly play stupid games with each other just to try and outdo each other on who is the best. Whi could put up with that when you are the one being thrown to the wolves by them all the time? They are all spoilt and bored, pretending they are doing us a favour by existing.

I believe that Wills and Kate did not socialise a lot with H and M, but I also think that most of the younger Royals go their separate ways.
It seems that W and K hang out a lot with Mike and Zara - but with all the children that are similar ages.
Given that W and K had a very young family and MM most likely had completely different interests it is understandable that they did not spend a lot of time together.

Also, MM chose to not attend a few events, like the annual hunting weekend for example. Ok, she doesn't like hunting, but it was her choice.

Never socialising?

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge took Meghan out for drinks, and even hosted Prince Harry and Meghan at their Norfolk country home, Anmer Hall, over Christmas in 2017, which was a “rare honor,” royal expert Katie Nicholl told ET Online.

Seems to me that the Cambridges had the measure of Megz and her antics very early on. Personally, I wouldn't go near someone who was taking secret photographs of my kids, leaking stories to the gossip magazines, behaving aggressively towards my staff and stabbing me in the back.

I found the contributions this morning on GMTV helpful for once.

Also it seems DofE has a pre existing heart condition.

If you work on that kind of environment surely you are sychophantic enough to accept bullying and bad treatment because you put these people on a pedestal. I knew a civil servant who was mad about the royals and was desperate to get some kind of admin job in the palace, she never even got to the interview stage for starters she was from the wrong background and not privately educated. But she would have put up with unpleasant behaviour just to be able to breathe the same air as Royalty.

Again, looking at Andrew, the way he has treated staff is absolutely appalling behaviour- deliberately dropping things to make them pick it up, ramming gates when they refused to let him in, and that is just the documented stuff. I bet they all toady around him because they'd be sacked for complaining.

it’s a shame Tommy Lascelles isn’t around anymore, don’t think MM would have had a leg to stand on.

Controversial opinion. I like Camilla. He’s being moved for treatment so I guess we won’t know much more now until he’s out or the worst happens. Still do wonder about treating him at 99 though but I suppose we have no idea what is actually wrong.

I agree with the poster earlier who said this is an absolute shit show, every day after every day it’s something else. It’s not even a case the Sussex’s just want to legal fees paid they want a public flogging of the media. It won’t end well for them.

Same is true for prestigious companies, like Goldman Sachs or Chanel

Not a good look for the palace, now it seems that they don't investigate bullying properly...
I agree - at the moment it looks like the Palace are trying to smear Meghan and that they don’t take workplace bullying seriously due to the status of the people involved.

Does anyone know any good books on the Iranian or other middle easter Royals?
Sorry missed the book recommendations! I haven’t read it personally but I’ve seen people enjoy The Shah by Abbas Milani which is quite recent (form 2011) and is an autobiography about the final Shah (Soryana’s husband) of Iran. There is also Fall of Heaven: The Pahlavis and the Final Days of Imperial Iran by Andrew Scott Cooper. Princess by Jean Sasson is on my to read list - it’s told anonymously to Sasson and it’s about the life of a Saudi Princess and talks about ‘forced marriages, sex slavery, honour killings and other outrages against women, both royal and common’. If the Saudi’s interest you there is ‘Inside the Kingdom’ by Robert Lacey.

Piers spoke about them on this morning, its on YouTube if anyone missed it and wants to see. He makes some good points, Holly asked him if his relationship hadn't broken down with Meghan would he approach things differently. Off topic but I didn't know he received threats online recently.

I think we are in for an interesting few days, all this mud slinging doesn't reflect well on any of them.
It's brilliant in my opinion.

She had a choice to marry into the family. You don't get to keep your life as it was before and use taxpayers cash to fund it.

If she didn't want her life to change, she should have decided it wasn't worth it. Many others have made that decision at a much younger age.

I think Maxima’s wedding dress suited her really well!
With lace, I think I like it up to the neck, kinda like a Victorian inspired way. I think one of the best lace dresses in this case was Alessandra de Osma who married Prince of Hanover as well as Princess Marie-Chante. I like the simplicity of Princess Mette-Marit’s wedding dress but I hated the flowers, looks like she pulled them from the shower plug!
With Meghan’s dress, because she is so small I felt that she looked swamped in it. I wish it was a bit more fitted, especially at the waist

Brilliant - I remember being bemused by those flowers when I saw them thinking WTH but this is the perfect description!

Blood and sand by the BBC reporter Frank Gardner is good on the middle East.

Just been watching BBC Scotland coverage of the Salmond inquiry. The screen went black and cut out for a moment and came back on showing some old archived black and white footage of Prince Philip.

I thought they were about to break with the traditional announcement times and announce it there and then! Was anyone else watching?

Most likely just finalising an obituary in case but makes you wonder! The intern who interrupted the channel with it will be in hot water

Does anyone not think that Harry is gonna be stuck with Meghan forever?? Look at the duke of Windsor, he got the girl, they got married, he walked away from his family, couldn’t return due to popularity over his brother.....as well as plans to put him on the thrown if the Germans won the war......but apparently after about 10 years he realised what a mistake he had made and was miserable, but couldn’t face having to listen to them all saying I told you so......so stuck it out, out of pure pride......

rumours are that Charles doesn’t get along with camilla either, and he regrets that marriage too
