Sophie is one of the 'working members' of the RF and was attending an official function. The security/escort is standard practice.I dubo
I wonder why Sophie needs a security team/police escort anyway.

Have you ever been so spoilt a whole human was created to entertain you?Conceived to be a companion for Andrew
Poor Edward!Have you ever been so spoilt a whole human was created to entertain you?
To be honest many people argue that a child should get a sibling that will be their companion. It's quite a common practice. I am not a big fan of the idea - but Andrew's case is nothing special.Have you ever been so spoilt a whole human was created to entertain you?
I think a lot of people have two children so they have a buddy to play with. Doesn’t happen for everyone but most people would probably say they don’t want an only child which given the age gap to Charles and Anne, Andrew would effectively have been.Have you ever been so spoilt a whole human was created to entertain you?
I think the Queen knew from her own experience what a comfort having a sibling close in age was … she probably just wanted the same for hers. Royal life is bonkers at the best of times, it must be even worse for effectively an only child. Just think Andrew could have been more entitledI think a lot of people have two children so they have a buddy to play with. I don’t think Andrew was stood at the end of their bed demanding his sibling be conceived!
Imagine in the 1600’s an ancestor married someone whose dowry was a bit of swampy marshland that no one was terribly bothered about and it turned into BelgraviaThese super rich aristocrats interest me when it comes to their incredible wealth. Bloody hell imagine being 32 years old and inheriting £9.3 billion. His father described him as having been born with the longest silver spoon.
I feel a bit of resentment towards these wealthy aristocrats who have all this money, but then i also envious because I imagine it would be amazing to live in his shoes, just being born into that incredible wealth and not being in the limelight unlike the royals.

Who is Hugh Grosvenor, Duke of Westminster?
Hugh Grosvenor is a close friend of Prince William and Prince Harry, Hugh Grosvenor is the godfather of Prince George, William's eldest child. So, who is Hugh Grosvenor? Is he married?www.dailymail.co.uk
True but I bet he was a right bullying little ba*tard to Edward and I bet HM just laughed indulgently as he hung Edward out of a 7th floor window by his ankles.I think the Queen knew from her own experience what a comfort having a sibling close in age was … she probably just wanted the same for hers. Well it is Andrew…I wouldn’t put it past himI don’t think Andrew was stood at the end of their bed demanding his sibling be conceived!
Atlantic College would be interesting given that it's in Wales and regularly has foreign royals enrolled. It was fun to see Felipe and Willem-Alexander sat together in the same row as their two princesses graduated with their International Baccalaureates. Just two dads who know each otherIf they don’t become King and Queen before Louis finishes school, I don’t think we will necessarily see boarding school anytime soon. My bet would be for the last two years of their A-Levels.
And of course if the children actually ask for it. At 15/16 many children choose to go to school in a foreign country for a year, so choosing to board wouldn’t be an unrealistic decision. Also pushing your child in that decision at that age is completely different to sending them away at ten.
However, I am sure they will visit a hyper prestigious school (for the networking alone) with a boarding option.
If they move up while some children are still in school, they can then easily swap to the boarding option if they need/want it. Or if they decide they should start boarding at a certain age
I do hope they really see their children and can make individual decisions to the benefit of the child.

Please let Charles III be our last ever king
The spoiled, petulant monarch is a walking advert for a republic.www.spiked-online.com
This:
To my mind, patriotism and monarchism are actually the opposite of each other, or at best a marriage of convenience, such as the one the king inflicted on his first wife. Monarchists frequently declare that without the royal family, Britain would be ‘nothing’. What a woeful lack of love for one’s country this bleak statement expresses.
Security / escort seems to be common practice even when they are not working. I live near Windsor and often see William driving with outriders and Security clearing the road for him to drive through near the slip road on to the M25 at Runnymede. I’ve seen it on days he doesn’t have official engagements in the court circular so it would seem to be for daily life too.Sophie is one of the 'working members' of the RF and was attending an official function. Why doesn't he just let the security drive him I wonder?Security / escort seems to be common practice even when they are not working. Yeah my understanding is Charles, Camilla and the Wales family have round the clock security (as did Meghan and Harry) whilst Anne, Edward and Sophie have it only whilst on official engagements. Not sure about how Andrew’s works, seeing as he definitely has it but doesn’t do official engagements - I presume his is a unique case assessed by the security team/RAVEC as let’s be honest, if he didn’t have it someone would have deffo tried something by nowWhy doesn't he just let the security drive him I wonder?
I think William has round the clock security but Edward and Sophie only have it for official engagements.
Constitutional monarchies are generally the most prosperous and free in the world. Having a non party political head of state largely unifies the nation in a way President Johnson or President Blair wouldn't do![]()
