It doesn’t have to be a big job with lots of people working for him. “Managing” an estate in his case would mean driving the grounds, coming up with lots of aloof ideas and getting to say yes or no to a carefully selected set of improvements/actions. The real managing part would be done by someone else (as always). I think someone would get a nice handout to manage the property and him on top. So he would work with maybe a handful of people and the rest of the staff will just smile and nod and turn to the real manager afterwards. Not much different to now I presume. I am sure he is already walking around, blessing the staff with his presence and ideas wherever he goes. He is most definitely already full of “his overblown sense of self importance” and “a terrible boss, thinking he is all powerful and everyone should be bowing down to him.
I agree with this. A well-worn way of dealing with irritating people is to give them something to keep them busy (this happens right down at local level in families, various neighbourhood committees, wedding planning among families, etc).

Brenda has got this SO WRONG. Either that, or its a way to make Charles more liked? Showing that he's totally against it. I mean, who could ever want that s@ck of sh!t anywhere NEAR public life?
I think the Royals have traditionally thought of the likes of us as playthings and sex toys. So she probably doesn't think he has done anything wrong and thinks that as a young man it was perfectly normal for him to mess with a young "gel" especially one that wasn't royal or an aristo. Times have changed of course and Charles and William know this and that they need to be seen as condemning PA and kicking him out of the family.

Maybe they could give him a 'Lord of the Manor' uniform so he could play dressing up too.

But all that aside, is it that the implication is that Lili's photos are staged because she's not real? How does that work? Is it that Meghan and Harry got everyone else to go along with their scheming rent-a-baby plan? To what end?
Even if the photos were taken in US, it sort of makes sense to have a birthday party with friends at home before having one in the UK where very few people that they personally know well are likely to attend

It does. They really are unsuited to anything else but smiling and waving ( see also Harry) I keep saying this, but sadly I think it will not come to pass, but Charlotte and Louis need to be made to do something else. The narrative at the moment is that they are being trotted out to prepare for a life in the RF but that means the monarchy won't be slimmed down at all. It will still be all children of the Monarch employed ( by us) in the family business.
I really hope that Charlotte and Louis are allowed to follow whatever career they want … even if it doesn’t involve a stint in one of the Armed Forces, but I don’t think they will. The furore about Edward is forgotten now, as will Harry’s pseudo abdication be in 20 years time

The Line of Succession is cruel, really, particularly if someone has touched life at the top end - David Linley was 5th in line at birth and now is 25th and could walk past most people in Asda without them blinking, Princess Anne started life at second and is now 17th. One person above him has a child and Andrew drops out the top 10. The only people moving up in any significant way will be Charles, William and George. Everyone else will just continue a steady descent with the occasional hitch up a place.

When the BBC in years to come do the umpteenth series of Who Do You Think You Are, the boyband heart throb of the day who grew up in Nowhereton will be amazed to learn that his great great great grandad was a direct descendent of Queen Elizabeth II and he is currently 1500 in the line of succession.

I don’t think they should invent a job for him, imagine the poor people who would have to work for him and his overblown sense of self importance. He would be a terrible boss, thinking he is all powerful and everyone should be bowing down to him. He has lost his HRH so shouldn’t be anymore important and anyone else working for the RF but will always think he is because he is the queens son and she is ready to indulge him.
I don't believe he was stripped of his title/HRH.

No way will Charlotte and Louis be spending their adulthood as full time working royals. Charlotte will become such a well liked person in society that it wouldn’t surprise me if she graduated top her class and went on to work in the field of science perhaps in a laboratory. Kate will want them to have as normal a life as possible. And as for Louis I would love to see him becoming the next David Attenborough saving the planet. He’s already got the charisma.

Anne actually started life as third in line as her mother was still only a Princess when Anne was born and Heir to the throne, then Charles. Once her brothers Andrew and Edward were born, she slipped even further because boys came before a daughter of a Sovereign. However, they've changed that now so Charlotte is 4th in line rather than being 5th behind Louis. Imagine if George decides he doesn't want to be King when his time comes and he abdicates and we'll have a Queen again!

Err she's 6! You do realise you don't know these people at all. How on earth can you know that from some photoshoots? Or Louis! Putting such silly projections on children who have been at school for all of 2 years, and a preschooler is utter garbage!

I hope they have more than the usual quota of brain cells generally seen in the family if that’s the future 🔮

At the least, I hope Charlotte and Louis are socialised into the idea that they can do whatever they want with their lives rather than having to choose from a fairly short list of 'acceptable' jobs (as you say, probably limited to the armed forces) decided by someone to than be pushed out of the working role once George starts his own family without much clue of what to do next

Yes, they have the privilege of their status and possibly education but having to suddenly find a career when you've probably not had to stress about it much and then to adapt to actually working a normal working day just can't be easy. The one positive is that they could pull a Harry and live in however much privacy and luxury they want as the family is absolutely loaded and they will still benefit from that without being working Royals

I don’t understand why Andrew doesn’t fade away and enjoy a quiet life for the sake of his children/grandchildren. His arrogance knows no bounds.
There is the argument innocent until proven guilty but then he paid a stranger millions. I feel disappointed in the Queen for pandering to Andrew and trying to integrate him back into some public role. How can they not understand the public have no good will towards him.

A framed photograph of Andrew in his naval uniform is prominently displayed on the Queen’s desk in her study at Buckingham Palace. Her undisguised affection for her second son stands in sharp contrast to her cool relationship with Prince Charles, with whom she never properly bonded when he was a child. Charles was born just after World War II, when Elizabeth was overwhelmed by her awesome new public responsibilities. She was frequently away on extended foreign trips, and when she was at home she deferred on family matters to her husband, Prince Philip, who was known to belittle their shy, sensitive son cruelly in public.

By the time Andrew was born, 12 years later, things were different. The Queen had gained a great deal of self-confidence, and she wanted to make up for the shortcomings in her parenting of Charles. Right after Andrew’s birth, she sent a note to her cousin Lady Mary Cambridge. “The baby is adorable,” she wrote. “All in all, he’s going to be terribly spoilt by all of us, I’m sure.”

The spoiling never stopped. “Whenever she hears that Andrew is in Buckingham Palace, she’ll send him a handwritten note, and he always goes to see her,” a former Palace aide told Geoffrey Levy and Richard Kay of the Daily Mail. “If he’s in jeans, he’ll change into a suit. And he always greets ‘Mummy’ in the same way—bowing from the neck, kissing her hand, and then kissing her on both cheeks. It’s a little ritual that she adores. Believe me, he can do no wrong.”

I can believe PA to be desperately trying to get back into the game. I can also see the PR machine using him to make PC and W look better. Maybe it’s both. No matter what, I am happy we won’t see him.
Spot on. The “ Aren’t William and Charles great?” PR seems to have gone into overdrive lately - hence William’s completely spontaneous decision to pretend to sell the Big Issue ( 🙄 ) and Charles private comments about the Rwanda policy making it on to the front of all the tabloids.

It's continuing today with the ' Wills and Kate are only moving into a 4 bedroom cottage which won't need to be refurbished' and sticking in a Meghan and Harry reference, conveniently forgetting the ££££millions already spent on their KP apartment and Anmer Hall, so 2 kitchens and a tennis court put in for a holiday home.

I loved this bit

One source told the Sun: 'Kate and William were very keen for a modest home to start their new lives in Windsor. Adelaide Cottage fits the bill because it is a four-bedroom home and they do not need any more as they have no live-in staff.

'They had no other demands than a pleasant family home close to schools and the Queen.

'They were adamant they didn't want anything too showy or anything that needed renovating or extra security so as not to be a burden on the taxpayer.
you can feel the sychophancy virtually pulsing off the page.

chickens, your whole lives are a ‘burden on the taxpayer’. You ain’t going to suddenly be People Like Us because you have a Georgian grade II listed ‘cottage‘ in Granny’s back garden, whether you get the Farrow and Ball paint chart out or not.

(and The Staff may not live in, but there are plenty of staff quarters close by. I’m assuming the desired school will be Eton rather than the local comp).
