My wee granny hung on until I’d been to see her. She squeezed my hand, and that was that last reaction she had to anythingI would say she may of passed today because Harry was here in the UK. My Grandad passed away on my cousins wedding day, and for this reason I was at the wedding which was back in my home town (he was in a rest home there too)
I’ve heard other stories of people passing when loved ones that aren’t usually near them, are there.
A bit off topic but what you said has grabbed me. So could you just be walking around Windsor and see her in the castle?? I'm assuming she wouldn't come out of the grounds or anything.I can’t sleep, the news has really upset me. I don’t live far from Windsor and have seen the Queen several times when I’ve been walking in Windsor Great Park. Such a sad day I can’t get my head around it
Yeah, I’ve seen her a couple of times too, just going about her businessA bit off topic but what you said has grabbed me. So could you just be walking around Windsor and see her in the castle?? I'm assuming she wouldn't come out of the grounds or anything.
If so that's absolutely lovely.
Look out for the video footage of The Queen from a baby to current days. . Its very cleverly done and just shows her blossom from a bonny baby to the true beauty that she was. . Its amazing!!I never realised how pretty the queen was when she was younger probably as I only knew her when she was old
I work in Windsor on Fridays . .I can’t sleep, the news has really upset me. I don’t live far from Windsor and have seen the Queen several times when I’ve been walking in Windsor Great Park. Such a sad day I can’t get my head around it
I understand. The Queen has been a constant in so many of our lives. It feels odd to have a King but that's how it goes. I remember her speech during Covid when she said we'd all meet again. It gave me comfort. It was needed. She did a remarkable job for 70 years; committed to her duty to the end. Incredible.Woken up and want to cry already. I can't help but feel like a feeling of 'safety' has disappeared. I can't explain it. A person who you just believed would always be there. I didn't know I'd feel such grief and sadness whilst also recognising this would be hard.
I hope that doesn't sound selfish. I'm just expressing how I feel about the loss of our Queen.
I wonder if they'll do it around May or June, and add it on the the bank holidays like the JubileeI'd think we'd be looking at a summer time coronation with the good weather and what not
Some people are horrible, what ever wrongdoings people believe the Queen or Royals are responsible for , dying of old age is completely no consequence of that. There’s some vile people about, you know you’re messed up when even Putin can give a nice heartfelt statement about the Queen. Russian people laying flowers at the British embassy in Moscow too, and yet some of our fellow countrymen can’t even be quiet if they have nothing nice to say!!
So true for me too ! Some of my happiest memories Street parties and the silver jubilee,There’s been some lovely words about The Queen, and I feel we’ve really lost something wonderful in her death.
I’m of an age where my formative years were littered with Royal events - jubilees, weddings, births, and tours all before social media & fed through traditional news - we had street parties & celebrated - ladybird book on a Royal event anyone? I feel sad about her death and also the end of that era. Hugs to anyone feeling sad too xx
I think you might have quoted the wrong post because I completely agree with you!Although it’s still a better job that Boris would have done. He wouldn’t even have brushed his hair. I’m glad he didn’t get to do it; he would have loved to have been part of the history books given his ego. He gives me the rage![]()

I’m glad he didn’t get to do it; he would have loved to have been part of the history books given his ego. He gives me the ragevery cold and unfeeling, clearly the speech was written for her and not well rehursed! The way she delivered the speech, finished with God save the King and turned round and went back into number 10. No recpectful pause, just a hasty retreat. She had clearly thrown a black dress on and not even looked in the mirror as the neckline was askew. No respect for the monarch who had granted her the right to govern and form a government a few days earlier. Totally disrespectful and not a good start to her new job!!
