I feel completely drained. Come up to bed but I know I won't sleep. Haven't even eaten today as been glued to the tv then didn't fancy anything after the news broke.
She truly was an absolute diamond and they'll never be another monarch like her.

My face aches from crying, I am avoiding reading anything tonight on SM so I don’t get too deep into crying and feeling sad. So much has changed over the last couple of years, it’s hard to not feel so anxious about it all.

Philip was so bloody handsome as a young man. I always think he must have been the inspiration for Rupert Campbell-Black's looks in the Jilly Cooper books (she claims it was other men but she is a terrible royal/aristocracy suck up and probably didn't want to admit it )

I like to think it’s was her way of letting everyone know she was happy to be back with her Philip. It’s been an incredibly sad day today. I will take my girls to lay flowers tomorrow at Buckingham Palace

I am more affected with this than I ever thought I would be. I know she was 96 but to me it still feels so sudden. To see her just 2 days ago with Liz Truss and now she is gone seems all a bit surreal. RIP Our Queen

I think it is a reminder of our own mortality and that of our old folk. National grief is a healthy way of us working through the inevitabilty of death and making the most of our precious lives and appreciating our loved ones whilst they are here. When Diana died so young it was a time for us all to take stock and be grateful for life and watching our children grow to adulthood.

I bet Harry feels especially sad, as he and Meghan declined the opportunity to visit Her Majesty at Balmoral recently, then he ended up having to go anyway, because of her passing. You couldn't make it up.

Hopefully though, there will be a reconciliation between him and William. Sadly, sometimes it takes an event such as this to bring people back together.

Truely heartbroken. I don’t know what else to say that hasn’t been said. What a remarkable woman and public servant.

I would say she may of passed today because Harry was here in the UK. My Grandad passed away on my cousins wedding day, and for this reason I was at the wedding which was back in my home town (he was in a rest home there too)
I’ve heard other stories of people passing when loved ones that aren’t usually near them, are there.

I feel like she was the bridge linking post-war Britain to 21st century Britain. She oversaw so much in her lifetime but she has been there as a constant throughout ours. I always thought she was invincible because she was the Queen and now I realise that she was a human too.
