My first thought was to ring my Grandad but he died in 2021. And figured he probably knew before I did. He was also so proud to have been born in the same year as her, and to have had 2 anniversary cards for 60 & 65 years with my Nan (this year would have been 70). Just bringing back other bereavement feels and I'd assume others felt the same. It really is an odd feeling, end of an era and major change in all that many of us have only ever known.

If you are referring to social media, then social media is a cesspit at the best of times. Everyone has a voice on there and it can be an echo chamber for certain opinions. No doubt there are people with those thoughts, but I wouldn't be surprised if many of them are also bots.

Some good news / sense prevailing
Just seen this on FB:
Phillip came to me today,
and said it was time to go.
I looked at him and smiled,
as i whispered that "I know"
I then turned and looked behind me,
and saw I was asleep.
All my Family were around me,
and I could hear them weep.
I gently touched each shoulder,
with Phillip by my side.
Then I turned away and walked,
with My Angel guide.
Phillip held my hand,
as he lead the way,
to a world where King's and Queens,
are Monarch's every day.
I was given a crown to wear
or a Halo known by some.
The difference is up here,
they are worn by everyone.
I felt a sense of peace,
my reign had seen its end.
70 years I had served my Country,
as the peoples friend.
Thank you for the years,
for all your time and love.
Now I am one of two again,
in our Palace up above.

She came to our city once and travelled down the road I worked on. We were allowed to shut the shop to go and wave. I remember she leaned forward, looked straight at me and waved. Put me in a great mood for the rest of the day.
Wow, this help puts in to perspective just how long her reign was. The first and last prime minister appointed under her reign were born 101 years apart

I'm so glad we got to celebrate her jubilee, we had a party and went to events, knowing it was her last, lovely memories now 
Mum always likes to tell me of the time she met Prince King Charles Spaniel briefly, she wanted to take his photo and he said ‘I wouldn’t love if I were you my face would break the camera’ or something along those lines, she isn’t much of a royalist either but holds him in high regard for that, says he’s funny.
