I work for a charity which the Queen was our patron. We have been Given the day off tommorow.

I know this maybe “cringe” to some. But Iv had to come upstairs and just have alittle time alone. What a women. I’m so glad she got to have her jubilee, for her and the country… I felt it brought us all together and gave us something to celebrate when we really needed it.
To dedicate 70 years to your country so gracefully.

For the family to have to grieve so publicly.

and selfishly watching others grief and loose loved ones brings back hard memories.

Did Harry make it there before the announcement?

I was thinking this. They didn’t announce his arrival beforehand so I’m guessing they couldn’t wait and just did it before he got there, unless he arrived through a different entrance.
I wouldn’t be surprised or blame them if they did it without him!

I find it so strange Meghan didn’t go. I don’t follow the ins and outs of all of that drama with the RF but just to support your husband surely?

Can't imagine how Charles must feel. Being flown into an even bigger lifetime of service (even though he's already dedicated his life to it). Touring the UK whilst mourning the loss of his mum. Don't know how the royals do it to be honest.

I’ve thought the exact same thing. Being expected to carry on with Royal duties the day after the death of your mother and all in the public eye! Must be so hard.

Kate makes sense. She would have been criticised to death for leaving the kids to cope alone/with nannies

It might just be that they all (Palace + Harry and Meg) collectively agreed that Meg's presence would overshadow the Queen's passing a bit

Apparently protocol is just children and grandchildren of the monarch. I think maybe Sophie was the exception to this as she’s been extremely close to the Queen, especially in recent years.

Phillip came to me today,
and said it was time to go.
I looked at him and smiled,
as i whispered that "I know"
I then turned and looked behind me,
and seen I was asleep.
All my Family were around me,
and I could hear them weep.

To be fair, I don’t think we judge the royal family by normal standards. They have protocols and stuff that we will never understand.

Lovely photo outside of Windsor this afternoon.
The end of an era. I'm not a royalist but she's all I've ever known.
She stuck by her word to serve until her death. I hope she is at peace and hope the family find comfort in all the tributes and the obvious respect and pride so many people in this country had knowing she was our Queen.
