I'm in Caffe Nero and a flurry of snow started to come down minutes ago.
Does anyone else remember the autumn 1987 storms? I've seen speeds of 50 MPH quoted for last night's winds. I'm sure the alleged velocities were greater thirty-four years ago.

Been out to assess the damage.. part of the roof has come off the house. Everything else looks ok thankfully! Still blowing a gale.
I'm over the road in Eastend just been out and various gates, fences , tiles all over....2 trees have fallen onto Toward Road blocking...scary stuff! My brother just been videoing the pier down Roker...looks amazing!Is there anyone else in either Scotland or the North East experiencing this at the moment
I live in the Seaburn area of Sunderland and I can see waves that must be 20 feet high.

Part of my neighbour’s tree came down and has hit our fence.

I live in a seaside town in the North East of England. Last night, there was snow here but it was too wet to settle. The cover for my electric box outside fell off so I gaffa taped it back on.
This morning I came down stairs, our garden furniture is on its side and both my gas and electricity box covers are off
I know they're outside, but I'm concerned for the meters themselves getting wet and causing damaged? What should I do? I thought gaffa solved everything

It was bloody wild last night! Hardly got any sleep and kept looking out at the massive tree in our garden. Back garden is full of fallen branches 
Just been out to fill up the bird feeders as I felt sorry for a little sparrow sat there having all its feathers blown up

Done a quick assessment as well. Roof OK but the fence has just disappeared and a small wall has had the top blown off and is looking very wobbly. My recycling bin somehow got blown clean across the road and by some divine intervention missed smashing into my car which was only feet away. Got very lucky there.
Next door, who are on holiday at the moment, fared much worse. Front washhouse window completely smashed and part of the roof ripped off.
Almost inevitably rubbish strewn all over the place.
I’m in Dundee too, did you see the pic of the trampoline that ended up on someone’s roof in Fintry!

There's a building on an industrial estate fairly local to us in Northumberland had it's side ripped off.
I can see lots of fences down and trampolines in the street. Just a bit felt off our shed roof.

Hope you're OK Watermelon. We're on the camp site in Southport. I've never known anything like it. I felt sea sick with all the wind shoving our caravan around. Have you seen the uprooted trees by the coastI’m in Southport and it was awful last night! A slate fell onto my neighbours car from the roof and our wheelie bins rolled into the street my boyfriend had to go and fetch themhardly slept cos it was so bloody loud last night. Seems to have died down now, only 29mph. Was looking forward to a trip to the Aldi and the big Tesco but think I’ll leave that today
. Can't even go home today as trouble on the M62 and parts blocked. Hope all Tattlers are safe and well, and your hubby returned home safely @monga .
It wasnt to bad near me at half 5 leaving for work, rainy with a bit of wind. Now its blummin freezing and windy!!
All the snow I had has disappeared before 11am. Phew.
North east lincs here, part of the the new fence my neighbour put up last year is now gone. It better not snow!
in wiltshire it was horrible! I have a nervous disposition anyway due to trauma and wind really gets me. Its the unknowing how strong it will get and what damage it can do. Kids all slept through fine, OH woke up at 3:30am (thats normal for him as he works 430am weekdays!) I spent 1-5am checking the garden (even though fences are nice and secure and trampoline is weighed down well) Slept from 6-9am and hoping it dies down soon. Still blowy here and im off to work this evening so thats fun!
The problem is that ever since Michael Fish got caught out saying there wasn't going to be a hurricane back in 1987, weather forecasters now exaggerate the potential dangers to a ridiculous degree.
The weather today in most parts of the country is not "severe", it's "seasonal". High winds and snow showers are exactly what you would expect in late November.
Our weather has been unseasonally mild double digits are usually unheard of in Oct/Nov
Had no power here since midnight! Never heard anything like the wind last night, lots of damage locally. Trees up, fences down, even trampolines lifted out of gardens!
Hope everyone keeps safe it’s moved away from here it’s sunny atm I hope it doesn’t come back
