I know what you mean this wind is terrifying, I can’t recall anything like this. Was just reading on Twitter and so many people are saying they’ve got damage to roofs, sheds, fences etc. It awful

Hope everyone managed to get some sleep. I'm on NW coast and wind was pretty bad, even for us. It seemed to die down around 1130pm, but got up with the dogs about 30mins ago and it's so cold (to that poster, yes I know, Nov, cold, shocker). Must be a significant wind chill.

Wind is dying down here but police have issued a stay at home unless necessary until they clear the roads, lived in Aberdeenshire all my life and can’t remember a storm this bad before

We’re in the South East, it’s a bit blowy but tbh I can’t remember if that’s normal for this time of year as November weather so far has been beautiful and mild. Sending everyone “stay safe” wishes

Well that was quite a night. It’s still blowing a gale but it’s a “mere” amber warning now, the Red has passed. It’s still too dark out to get a full extent of the damage but from early observations the small fence between us and our neighbour is just gone, and I mean completely obliterated. The ominous banging sound of plastics against concrete and brick suggests bin randomisation and probably rubbish all over the place. Will have to wait till it’s light to assess any structural damage. All first world problems I guess, but not expense you want before Christmas.

Didn’t get to sleep till after 1 am, and then flitful. I’ve got a 10 hour shift coming which I’m not looking forward to. The cat, who is usually about as friendly as a rattlesnake on a hamster farm spent all night curled up next to our feet. My youngest, who usually sleeps like a fossilised log, woke up about 1 thinking that there had been a car crash.

Sometimes you just have to stare in awe at the sheer power of planet earth. I can’t remember having ever experienced a Red Warning level storm before. In the words of Trustpilot - Not recommended.

I’m in Southport and it was awful last night! A slate fell onto my neighbours car from the roof and our wheelie bins rolled into the street my boyfriend had to go and fetch them 😅 hardly slept cos it was so bloody loud last night. Seems to have died down now, only 29mph. Was looking forward to a trip to the Aldi and the big Tesco but think I’ll leave that today 😂

I'm in co durham and my family are in Northumberland we've both woken up to absolute chaos this morning.
Trees down, fences down, roofs blown off buildings, road closures due to floods.

The winds are still so bad.
It's been a crazy crazy 12hrs

Stay safe all

It’s not been that bad here, but I was meant to be going to the Christmas markets in Edinburgh tomorrow and they’ve advised no train travel until Monday 😭 there are no trains running today by the looks of it

I woke up to something banging along the street and when I looked out it was a santa blowing along. God knows where that has come from .

The buses aren't running yet.
