Best excuse I ever heard for being late to work this morning “there was a trampoline in the road “
It’s been getting steadily worse since last night and we had a bit of snow this morning. Sadly I heard someone died in County Antrim after a tree fell on his car. My house is very exposed and not much chance of sleep with this noise. Snuggling with the cats, the rabbits are in their beds and the alpacas
are in the barn even though the daft sods love a good storm.

My dad sleeps like a log through it, there's been times I've thought the whole roof was flying off an he's slept though it, I guess being on the oil rigs does that to you
I keep wondering if its going get worse here, I hear it occasionally picking up an I think here we go then it dies down again for a while, am just glad I don't stay in one of those high rise flats, god knows what it would feel like in those, scare the crap outta you, I've heard how they can sway in winds

I've still got a big window open, there's a very slight breeze but nothing dissimilar to what we would normally have in November.. for those further North .. would this be " normal " weather for you ?.
I'm London area so anything over 30 mph winds would be FREAK

I’ve got an irrational fear of the power lines coming down as I’m driving in wind. We had one come down in the field opposite last year and the massive bang it made and all the sparks was terrifying.

it’s not that bad just very windy where I am in wales. I hate the sound of wind/storms so getting to sleep tonight will be a challenge 
For where I am it's definitely normal an this will continue now into Jan/Feb, for me it's kind of calm the now which means this is it starting, I'll give it a week or two an the 80mph+ winds will be coming

Hopefully it won't x I've been caught in it before my son was nearly killed when he was a baby ,so scary , there was a man killed on one of the bridges in our town the wind blew his lorry over it ,it's a dangerous thing I'm terrified of it .

Tell that to the family of the man who died after a tree fell on his car and then duck off.

I'm in the Midlands and its on and off, but when its on, its sounding awful! I get quite anxious with the high winds and worry our power will go out (our house alarm continually sounds during power cuts for some reason)

It's died down a bit here just hailstones now ,but when it hits it hits ,about half 3 this afternoon the sky turned black as night really weird feeling .
I'm in North Wales and the wind is scary. Local fb page said street furniture all over the place, slates flying about, benches in the road and plenty of Christmas decorations in the street blown from local hotels.
