I was in a really crappy small club in Reading about 15 years ago, there must have been about 20 people max in there. Suddenly the only popular Phats and Small song starts playing, Ben appears on the tiny stage singing it. It was so surreal and I felt embarrassed for him as no one even seemed bothered, going from Top of the Pops to that!

I’ve got to say,I’m loving the Vanessa love! I was starting to think it was just my friends and I who liked her!
My friend worked for her briefly and had to tell her about a massive duck up friend had made. She was really dreading it, as VF obviously has a reputation*. Readers she was lovely and they figured out how to resolve the situation, no drama at all, just very supportive and pragmatic
* am sure the 'hate' she gets is because she has the cheek to not hide her intelligence whilst also ageing, and not being a snivelling shrieking violet..
My other favourite Vanessa moment was when she went into Ultimate Big Brother as the bride:
I saw her once at a cafe with husband, who at first thought may have been her driver or manager, before her daughter joined them. Nobody said anything or noticed they had entered, nor did she make any kind of fuss/demands.
I've always had a soft spot for Vanessa. Years ago I had a back injury and was referred to a specialist. It was Vanessa's ex husband who was also a cheating snake. Being a showbiz gossip girl I recognised his name. It was just after their breakup and I swear I gave him evils the whole time he was talking to me. 
She's magnificent.
