10 months in 45 lbs down. 10.5 stone. Always thought this was goal but I'm still technically over weight. I took some weeks off and reduced dosage to get over Christmas and lack of availability clucking to .8. Burps, nausea and a zero tolerance to alcohol kicked in. Out for dinner last Sunday and just couldn't. There was no joy in having lovely food handed up to me. Maybe that's what made me obese too much joy in food.

Has anyone used a Saxanda pen over 30 days after first opening after being stored in fridge? I can’t find anything online that says medically why the 30 days is advised only that it should be used within that time based on dosage. The skeptic in me is wondering is this a marketing ploy for people to buy more who are only tolerant of lower doses. Any advice or links to any evidence would be appreciate. Thanks

I’d love to know if anyone is in the same boat .. I started Ozempic in November and in the first 4 weeks at 0.25 lost a stone, DELIGHTED with life and moved onto the 0.5 pen .. it was horrific with headaches and egg burps 🤮 it was so bad I skipped a week here and there and over 6/7 weeks on that dose only lost 2lbs .. doctor gave me prescription to go back down to 0.25 and it took me 2 weeks to source a pen ! But I’m 4 weeks in now and I might as well be injecting water 🤷🏼‍♀️ absolutely zero effect on me this time, I’m devastated to be honest .. wondering why and if it will kick in at some stage ? It’s a huge amount of money to waste if it’s not working
Sorry to hear this, I must admit I thought I would have lost a bit more than I have, it's very up and down I have lost about 4lb since I started it in the middle of pen 2
I might try lowering my dose then as I’m struggling on 1.8mg.
Sorry I meant 1.2 not 1.6 I get a bit mixed up with the doses 😬🥴 I only had 1.2 today and I felt much better, nausea has gone, and it is still suppressing my appetite, I do think some people stay on the lower doses for longer than the recommended time, give it a try, think you just have to find a balance. When I go up I might just go up a couple of clicks and see how I get on 💕

Well done that is a brilliant result, did you struggle at first with feeling sick and if so how long did it last ?

I probably have struggled a little with fatigue and nausea but tbh its been worth it. I never imagined been back to a size I'm happy with. Age had hit big time and I had piled on 3 stone. I cringed when I had to be out socially meeting people. Not that anyone gave a sh*t about my weight size Im sure but I just wasn't comfortable in my own skin. I was probably also doing super damage to my own health as the fat was all in my middle and I had relatively good arms/legs. I was also a slow looser but 10 months in Im a different woman now. Really only posting this for the people dissappointed with low numbers. Low numbers over a number of weeks add up. Its been a costly investment in myself too but probably countered a little in how my diet and consumption has changed.

What does everyone think is better value for money, saxenda, ozempic or the ozempic tablets? I've tried saxenda from boots which worked for me but would prefer tablets I think, just scared of getting scammed

Did everyone lose their appetite straight away? I’m on day four now, and I've been eating less, but I'm still hungry, and still managing decent portions. Could murder a doughnut. At least the blinding headaches and nausea have gone now.

Im still waiting for it to happen, Saxenda was instant for me

Be finished my last pen it’s been horrendous like a constant dull headache and stomach cramps light headed etc , but not carrying on simply due to I can’t afford to continue buying. Back to square one on what to do

It's not complete suppression. Food is still necessary. I found craving suppression was they key for me as well as not being able to consume the same volume

I went out for lunch, and had two slices of pizza, when I think I would normally have three or four. Then I didn't have an ice cream, when I would have liked one, but it was easy enough not to. I don't think it's the Sax though (other than the cost of it, and the fear of shitting myself). I suppose if I can stay in that mindset it's working.

😂 It's a weird feeling isn't it you still eat but deffo not as much. I'm definitely eating a lot less than I normally would, not craving the stuff I normally want, and gone off booze, been out tonight I would normally have had a lot to drink as I'm a bit of a binge drinker, could only managed two drinks and left the third which is unheard of. Still on 1.2 as cannot face going up and feeling like tit again.

Hi everyone, hope it's OK to join in.

I'm using Saxenda which I used for a bit just after Christmas, but just wasn't in the right frame of mind for it. Recently had a massive wake up call since being hauled to the Dr's for high cholesterol showing on an annual health check! I'm not hugely overweight but my diet is messed up so I've had to have a strong word with myself.

It's Day 4 and already 2.5lb down. Even went to nandos yesterday, had the lowest calorie option and didn't finish it. No snacks at the cinema either, or in front of Ant and Dec SNT. This stuff works!

Here's to getting my weight and cholesterol back to normal. Good luck to everyone.

Hey everyone, I’m a long time lurker on Tattle but never commented on anything before… just enjoy reading people having the same opinion as me on a lot of stuff! but I would really appreciate some advice/experience.
I’ve been using Saxenda for 6 weeks now, and it’s definitely helped with managing my appetite. I haven’t really had too many bad side effects, a bit of nausea when I go up a dose, but not bad enough to consider stopping it.
However my mental health has taken a huge dip. I have BPD so I don’t know if this is just “me”, but in the back on my mind I feel like this has happened since starting Saxenda.
I was going to try and ride it out but I ended up in A&E last night and I don’t know what to do.
Has anyone else felt any influence on their mental health whilst using Saxenda?

It hasn’t affected my mental health but I know for others it has and they’ve had to stop. Is it worth discussing with your GP? Or your counsellor/support worker/psychologist if you have any of those? They may be able to offer support or suggestions.

I hope you’re ok.

Thank you. I just wondered if it could be that or if there was no link, so it is useful to know it has affected others.
I haven’t told my GP I’m using Saxenda, I’m under the specialist weight management services and I feel like I’m cheating by using it, so wanted to keep it quiet. But you’re right, it probably is something to discuss with them.
Thank you for replying 😊

I’ve certainly seen a dip in my moods.

I hope you’re ok ❤

Okay so I think I’m going to have to seriously think about stopping it… I will talk to my GP though. I was enjoying having the appetite of a “normal” person though!
