Haha yes Sali's hair does not suit being longer does it. So wispy.
I went off Hadley Freeman when she was such a total witch about Jennifer Aniston and Reece Witherspoon. Called them 'show ponies' for turning up to an interview with her looking smart and glamorous.
She also became affronted with RW when she would not go in to details about any #metoo Hollywood experiences she may have had.
Her cringy fawning anecdotes about SH's potato mean duck all.
Holy Cow I’ve never read Hadley Freeman before and that was just painful. Does she usually dislike her interviewees or does she in particular hate Jen and Reese?
If she really wanted to help open the conversation on sexual assault in the media industry that was a terrible way to go about it. You don’t demand a victim of assault tap dance for your article and get pissy when they enforce their obviously previously set boundary with you. Newsflash Hadley boundaries are incredibly important to people who have had those boundaries destroyed in an assault.
Not going to touch on her mean girl opening except to say, maybe if you think your outfit is so lame, old, and dirty don’t wear it in a professional setting to interview women who are literally know globally for their beauty and style. Yikes 😬😬😬

Been a tough day with the old government announcements which just makes me want all of the beauty gadgets. I probably don’t need a nuface but I want one. I definitely don’t need a new hairdryer but I have always wanted a Parlux. I would like some GHD straighteners but my babyliss ones aren’t broken. I’d really like the Philips Lumea Prestige but I have about 60p in my bank account. So, I did my little gentler skincare routine and I’m going to sulk my way through Tattle until I fall asleep. Or until I realise I can’t sleep and go watch something trashy on tv downstairs.

Lots of love for anyone who found today’s announcements inevitable-but-hard!

god, how different she looks now
Indeed. She looked far better before.

You’re absolutely right, it DOES come across as very snide and mean girls. Much like Sali. Do you think they take pride in that, or think that it makes them seem cool and edgy? The entire article smacks of jealousy.

I once read an interview by Molly from Sherlock who was interviewing Liv Tyler, and there wasn’t any jealousy, cattiness or anything. Just super professional and that led to a really interesting read. And that’s coming from someone who hates celebrity guff. There’s a lesson to be learned there, Hadley.

Now that my skin has almost recovered from overdoing the actives, I’m wondering about what else I can do to my face. (Have reintroduced vit c but laying off the retinol completely till next year when I’ll go a bit more steadily than applying every single night, whoops!).

I’d love your thoughts on micro-needling/dermal rollers?

Also, someone I follow on social media was talking about the nuface and I continue to be hugely tempted. It was all of you lovely lot that started than off, but she reminded me. I had told myself I didn’t care about my face that much but frankly I was lying to myself. She is a little older than I am, has not had anything done (and I include weak dilutes in that) and her skin looks amazing. Perhaps I’ll see if Santa brings me any cash...
I regularly do micro-needling and think it's likely to be beneficial - although I can't say what exactly it does because I'm also doing a lot of other things to look after my skin/face (Tretinoin, LED, Nuface, Botox, filler, good daily care, sunscreen, supplements).

I do micro-needling about once a fortnight and keep meaning to get into the habit of doing it once a week. As I'm sure you've seen, there are lots of videos on how to do micro-needling. I think Trinny - who's been using one for years - gives quite good advice.

@GTL Old-Timer I think people like them pretend to be above it all but those constant back handed compliments reveal just how insecure they are. If you’re truly comfortable in your own skin and life you wouldn’t feel the need to tear others down all the time. Who and what they chose to deride just reveals their biggest insecurity about themselves.

Which micro-needling device to you have, @Aude? Does it hurt? I also forget which LED device you have

My skin is just not great, basically. Some lines, some loss of tone, from the micro needling perspective I have quite large pores which micro needling can support with (although am aware that it’s genetic and my pores will always be large).
I have full respect for people who have fillers, botox, etc, but I worry about it for me, I’m not great with needles, I worry I would end up messing about too much with my face, or I’d have a complication. Basically it scares me! My mother’s skin aged quite prematurely and we have quite similar skin so I wonder if I should try and get ahead of this before the inevitable happens!
I would say that nothing - not micro-needling, not anything - has helped significantly to reduce the size of the quite large pores I have on the sides of my nose. It could be more effective at reducing pore size elsewhere on the face.

I've used different ones. Currently I'm using an 0.5 mm one by Timeless. It was quite cheap - and would be cheaper in the US. I would definitely start though with 0.2 or 0.25.

I wouldn't say it hurts and you can use it with lighter or stronger pressure. I tend to use a lighter pressure on the forehead where I feel it more because there's less padding.

I use the CurrentBody LED mask - I have the face mask and also the one they call a 'bib', for the neck and chest.

I know what you mean about Trinny. I was just looking at one of her micro-needling videos to see if I would recommend it. Although I think what she says is well-informed, she jumps around so much. I definitely have to be in the mood to watch her.

Thank you! Yes, she bounds about and fidgets and messes with her hair. She's like an overstimulated puppy. I get agitated watching her

I can't watch Trinny. She's too hyper
Do you get No7 in the US? There’s an led device that looks identical to the current body one and it’s hundred and fifty quid here.

Are you familiar with Davin Lim - he’s an Australian dermatologist who is a laser specialist. According to him, lasers can help reduce pore size.

Thanks - I'll look him up. I'd love to find of way to reduce the pores on my nose.

It’s not been here long. It probably has to go through extensive FDA approvals there. Do you have a mate here who can send you one?
Actually yes, that's a good idea

Or I'll just wait for the CurrentBody to go on sale again. I should have grabbed it earlier this year when it was massively discounted

The CurrentBody? It was about $220 on sale

We need to stop enabling one another 🤣
