The only ones I know of that don’t require uniform are Montessori schools? So A1 & A2 aren’t in school uniform again, I didn’t know the UK has schools that don’t require uniform![]()
Was about to say the same, there are a few, but it's definitely the minority. Montessori are the big ones, there are a few state schools who opt for no uniform but mainly they're all uniformed schools. The only ones I know of that don’t require uniform are Montessori schools?
Montessori, Steiner and other schools with a similar approach to learning don't require a uniform. There are a few in the south of EnglandSo A1 & A2 aren’t in school uniform again, I didn’t know the UK has schools that don’t require uniform![]()
Nope, anna will have spent all morning sorting herself outLooks like neither of the A’s have seen a hairbrush this morning![]()
My kids go to a regular non-uniform primary school in the UK. They do exist but not super common. We live in North Yorkshire & I know of one other school here & three others across the whole of Yorkshire with no uniform, so presumably it’ll be a similar-ish pattern in other counties. The only ones I know of that don’t require uniform are Montessori schools?
The vast majority of primary schools over here have a school uniform. From both a parent and teacher pov, I would rather a school uniform. It gives a sense of community, and also there’s no “competition” as to who’s wearing the latest fashion, how much their clothes cost, along with having a set of clothes, just for school, is often more cost effective (I have a different view when uniforms are extremely expensive and can only be purchased from specific shops).I grew up in Holland where nobody wears school uniforms, so I think they are overrated and in most cases, terribly old fashioned.... Having said that, I am sure the SJ kids will look scuffy now that there is no strict dresscode... Just because Anna can't be bothered.
Around a quarter of schools in the UK don't wear uniformsSo A1 & A2 aren’t in school uniform again, I didn’t know the UK has schools that don’t require uniform![]()
I don’t know any schools near me that don’t have a uniform. I may be wrong, but I think it’s 90% of schools have a uniformAround a quarter of schools in the UK don't wear uniforms
Might just be a primarily southern thing, never heard or seen it up north.I don’t know any schools near me that don’t have a uniform. I may be wrong, but I think it’s 90% of schools have a uniform
not a southern thing, i've never seen any schools without uniform either!Might just be a primarily southern thing, never heard or seen it up north.
Definitely heard of having to pay £1 to wear your own clothes on like a charity day but definitely not just rock up everyday in your own clothes.not a southern thing, i've never seen any schools without uniform either!
All I can think is their waiting for the uniform to arrive after being ordered, but they should have done it before. Then again you know what this lot are likeDefinitely heard of having to pay £1 to wear your own clothes on like a charity day but definitely not just rock up everyday in your own clothes.
