Erimentha Parker Chapters 29 and 30 -

Plot -
- After Ella saw Kimberly dump flour on Ruby there is a lot of tension and Ruby is anxious about whether Ella will tell or not
- Ruby thinks that she has now lost her friendship with Ella because Ella will choose her sister over a friend she has only known for a month. Now she is sad that she has no one
- On Monday morning, Ruby explains she didn't get out of bed for a whole 15 minutes after her alarm went off. I think we are meant to infer from this she is depressed and dreading school
- Ella comes to find Ruby in the library to explain she is still her friend and that Kimberly feels bad for what she did, saying she was angry when she threw the flour at Ruby and that she will never do anything bad again
- Ruby goes to form and Ally starts to tease Ruby but Kimberly tells her to stop, saying that Erimetha is her sister's best friend

Quotes -
- "I want to turn the other cheek but it's not fair that Kimberly should make me miserable for weeks and then not get any punishment at all. That we should all just pretend it never happened when it most certainly did"
- "In form, I walk past Kimberly's desk without making eye contact. But her shoulders tense as I pass so I know that she sees me. She only sees my bottom half but it's not too hard to distinguish me: we both know I'm the only one who wears their skirt so long" - Where exactly was Kimberly that she only saw the bottom half of Ruby, was she hiding underneath her desk?
- "I know I should turn around and smile. I should be relieved that Kimberly is finally acting nice; that Ella still wants to be my friend. But instead, I just feel entirely empty. Like a felt tip pen which has been used so harshly that all of its ink has been lost"
does this book ever end? It feels like chewing gum. It's a bit like the "stories" I wrote as a child (pre-teen, like ... 12 or something). What a shame that easy self publishing wasn't around in the late 90s. *sigh*

Oh bloody hell. That latest tik tok is bleeping cursed. The way the eyebrows go up and down. She has finally found a way to look like a child whenever she wants. Ew.

I was watching her latest video, I don't know if someone already commented on this one, but watching her doing embroidery (as someone who embroiders) is very painful.

-Her hoop tension is very very weak.
-The threads should be separated (one thread is made out of 6 small ones, you need to separate them)
-She did not seem to cut a piece of thread to use, she just straight up put an end thru the needle and called it a day

Sorry for any writing mistakes, my blood is boiling watching her killing that piece of cloth

Definitely. The first thing I realised at uni was how little I really know (or anyone really knows for that matter). Since she got through her course with the help of Blakeney and Spark Notes I don't think this has dawned on her and she still attempts to ruminate on things she hasn't got the first idea about. Oxford will be a wake up call.

Chewing gum - haha. To me it's more like getting gum out of my hair. I agree it really is pre-teen. She's a terrible writer. Sadly this is probably the best she can do. If I were her I wouldn't give up my day job. Oh sorry - my bad because of course it may be surmised she has no day job.

Ruby's out on the PP Insta begging people for ideas and suggestions to save this business that's already dead, but when they give her smart, common sense ideas, she passive-aggressively tells them to get ducked because she's doing it her way anyway. 😂 She'll consider their idea next year, after the company's closed.

Erimentha Parker chapters 31 and 32 - THE END - the chapters keep on getting shorter, I think Ruby had given up by the end of the book

Plot -
- Ruby continues to meet Ella every lunch break and Ella always asks her if the bullying has stopped and if Kimberly is being nice to her now
- Ruby reassures Ella that Kimberly is a changed person and hasn't done anything else mean but Ruby is struggling to forgive her and move on
- Ruby promises Ella that she will never tell on Kimberly
- Turns out that didn't last long. Kimberly's mum found the Eriementha fan club page in Kimberly's internet history so told Ruby's parents. Ruby then cries to her parents and tell her everything while they eat cinnamon buns
- They let Ruby know it is ok to not be ok, and ask Ruby why she didn't tell anyone. Ruby says it's because she didn't want to get into trouble, but spent the rest of the book not wanting to tell and ruin her reputation so who knows what the truth is
- Mum lets Ruby know they are going into school tomorrow morning to sort everything out
- They have multiple meetings at school where Kimberly repeatedly gets told off and cries
- Ruby hands over her log of all the incidences and Miss Stafford compliments her on it and her organization
- The headteacher lets Ruby and her parents know they are possibly going to exclude Kimberly from the school so Ruby can feel safe. The teacher decides to let Ruby and her parents decide Kimberly's fate. Ruby decides not to have Kimberly excluded because she is Ella's sister
- Fast forward a few days and Ella has come round in the evening and the two are curled up on the sofa with hot chocolates. Ella lets Ruby know Kimberly is really happy she isn't getting expelled.
- We find out Kimberly has been given punishment in the form of a week of solitary confinement and she has to help in the canteen every lunchtime for the rest of term (wtf???) apparently no one seems to care about the other girls that bullied Ruby as well
- Ella lets Ruby know that Kimberly is actually a very shy and anxious person so didn't want to have to change school

Quotes -
- "She searches my face for upset, but I never let her see it"
- "I should be over the moon. Kimberly's finally being nice, I've still got Ella as my best friend, and I just got 100% on my English project"
- "In answer I had cried - heavy, long, cathartic cries"
- "The kitchen sink tap hasn't been properly fastened and water drips noisily against the white enamel"
- "Forgetting about my cinnamon bun, the tap and the classical music, I finally tell them everything"
- "I have always been taught not to stare and yet I am unable to take my eyes off of Kimberly. Sitting on a chair between each parent, she looks small. Her chin, usually pulled upwards and tilted by an invisible thread, hangs near to her chest and her eyes scan the carpet with nearly as much nervous energy as Simone had on the first day of school"
- "Then I focus on those eyes. Colourless eyes which had met mine with cold confidence. Eyes whose pale irises I had grown to fear."
- "I know this question is aimed at my parents. I'm only eleven after all - but I speak before either of them"

We just have the epilogue left which I will also include a final summary of my thought and then it is no more Erimentha Parker 💔 💔 💔

My god her newest video which includes her February books... as usual, I don't believe for a second that she actually read half of those books but I find it so funny that she has to constantly remind us that she read certain books "slowly on purpose".

Her drivel about The Brothers Karamazov especially made me feel like she had skimmed/gone to spark notes. Nearly lost it at the point when she tries to defend her pronunciation. Like hun, you literally have Russian speakers in your comments telling you you're saying it wrong! Why can't she just admit it. It's so odd.

Ruby defending herself, that "oooh i've heard people say it as karaMATZof" - Yeah, English speaking people maybe. But the book is originally Russian and any Slav, including me, would pronounce it as KAramazov. (I literally feel like Hermione rn, "It's KAramazov not karaMATZof" :ROFLMAO::LOL::ROFLMAO:) She is soooooo well read sooooo smart sooooo perfect, yet she can't be bothered to respect other cultures and pronounce one single word correctly, despite the fact that she DOES know how to pronounce it. 🤦‍♀️
It's pronounced karaMAzov (i speak russian)

I read Dakota
to fill my quota.
On Sun Swallowing
might boost my following.
This one's a gem
like a felt tip pen.
I wish Sun Tzu
could be more like you.

Her chin dangles by a thread? What a lovely and not-at-all horrifying mental image.

- "In answer I had cried - heavy, long, cathartic cries"
@LostGhosts after finishing these chapter summaries. ;)

Does anyone else find the plot of this book extremely boring?

Oh trust me there might be tears. I am looking forward to being done so I can start reading an interesting book.

Ruby's book really has very little plot, just nothing happens and when something does it is predictable and lasts a few sentences

I do wonder how much her book is autobiography or it's her life but embellished, the same with all of her other books that she claims that she is writing. They seem to be a mixture of her life and what young adult/ children's book that she happens to be reading.

I am kind of wanting her to get into Oxford so she can get humbled. She seems to think that she is coming off as intelligent by adding in a random quote or a fact when speaking and saying it's cool.

Sorry to derail slightly, but I just made a thread about Folk Bowler, brother of Unjaded Jade, and wanted to tell you all that he makes Ruby look like an accomplished actress. You know how Ruby does the head wobbling Hermione act whenever she reads something? His version is a terrible fake crying where he wobbles his fringe and waves toilet roll around. 😅 I'd love to see them collaborate.

I've been doing embroidery most of my life and the answer is no. The back is meant to be almost as neat as the front. She evidently has no skill in this area. This isn't to say she can't acquire it but honestly like everything she does it's just sloppy. Her presentation of self is sloppy, her cooking & food presentation is sloppy, her bedroom is sloppy, her craftwork is sloppy, her videos are sloppy, her research is sloppy. I think she assumes herself skilled in every perceivable sphere. I think many (most) of us here on this tattle thread would be happy to disabuse her of this false notion.

Sorry Edit:- I've re-looked at her embroidery video. She obviously hasn't 'forgotten how to do a leaf'. My best guess is she doesn't know in the first place. IF she has been taught to do embroidery she was not taught by someone who can embroider themselves. As someone who was taught by an expert (the person who taught me worked for Norman Hartnell) my best guess is she never been taught at all. The fact she didn't split her thread, know how to thread the needle or start her first stitch is highly suggestive she cannot embroider. I wonder if this is yet another 'her truth' moment.
You'd have a fit if you watched me embroider 😂 it's okay to do things that you aren't good at, it's called a hobby

We’re not seeing you embroider though 😂 You’re not putting it online and also pretending you’re a book-reading intellectual at the same time.

Did Ruby claim at any point that she's good at embroidery though?
I just feel like writing a whole paragraph about what she was doing wrong is ironically very Erimentha parker-esque lol
