She'll buy one set of stuff then buy another just in a different shade and it makes her feel like she's 'upgrading'. There's no reason for her to be buying so much unnecessary stuff. It is ridiculous how many suitcases she has to take with her everytime she goes travelling.

I also can't imagine how boring doing everything from an apartment must be. It's nice to get out of your pj's to go get your nails done or a take long walk downtown once in a while. Or go to a supermarket to do your food shopping.

She even does her gel nails at home!

I think she only heads out if she really needs to like when she sees her friends or has to take some rubbish downstairs.

And she wants to paint the dresser green? Which sounds nice and all, but you can see her getting tired of it.

Did she say once that she does go for a walk? I can't remember all her videos feel the same.

I did read in the comments of her latest video that she caught COVID and has been sick.

She did that in Melbourne, just stayed in her apartment and could never be bothered to take the recycling out.

I don't know what she does in Toronto besides ordering everything online.

She said in a Q&A video long ago about moving there that she was inspired by Jennifer Garner in the movie '13 going on 30', living this lavish life in an uber expensive city having fun and drinking cocktails with friends sort of thing making her happy. The only difference being Jennifer Garner's character had a very well to do career and Rachel's income source is very non visible.

I do think painting the dresser will add a nice pop of colour, but she chooses the most basic and plain colours and accents that it doesn't do much to compliment anything at all. Watch her pick a very light green instead of being bold and going with a darker green to make it stand out..

Yes she does go for walks, I think mainly as a form of exercise or to buy fresh flowers then its straight back home..

I've been binging some of her older videos where she was more shouty and demanding but she seemed a lot happier..I think the Dan guy she was with made her very happy too.

It's interesting watching her friend Bronwyn's views on Toronto as she noted the homelessness and feeling unsafe.

I remember she met a guy in Toronto the first time she was there and that didn't work out and now she's dating I guess? Fair enough if you don't want to share all that.

I think she just enjoys moving around. In that video where she went on a rant about people calling her a bad consumer she mentioned that she'll still move around.

She has no real reason for being there from what I can gather. It was going to be China or Canada, and she chose Canada.

She still seems really lost and doesn't know what she wants to do. Her visa got approved, I think it was for another year. Whatever visa she's on would be expensive. I know she's sick, but making a vision board? It felt like her heart wasn't in it and she was just trying to fill the space.

I don't believe that YouTube is her only income with the little effort she puts into videos and she's not very active on Instagram or TikTok.

Can you really just stay in Canada and sit in your apartment all day, cutting out magazines?

I think she doesn't work on anything realistic or achievable wherein lies the problem.

If she did real world stuff like apply for jobs or to volunteer somewhere, then maybe she'd get some actual results? Tho I don't know what she wants to do really...

Is finding another job outside of youtube or going back to school really so bad? It's like she's stressing for something to come up but won't do anything of quality to fix it..opportunities don't just come out of nowhere.

Well said. About to watch her latest video.
I know she has said in the past she has mental health issues and was seeing a therapist of some kind. Maybe she needs to find one in Canada instead of having “life coach” calls weekly with her friend. Maybe she needs someone with actual qualifications and expertise to help her.

I'm like 2 years younger than her and don't have a family or husband either but lately I got a really good job in human rights which has been really rewarding and fulfilling for me and I could have never imagined my life would turn out this way. She needs to get out of this rut of woe is me and start putting herself out there. It's great that she was able to make a life out of YT but life & possibilities are so much more than that.

That’s amazing, good on you 😊
I agree she needs to put herself out there or at least try. Sometimes you can get so stuck on the idea of what your life “should” be that you don’t try other things. She likes fashion, find something to do with that. She enjoys home decor and organising, find something to do with that. Heck, even a job at a nice homewares store would give her something to do, income, a chance to socialise and make friends and maybe meet someone if that’s what she wants.
I wonder what work she’s allowed to do under her visa terms?

Thank you :sneaky:

Those are all good ideas. I've always wanted to say she is so talented, like amazingly. She can do so many things and she does it well, hell, more than me! I once suggested to her she could start her own clothing line or do interior decorating. Its a shame she won't really try anything. How long can you go until your life becomes a constant stuck in the motions??

I think she’s already at that point. It’s a shame she never finished uni, she could have done it part time or applied for assistance because of her anxiety (things like extended time to complete assessments).

Yes I think so too. I know! It's crazy to think she hasn't accomplished anything major other than youtube/instagram. I did wonder what her CV must look like a couple of days back . It must be a bunch of youtube related stuff. I do remember she became a business consultant for YT at one point.

I've been in her shoes and I don't judge her at all. It's hard to be abroad and alone, especially when you're sick.

I think she expected to be in a serious relationship by now, as she's already living a rich housewife life anyway.

I had no idea she struggles with anxiety, I thought she just got bored/lazy with it all.

Eh, to be fair she's always lived like that. I think she just feels the pressure to settle sometimes.

I am pretty sure she listed it as a reason why she was quitting uni but I could be wrong.

Yep she says she has had anxiety every day for 4-5 years in her “changing my life…BIG TIME” video from 2 years ago.

I think she didn't like the other units of her course and that's why she quit.

It did feel like when she started uni, she was just doing it as something to do, not to lead into a job. Mind you this was years ago.

A lot of people don't know what they want to do with their lives. But she is the first person I've seen that has moved to Canada and just sit in her apartment all day.

I think so too, I’d feel a bit disappointed in myself if I were her because that’s a huge cost to move back and forth several times.
Whatever she is looking for I don’t think it’s in Canada 🤷‍♀️

It's a shame because someone could've used that visa in place of her?? For an actual reason? Not sure how it works but what a huge waste, but I doubt she'll feel bad as she enjoys moving around so much

She always seems happier in Australia
