You may find that even though your older child rarely uses the pram now, they will want to be in it when the baby is. My youngest will be 3 when this baby is born but I’ve held onto our double (middle and oldest are 2 years apart) because I have a feeling she’ll suddenly want to be back in the pram.I’m sad I don’t have many big purchases to make this time since it’s baby number 2.
My oldest will be 2.5 when baby 2 is born. Does anyone with this kind of age gap recommend a double pram? I have the uppababy vista just now so planning just to get the adapters to turn it into a double as she probably won’t need a pram for too much longer once it’s born so don’t want to go buy an expensive double? Worried it might be quite heavy with the seat unit, the carry cot unit, a baby and a toddler though
Good point, think I’ll probably get the adapters to change ours into a double as i think it’s quite inexpensive and maybe look into biggy boards too so she has the option and might move onto buggy board once she’s a bit olderYou may find that even though your older child rarely uses the pram now, they will want to be in it when the baby is. My sister had her two 3 years apart and ended up having to buy a double for this reason!
Additionally, if you’re out and about on your own with both of them, it might be handy to be able to strap your older child in so you’re not trying to juggle supervising them and pushing the pram with the baby.
This is mine. I’ll spoiler it cos it’s long!Interested to see hospital bag lists, ladies.
I got an I candy which gives the option to have a double then if she won’t co operate, it’s a buggy board and then still a nice single fro the baby, all the options hahaOh yes. I might wait and see nearer the time see if I think she’ll be more suited to a double pram or a buggy board. Maybe depends how wild she is at the timetotally forgot about buggy boards
That's really crappy language - not just the artificial bit, but insinuating that making that choice is somehow wrong as well. Could you give feedback/make a complaint? Unfortunately a lot of the language around formula feeding is still really rubbish despite it being a perfectly valid way to feed a baby (fed is best!) - formula tubs often say that breastfeeding should be the first option, and they aren't allowed to advertise first infant milk. I hope your trust are supportive however you decide to feed baby - I was very lucky that mine agreed that baby being fed and happy was the main thing, so was supported to formula feed when baby was too poorly to breastfeed - and when we saw the infant feeding team about trying to establish breastfeeding after he was better and his tongue tie had been dealt with, they said that he still seemed breast resistant and that we may want to consider just continuing with formula/some expressed milk to make things easier for all of us. It should always be mum's choice, and that choice is always valid and should never be judgedI had my booking in appointment on Friday and they did a hospital bag checklist in there.
I got to the end of the list and this is what they say… I couldn’t believe the use of the ‘artificial’ for bottle feeding. Not here to start a breast vs bottle debate but the language chosen is so important so it was disappointing to read that in my pack (was a print out, didn’t have hospital branding on it or anything but still feel irritated about it)
That’s just so unnecessary isn’t itI had my booking in appointment on Friday and they did a hospital bag checklist in there.

That language is horrifying. I can’t breastfeed due to medication and I was so worried about being shamed after I gave birth. But they came round the wards with trolleys of different infant formula and no one said anything to me about choosing not to. Everyone was very supportive about my choice (regardless of reason)That's really crappy language - not just the artificial bit, but insinuating that making that choice is somehow wrong as well. Yes I have uppababy vista currently and it’s the same kind of set up so be handy to have option of single/double/buggy boardI got an I candy which gives the option to have a double then if she won’t co operate, it’s a buggy board and then still a nice single fro the baby, all the options haha
First time round I had a couple of changes for baby and a coming home outfit for him, all in labelled ziplock bags. Stuff for changing baby. Had a comfy outfit for me to go home in plus a toiletry bag with overnight stuff like toothbrush, deodorant etc. An old towel to use after showering plus wash things. Overnight clothes for me plus maternity pads. A big bag full of snacks and drinksInterested to see hospital bag lists, ladies.
That is really upsetting to see. There is enough pressure on mothers without using language with such negative connotations.I had my booking in appointment on Friday and they did a hospital bag checklist in there.

No, when you find the magic answer let me know. Drives me mad.Any tips on keeping maternity jeans up? I’ve even sized down but they’re still falling down.
This was happening with my maternity work trousers, I got a support belt from Amazon and wear it over them and they stay up now. Only recommended for a few hours a day thoughAny tips on keeping maternity jeans up? I’ve even sized down but they’re still falling down.
