It is basically her whole personality! but equally, if I am going to dinner with anyone for the first time I ask about food preferences etc...also.... how does someone in this day and age not know what vegan is??? Sure! But even nowadays veganism -amongst other things- still scares some people off.

The whole thing is weird. I'm sure there was previous discussion about how Joe's Dad often eats plant based meals so there's no reason for him not to know what it is or something. I do think Niomi's PB eating stems from her eating problems, she started out just healthy eating, she had videos on it on her channel using eggs and dairy products etc then she went PB from there so seems like an extension of it. That being said Charlotte seems to also have messed up views on it all considering she said Niomi looked healthy in that recent photo, so I don't think she'd kept it from Joe or anything? I also don't actually think Joe seems the type to be deliberately inconsiderate about the food, I mean he spent all their holidays in weird health food PB cafes for Niomi's benefit. It just makes no sense. The most likely answer seems to me that he probably was nervous and forgot tbh. Plus, even a pub/steakhouse would be able to cater for a vegan who eats 'normal' food like chips, it's not that Niomi 'can't' eat in these places she just chooses not to

That's what I thought too, he just wanted to go somewhere he liked and didn't consider her at all. Clearly not bothered about impressing on a first date.
