yep super expensive. I was going to try whirli at around 6 months old. Less expensive - also less fancy / Montessori looking stuff - but thatās what I have my eye on for toy subscription.Just had a look at the Lovevery subscription boxes. Am I being tight or do these seem mega expensive?! View attachment 756660
Mega expensive! Surely it makes more sense to buy what you want, as you want it? I feel like you could get the same stuff from Amazon for half price or less with very little effort. I know the point is that itās effortless but I wouldnāt pay double for that personallyJust had a look at the Lovevery subscription boxes. Am I being tight or do these seem mega expensive?! Sooooo expensive. I was delighted to see them doing stuff in the UK now, and I really subscribe to a lot of Montessori principles, and their stuff looks great but ā so expensive! That said when I looked up the bits I wanted it worked out very expensive that way too as a few pieces seem quite unique to them (obvs the ones Iām after ). Plus I can see this stuff lasting well, and I dread to think what is spent on toys overall but since this is our last baby I canāt justify that price.Just had a look at the Lovevery subscription boxes. Yes! Crazy expensive. I guess some of the toys in there are quite niche ones you canāt get elsewhere so if there are specific ones you wanted it might be worth a one off, but stillā¦Just had a look at the Lovevery subscription boxes. Just have to say what a lovely name Finn is. It was our boy choice but we got a second girl. My toddler tells me her baby will be called Finn!Thank you everyone for all the support and info. Iām just gonna go with the flow with Finn and let him tell me how heās doing and what he needs and try not to worry what the general rule is. I struggle with worrying about doing stuff wrong and my anxiety means I like to be in control and if I donāt know what Iām doing I spiral. Anxiety is worse when Iām tired so this is why Iām like this today. I love Finn, Iām a good mom and I can do this. Itās just new and Iām learning every day. I mustnāt be too hard on myself anymore. Thank you for allowing me to ask lots of questions. I get much more info off here than anywhere else. My mom is a firm believer of ālet them cryā so I donāt ask her for advice and I donāt really have anyone else to ask so I appreciate you all a lot.
We use whirli and itās brilliant. Really come into its own now thereās 2. We borrowed some brilliant baby bits and itās so easy to return as they grow out. Iām not sure if itās allowed but I have a referral code.yep super expensive. I was going to try whirli at around 6 months old. Your dad sounds just like my FIL. The whole āwhen can he start playing golf? When can we take him to football?ā Stfu heās 6 months old heās just dropped my husband off at home now and asked if he could say a quick hello, I was just finished doing his bedtime story so I was like errrrrrm 2 mins cause heās not sleepy yet but I donāt wanna stimulate him. So what does he do? Tries to tickle the poor thing, which then set him off crying. My in laws do a really crappy job of trying to convince me theyād be great at looking after him. Whereas my mum, like yours, is absolutely fab with him. Why do people think that babies want to be tickled all the time?So I thought having visitors would be nice but I actually hate it haha. My parents came round this afternoon and my dad overstimulated the baby and didnāt let him sleep for an hour and a half and just basically shouted at him the whole time āsay grandadā and all this tit and in the end Finn just cried and couldnāt be soothed cause he was over tired. Heās never been like that. My dad obviously wasnāt interested once he was crying. My dad kept saying how babies are more fun from 18 months old and how he wants to be the first to take him swimming and to the seaside etc. So treats him like heās older whereas heās two weeks old and just needs to sleep. But apparently thatās āboringā. I actually wanna say ok come back when heās 18 months old and no, weāll be the first to do all this stuff with him. Heās our son. Me and husband are now physically and emotionally exhausted and we feel frustrated that we love our own little bubble and visits mess it up. Felt like we havenāt had any time to ourselves just us three today. My mom is absolutely lovely with him and actually listens to what I tell her to do with him, itās amazing. I think they expect to come over every weekend but itās actually exhausting to deal with. Havenāt had a nap today and tonight is gonna be so hard. I felt so positive this morning after the pep talk from you guys and I was doing so well with following Finnās cues but now I just feel fed up again. Sorry, rant over.
Oh god, why canāt people have a little thought and try to respect what weāre saying as their parent? Itās just tiring.Your dad sounds just like my FIL. The whole āwhen can he start playing golf? Have you got the day together with just your husband and Finn tomorrow? Time is so precious when they are back at work. Iām really selfish and Iām not afraid to admit it. We are going away for our wedding anniversary in November and his parents have asked if they can come for the night so my husband and his dad can play golf. Obviously it was a flat no from me!
I've been looking at these for the highchair! I put the toy bit from his mamas and papas chair onto the highchair tray but I think he's a bit bored of it now. Does it stick down quite well?Ladies, Iāve just got this for my little boy and stuck it to the table on his mamas and papas activity seat. He LOVES it View attachment 758713

I think the mamas and papas seat is one of the best things weāve bought so far. Sticks down really well! He gives it a good old whack and it hasnāt budged. I love the Lamaze stuff, my mum bought him the playgym when he was born and he still loves it nowI've been looking at these for the highchair!
